Farewell Clayton Oliver
Yeah I kind of felt sorry for him, but something tells me he is just a [censored] bloke. I think Iโm finally done with this thread

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
Watched the replay and I reckon I counted 4-5 Cripps throws several unpaid HTB so when they finally paid thrb2 HTB in the final quarter - even if they were 50/50, it still didnโt make up for everything else that was missed. good win. Our first quarter jitters are now a problem. Thatโs 3 games now getting jumped.

Very true. Question for DL - When do you generally see a-grade talent start to come through? Put aside Ablett Jnr, Naicos etc. Is it generally in 3rd, 4th or 5th year? Langford, did show some snippets in 2-3 games last year, but largely has many games where is ineffectual or even noticeable. To me his fitness, getting from stoppage to stoppage and burst speeds are his biggest physical issues; skill wise, handballing and ball-gets are areas he needs to improve. Is he on track to be Melbourne's next weapon? I think he'll be good, but star-level good ? i have some reservations. XL, is a bit of an enigma. Has good pace, ball-use and fitness. To me he does lack a bit of game sense, but probably has the most upside of the three. Will get good in the next 2-3 years i think, a bit of a late bloomer. May not get to a-grade stardom, but will be a solid player nonetheless. Windsor, athletically gifted, reasonable ball user and impressed a lot in his first year. We all know last year was a write-off so in a sense this year is his second year. Early days yet but i think he needs confidence and more time on ball. With good development, we can use him off the back of the pack, that can burst through stoppage and set up play... a bit like a QB. Biggest question mark is on his own ball winning ability and foot skills.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
If we are playing best 25 every week, Windsor and Langford need to be considered for a run in the 2s. Langford especially looks like he is too slow for AFL. Gets exposed in the middle hence why on the wing. I was expecting him to be more imposing this year.

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Fremantle
I thing Kings ethos of playing on instinct amd letting the players do their thing was good in theory. But we are playing without an identifiable system. Or Freo have easily picked apart our 1 wood and we left our other clubs at home. Again Iโm not totally surprised at the result, but Iโm worried that there is nothing that stands out in terms of the younger players. Not one highlight . That is concerning.

I think they were pumped up a bit too much last yearโฆ pair them with Windsor and we are scared undersized and under experienced

How many scores from rebounding from our forward 50? I mean all 3rd quarter scoresโฆ do these guys forget how to defend?

Reality check incoming. Get used to games like this. Without hard in and under players โฆ teams like this will roll us big time

Yeah I just donโt see the idea of him being a star of the comp.

2026 MRO & Tribunal
Im not against this rule - there are genuine circumstances for a rule such as this applies. And i think if you have played 400+ games and not been suspended, you are entitled to a downgrade. It should be like the demerit point system. Perhaps a downgrade (of X points only) for every 200 games you play (or 10 years, whatever comes first). So if its a sligh indiscretion - a one weeker - we'll let you off with a warning. The issue is having a legal representative in the AFL system, representing AFL HQ, being a 35+ year special member of one of its clubs.

Surely not? if that doesnt scream conflict of interest ,then i dont know what else to say.

Club Emblem
The current emblem is class. I think leave it untouched. If they want to tap into the Demon theme, there are other ways, without tarnishing the emblem. Similar to how Sydney have the opera house on their Guernsey and still have the swans in their logo type of thing.

I must have missed the memo, but what is this training in groups non-sense?

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Plus the HTM on Culley in the goal square. It was putrid again. Nothing different.
