  1. He came on a 4 year contract and has played 3, that leaves 1 year doesn't it?
  2. We gave 2 and 18 for White and 22. White had played 32 games to LJ's 50 and with a flag and rising star and far superior stats all around, LJ is a mile ahead of White at this stage. White wasn't even a regular in the Freo side, playing 32 games in 3 years. We gave them Pick 2 and a 4 pick upgrade, for a far lesser player than LJ , at that stage.
  3. But could that contract be renegotiated if he got to Freo, after say a year?
  4. Things are getting nasty in the Dunkley standoff. Maybe we should be looking at destabilising Freo, like they have done to us, if we end up getting shafted in the LJ deal. The Bulldogs will turn their attention to attempting to poach a Lions player along with a future first round pick if the Lions cannot find a way to satisfy their demands.
  5. I don't think we can presume that either. One club will blink. I am now suspecting we are being bent over big time. It's sounding like we will get 13 and maybe 13 next year and if Freo blinks, North's future 3rd, though obviously North's future 2nd would be much better.
  6. He is not a free agent, he is an uncontracted player. If he goes in the PSD we get nothing, but it appears he won't do that, thankfully.
  7. WCE are still 2nd in the PSD, even if they give away 2 in the ND. If he goes into the PSD, it will be North who may be happy just to have him a year to trade or WCE. He won't get to Freo. But we will get nothing.
  8. And if he did, North could afford to accept any conditions he applies and then he is their player, to trade in another year.
  9. My post above yours said he was on $500k with one year to go and I suggested 2 years at say $350k being $700k, which would be fair for a key Defender.
  10. Eagles looking at giving 2 to North, in a deal to get JHF and Rioli to Port with them getting Port's 8 and F1st. They think they will get the boy they want at 8, likely Reuben Gibney from WA. That just puts them out of the LJ trade and we are left fighting with Freo. Not looking flash for us atm. I would also back North to use 2 on Cadman.
  11. AFL player agent Brett Deledio says his client Adam Tomlinson is willing to move from Melbourne in search of senior opportunities elsewhere. Tomlinson, 29, has a year remaining on his contract with the Demons but played only eight games in 2022, featuring 14 times in Casey’s VFL premiership campaign. Well confusion reigns, as article says he has one year left. That could be extended to say 2 years at $350k each, instead of one at $500k and he is a pretty handy pick up for a side with key defender needs.
  12. I reckon he would do 3 years at $400k each.

Not by us, we are only using 2 selections apparently.

I heard your maid was sniffing around Froggy’s lily pond. Maybe just distributing some of your Romsey wine casks to the less affluent, or is that effluent.
  15. North getting excited.
  16. Agree. The player then plays with the club that takes him or doesn't and if not, gets no AFL footy and no money. Could even sign a one year deal, on the basis they trade him at reasonable value the next year. That's a great PSD then for that club, a free good player, to trade in a year.
  17. Who knows, I am just spit balling.
  18. They actually have 13, 88, F1st say 13, North F2nd say 21, North F 3rd say 39. They will get say around 25 if they clear Lobb. That is probably the deck of cards, plus players.
  19. We have asked for 2 picks inside 10, is that absurd? You suggest 13, F1st say 13, North F2 say 21 and we give back even our F2nd at a stretch. I think that is absurd. We are being told that maybe around pick 10 this draft is average. So maximising picks st least gives us the chance to bundle and improve them.
  20. Jim it’s interesting the posts and views on this. You think we are getting screwed over on my suggestion, while another poster has said Freo would be. That suggest to me that maybe my suggestion is reasonable in the circumstances, where Freo has no picks inside 10 and we want two of them. I think I can guarantee one thing, whatever the deal we do for LJ it will divide DL, whereas the deal for Grundy, accepting that some don’t want him, will be broadly accepted on DL.
  21. The equation of points is probably meaningless, as we wanted 2 picks inside 10 and I don’t think they will get near that, so more later picks can do the job. If it was pick 1 and pick 8 without Treacy we would have done the deal the minute trade week started but of course they wouldn’t. My plan is more picks, yes, but that they already have. I am throwing in Treacy, a Victorian kid they are not really playing, who may want to go home soon, as they are preferring Amiss, a local. He would not be the deal breaker of course just a wish list spit ball from me. I am just fearful we are going to get crunched because of Bell.
  22. Freo currently have 13, F1st, North F2nd, North F3rd. If Lobb to Dogs, say 25. Maybe Treacy as steak knives and we have another young key forward. Deal done. Would give us say 13, our pick 18, 20 and 38 next year, in a strong draft and with picks to draft or trade. This year 13 and say 25 ( Lobb ) and say 35 for Bedford. We could bundle 13, 25 and 35 to get 2 slightly better picks and use them this year. You might get say 10 and 20. See how easy it is. We haven't got those really high picks, but we have got enough for this year and next.
  23. GWS are loaded with picks and won’t use all of them. They will take 18. I think from memory they have 3, 12, 15, 19 already in first round. 18 would give them 5 and then Hopper picks to come.
  24. Geelong want local Jye Clark at 7.

27 and we throw in 52 and they get Frampton and deal done.
