2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee
Do you reckon? Maybe it's rose coloured glasses or him being traded has made me want a greater return, but I feel like he's that really solid, hard to beat player that provides value in both attack and defence. He did miss the first chunk of this season with a bad hammy so maybe that impacted his play this year.

This guy is a big loss. Such a solid, dependable footballer. Hoping we get the value he brings to our side in return for him.

Rebuild or Renovate?
I'm leaning in to rebuild - We've got a little start on recruiting talented youngsters. But we need to keep filling the list with kids - preferably before Tassie come in for the '27 draft. Moving on Petracca and Oliver for capital over the next two drafts is good business I think. I'd almost look at a few others with trade value to make sure we get enough of our future list sorted asap

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
The best of Mihocek would be brilliant for us. I just worry - given how his year played out - that he's cooked physically. He's been such a workhorse that maybe his body is done. Fingers crossed my feelings are unfounded.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Grlj apparently went sub 6 minutes for the 2k and sub 3 seconds for the 20m sprint. That's a seriously good athletic background.

Sorry to post about a Richmond podcast - but the guy from that Reading the Play website was on last night explaining through the phantom draft he released. Not a bad listen if you’ve got the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7Mued80hPY

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
You're right, its really just a power rankings matched to clubs at this time of year isn't it? You'd have to think they'll do a version 2 post trade period. Maybe they were trying to put an early flag in the ground with how busy trade and draft news can get?

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It's starting to seem like he'll end up at Richmond with pick #3 or #4. That Reading the Play website I've posted power rankings from have their phantom draft coming out tomorrow I think - will be curious to see where some of these names fall.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
#7 does feel low for someone who's been touted as top 2 all year. But talls - specifically rucks - don't often go super high anymore. And I don't see Jackson's explosive power in CDT, so maybe he does slip a little? Then again, Twomey has him going to West Coast at #1 or #2 so ...

Absolutely. If we got him down that low then happy days. Could be a Hayden Young type I reckon

This 11-20 draft ranking is interesting - some good players not in the top 10. https://readingtheplay.wordpress.com/2025/09/24/2025-draft-power-rankings-11-20/

I did think Onley that low was at odds with some of the other rankings. Maybe it's their 'attention grabber'? Or maybe there's more to Onley that meets the eye. They go on to discuss decision making and defensive intent as areas to improve.

This guy - not sure who he is - has released 21-30 (I'm pretty sure 31-50 are already out) in his power rankings countdown:
