  1. Whatever , dude. If you feel like rain, hail, shine you have to watch every second of our home games at the ground then fine. Every one's different and it feels weird believing in divisions among Melbourne supporters. Anyway for all we know we have a higher percentage of ultra-devoted supporters and lower percentage of the bandwagon ones anyway. (And even if our supporters actually are the worst then so what?!)
  2. Melbourne's MCG games with an interstate rival (barring finals or being match of the round) have been notoriously under attended for decades. Don't blame the coach. Besides it's better to win 18 boring H&A games and get a double chance, rather than finishing 10-13 but "entertaining".
  3. There would be billions of instances where footy fans (or even just the general public) have cancelled things outside because of the weather. Sorry, but especially if fans haven't 'prepaid' with a membership it's so easy to just stay home and watch today's game on telly (without having spend time travelling or possibly overpriced food and drink.) - especially if the weather's lousy or you think (especially after a week of GWS being likened to the second coming) your team will be outclassed. As for the F1 there are people that will prefer a yearly event as opposed to one twenty-third of their teams H&A season. If anything blame the AFL for starting the season this bloody early (and giving GWS the huge advantage of an extra game to condition them in this almost practice-matchLESS era )
  4. Wow, that's a big call. I'm guessing right now the bookies would offer punters only 25-1 on (1. 04) for the Hawks from here. I was expecting the Hawks to drop back a little this year. I doubt both Swans and Essendon are bad teams. So now I'd the Hawks scraping into the 8. (Given they barely lost after May last year and their percentage post-round 7 or 8 was around 130 ending up on 13 wins and 105 per cent age come September would still be a step backwards)
  5. Hmm six newbies, plus Petracca 'replacing' whoever filled in for him for 6 months plus 2025 Oliver 'replacing' 2024 Oliver and hopefully the likes of Roo, Rivers, Windsor and Tholstrup (and even Petty) being noticeably better this year there is so much of an X factor for this year! It's so hard to know right now how our year will pan out. But even the fact that good players Jetta and 'Chunk' were superseded by the end of '21 helped us go all the way that year. I'd love to see history repeats itself
  6. Don't know why but I adore this 'dumb' movie. 😂 And, yes, right now we have a chance at everything, except maybe the spoon.
  7. Well we've had 7 teams play in these 4 H&A matches. Every team that won their pre-season game has lost and every one that lost theirs is atop the ladder unbeaten.
  8. But we like Roy https://frinkiac.com/video/S05E07/31mXjIhfPCza1im1ckHMyz_1f6E=.gif
  9. So with the new upgrade can we choose which Demon player reads out posts over our shoulder? @Ghostwriter , can you and your inner sanctum friends help set this up. 😁
  10. I trust the MFC brains trusts knows more than me. But with hindsight it could be that we couldn't go for some more Moneyball-type players who would've added more value It could also be that Reid ends up more the standard of Travis Johnstone as opposed to Judd, D Martin or Fyfe.
  11. J Christ and C Kent
  12. Only cos of the real games in recent years where goal accuracy cost us. If we had instead kicked 16.10 last week and kick 8.20 this Sunday basically the goal kicking complaints would've just been postponed a fortnight.
  13. They did reach 90 points on a hot day in windy conditions jetting across the country with some newbies with few or zero interstate games under their belt at a ground possibly no player's ever set foot on. On top of that our main forward probably only played for one minute and another played only the last quarter. Plus Freo had a much harder game against the Indigenous All Stars while we had a match simulation against the North almost-all No Stars so probably they were more matchfit anyway. (Oh and Tracc hadn't played any games since last June.) Given all this I choose to be 'glass-half-full'. BTW in their practice matches Sydney beat Suns by 4 goals, Collingwood beat Tiges by 14 goals (and N Daicos supposedly had one hand on this year's Brownlow). But in the real games Hawks (beaten 2 goals by a depleted Doggies) and Giants ( beaten 10 goals by Carlton) made a mockery of the pre-season form. Honestly can you remember any non-Melbourne practice matches pre-2025? No one's gonna even care about the recent ones come Sunday night.
  14. Looks like we'll have to go back to writing on the cubicle walls in the public toilets at Casey. 😁
  15. Indeed. People that are professional get when to be serious and when to focus. But a bit of fun or frivolity can be useful some other times. Often people will work better if they enjoy their job and workplace and be likely not to leave as quickly. Surely every Dees fan wants the players playing better and not looking to leave. I don't understand the original comment.
  16. I've always FELT it is both.
  17. They will re-mayne anonymous? 😉
  18. Didn't some irate Richmond supporter years ago get a truckload of manure dropped outside Richmond headquarters? It wouldn't be original but it'd be a heartfelt message I'm sending the Filth.
  19. Hey! This is a family site! 😂😂😂
  20. Almost half a decade? In 2021, even 2022, weren't they still hoping that BBB, TMac be holding down forward positions? In 2022 they would have hoped that in his last year Weid could step up and maybe Tracc could play more forward if someone could close to match his midfield input.
  21. Apparently the Herald Sun sells way more copies if the Filth are mentioned on the front page
  22. God knows how good the Giants are. But one game under the belt compared to our none is a big advantage. Also they have a bye straight afterwards so they can throw themslves around even further knowing they have a long recovery time. Geez, it'll be good if we beat them!
  23. I've arranged it with the boys. Next week he goes down in the 'thoid'.
  24. I'd bet my life savings that the grand final won't be between North and West Coast and that Sydney and Brisbane won't be fighting it out for the wooden spoon. But, otherwise, there are surprises every year. It could easily turn out that we were better served by the actual results of this weekend.
  25. I still remember decades ago holidaying in Tassie. We were probably down near Hobart watching the cricket from the 'G' on TV. It started to rain forcing players off the field. But funnily enough at the exact same second it started raining outside. Surely it's impossible but could the same rain cloud span 100s of kms? :)
