Overall I think Lamb did a great job…! 👏🏻 If Dees did land Bailey we wouldn’t have Pick 7, 8 or GC 1st 2026. And we wouldn’t have our own 2026 1st because GC would have it… In hindsight and after listening to Lamb’s press conference post trading, I think it was a big risk to have too many chips in for Bailey when Tassie is coming in. Lamb, Taylor & the board have the big picture and future in mind. This is best to support King in his coaching towards fast tracking success. The key is to develop our list correctly. Humphrey is worth more than Trac. We have to give up something. I understood getting Flanders & high draft pick would have been in the ball park. But not Humphrey. It goes the other way…!

Dees need to get GC to jump… And I believe our 2026 1st is it. Bailey for Trac isn’t straight up and I think we need to pay more. I’m hoping Pick 7 can get us Josh Lindsay and Pick 15 Mitch Marsh or Latrell Pickett. Maybe we keep Pick 23 if you think is overs. Dees have a history of trading future 1st to get in this draft. Tough start for King if we don’t get a quality player in return for Trac (and Oliver). I actually don’t see Humphrey and Trac playing in the same side… I think they but heads. A bit like a Gawn & Grundy all over again.

GC - Petracca, Pick 24, 28 & 2026 1st Melb - Humphrey, Pick 7, 15 & 2026 2nd

All BIG name trades to be done on the last day to last minute… It is totally deliberate and I would think a directive by the AFL. It keeps all us Nuffies interested and is good for the AFL and its partners and all the media channels. Bailey to the Dees last minute

I wanted a player for Trac in return but is not likely. If we did get Picks 7 & 8 and keep 24. I would be very happy if we can turn those picks into Robey, Lindsay & Pickett. I’m thinking JT has a plan to move up in this draft to get his players. I wouldn’t be surprised if our 2026 1st is traded. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Alex Davies name comes up in trade… It is already weird Trac in a Suns jumper. But also wearing a different number than #5.

Need a player not Picks…! I will be disappointed with 7 & 8. But if it’s picks we are getting. I would rather there 1st Picks for 2026 & 2027.

100% agree… Gold Coast are stacked with players. And have more high end Academy players coming. Dees want a player and need a player… They can keep there draft picks. Mac Andrew should have been at the Dees… AFL rifled us. Rigged. All IN on Humphrey now

I do think with all the GC Academy talent coming there way and Petracca I do think if Humphrey asks to be traded they will trade him. However, he won’t be cheap. Dees just need to get it done… But I’m thinking the Dees are In Deep for both Humphrey & Flanders as a package. Dees need to be asking for GWS 2026 1st… Forget this year. 2026 has more currency to trade with. We either keep it for us or trade to Suns. Suns have too many 2025 picks already.

I would definitely prefer your counter if we can get it done… But I do think Dees need to give up 2026 1st to get Bailey. Maybe Dees get back Suns 2026 2nd round pick as well. My intuition does tell me Bailey & Sam are keen to play under King. King (aka ‘The Hammer’) and the MFC actions with a No BS approach in this last week has already set a culture for success moving forward. I do believe it is attractive to incoming players… The next 2 weeks will tell. Hopefully my intuition is correct.

I would trade Petracca & Dees 2026 1st for Flanders #4 & Humphrey #5

IF the Suns bring in Jamarra… My intuition tells me Ben King will be a straight swap for Petracca.

I would like Melbourne to blow the Suns & Pies out of the water and offer Jamie Elliott 800-900k (per season) for 2 years. Give him something to seriously think about. I highly rate Elliott and his big game performances. He can be the difference between winning and not winning. Winning a premiership now requires Flanders, Elliott type additions… Add Mihocek as well. With Petracca and McVee out we should be able to afford these players comfortably. Possibly May as well…

I agree with some he was always going… I could tell with the way he played his season out. Like a spud…! I would have dropped him to Casey. I want and expect Melbourne to demand at a minimum Pick 11 or Freos 1st Pick next year… If Freo don’t come to play I would be prepared to let Eagles take him in the Preseason draft. Freo play hard when trading out their own players. Remember Weller to GC for Pick 2 (Brayshaw)…? They were overly demanding.
