Would be tough! Adelaide had a full year to know they needed to appoint a coach - clearly Geelong had a plan. Other clubs still havent appointed a coach and their season ended much before ours. Think id rather them take their time then rush into an appointment just so they had a coach for trade and draft? Season finished November 22 and Mick announced he was leaving on 24th. Trade was 10 days later, that would be a ridiculously quick turn around for such an important role.

Draftees get 2-year contracts - so all our draftees from last year are in contract until end of 2026.

I can only assume it happened very late and has just been announced a few days post? Draftees also get 2-year contracts now, so for us to take 2 tonight (minimum amount AFL allow) we had to have 1 more list change.

This trade we upgrade 17 to 14 and Get a F2 that is likely to be a very early one? Not sure whats not to like about it?

I agree with this: Take away the Johnson aspect as you mentioned she likely would have been delisted anyway, and take in the GC deal which looks to be tied to this one Zanker for 9, GC F2, Freo F2 and we move pick 17 to 14 in 2025 - GC F2 likely to be 19, 20 or 21? Looks like we would only be taking 2 in the draft so moving 35 not a huge deal.

Yep, few really pumping up the age numbers here. Need experience around to help the kids grow and flourish.
