  1. So i suppose the extent of which he wants out will be measured against his willing to take a paycut. That is of course assuming we will not entertain any deal where we have to pay some of his wage. If it was 6&7 from GCS, i reckon we would pitch in up to 200K per annum. But Trac also needs to consider whether he is willing to take hit to make his services more lucrative.
  2. Wow Pick 7 for Flanders does change the talk around Trac's pick worth. As others have mentioned 6 and 7 for Trac is very enticing. Even with the academy picks i'd still think that these picks stay in the top 10. GCS would be mad to give both of those picks for Trac though.
  3. Or its an admission that he needs some onfield leadership around him..some direction on how to play the role.
  4. So youโ€™re happy to finish 10-16 every year for the next decade?
  5. Its actually really admirable by to admit this. He is clearly a level headed, humble person and that is a fantastic trait. It really is a pity that those around him could not challenge him to overcome some of these things. People like Richo, Pert, Choco et al are all partially accountable for this as it doesn't solely rest on Goody's shoulders - Richo more than anyone else as id see it as his role to define strategy, purpose, gameplan etc, while Goody was more about putting that into practise onfield. Nevertheless, whats done is done and at least it doesnt appear that Goody is overly salty about the move. And hopefully in time, will come back into the club to celebrate our next major achievement or reflect on those in the past.
  6. Yeah i think we are 1-2 years away at targeting a 25/26 y.o Free Agent in the mould of Melksham / Hibbo. We need to hit rock bottom and be seen on the up before a worthy FA would look to come to us. Right now, its hard to say which we are going. Id be putting in a lot of work on Butters right now. Lets hope that Hawks land Merrett this year so they are out of the picture. If we trade Trac and get him off our books, I'd put a massive contract in front of him right now and get him thinking long and hard end of next year when he comes out of contract. Wed also need Port to have a crappy year as well for this to work. Wed be up against the Pies and Blues competing for his signature though so it will be a hard get but not impossible.
  7. Strange decision until it isnt. People more than me have made this appointment but it will be questioned in the media spotlight no doubt. Assuming King had a say too?
  8. And if he wants to tear up and renegotiate his salary with new club to meet our requirements then we would support that too.
  9. For all those having a crack at May - take a hard look at yourselves. The guys is the toughest and angriest bloke in our team. Its a dying breed in AFL unfortunately . Yes he can be a bit of goon and have tickets on himself, but which player doesnt? Ask yourself: Does he wear glasses to the Brownlow? Does he kick up a stink because he had some ribs broken and stared death right in the face? Did he do a runner from the hospital? Die he ***&*S&D*D& (redacted due to an ongoing Geelong related matters)? NO. He shares his thoughts over exclusive dinners with his teammates and sometimes they dont like what they hear..but its sorted out then and there (he cant help himselves the odd waiter/waitress got caught up in a bit of playfighting). This bloke said what everyone wanted to hear at the 23 B&F about Collingwood. Even If you dont want to it admit publically, dont kid yourselves because you were proud and agreeable when he said "We would have smoked em". Because we know it to be true, we would have. If he goes, i'll be little sad because the team would stand up a little taller knowing May was playing full back.
  10. Firstly, good if true. I wanted to comment more on Twomey. He needs to be careful with his presence because he is starting to become very McClure like. Earlier in the week it was Adelaide and nothing else. I get he probably has pressure from the executives to generate clicks and headlines, but not at the cost of his credibility. Im starting to take everything he says with a grain of salt now.
  11. Trac hasnโ€™t been the difference this year in any of the games we have won. He played his role well most of the time but never ripped a game apart and willed us across the line as he has done in the past. Maybe he builds up to it next year or maybe he doesnโ€™t , BUT he will not be the difference between us finishing 14th and last. Thatโ€™s just absurd.
  12. How have you not figured This is why having Adelaide involved makes sense. GC gets points from picks to be used for NGA bids Adelaide gets Trac and gives picks MFC get Flanders and picks and loses Trac. Itโ€™s arguably a win -win- win. Everyone gets what they want.
  13. I think expecting pick 6 to come back is a bit much from a GCS perspective. Probably a 2nd rounder is more fitting or if we give them pick 23.
  14. Pies fans will blame the umpires. The irony. Well done Maxy.
  15. What a stupid GOTY and MOTY
