Elite standards, but can't tackle, handball or kick !!

I keep hearing "when Oliver gets fit " He had his problems at the start of 24, we are now 1/2 way through 25, 18 months and 1 full pre-season and a professional footballer is still not up to elite football fitness ?? Time for Goodwin to harden up and make big call, otherwise the club should step in and make hard call on both.

I disagree, probably didn't get to enough contests, but when he did, brought it to ground. And he actually leads at ball carrier, apart from melksham all others ran away from ball. Need to persist. See how he and JVR go next few weeks.

Forward entries have not changed for 5 years, yet same coaches and players are lauded cos we manage to win a couple of games here and there. Teams have worked out our midfield and target petracca and oliver when we don't have ball. For so long we have had players to cover them in defence, yet they are giving us next to nothing on offence, how about making them accountable both ways. Metres gained means nothing when the ball is going to opposition. For gods sake recruit a coach that can teach forwards. We are playing country footy in AFL. How this has gone on for so long is an inditement on Goodwin and club.

I have read a lot off comments in regards to JVR and Petty forward craft, I agree that Petty needs to be more stronger/physical in contest, gets out marked to often by smaller opponents. But i am not sure how good there forward craft can be when majority of our midfielders and ruckman are long dump kicks, seems that we still haven't fixed this problem over last 4 years. How can you lead with any confidence when you don't know where the ball is going and it never seems to be on the advantage side of our forwards ?

Be nice if he could sprinkle a bit of his forward craft magic on the rest of our key forwards !!
