AFLW Trade Period 2025
This is going to be an unpopular view based on the thread so far, but I think the Zanker deal is pretty good. She’s uncontracted for a start so makes it harder to push when she clearly wants to go. Looks like we may only use two draft picks, so getting one in the top 10 is super handy and the other will likely be mid teens if the deal with GC goes through. And we end up with two future second round picks. Yep, it clearly impacts the starting team, but with Harris staying on it gives Gall an opportunity to shine, as well as Campbell and Hose. I’m also not sure that Zankers record in finals is that crash hot either, that’s probably the biggest knock on her to this point. As for Johnson, would likely have been delisted anyway. In terms of what the bigger picture looks like re draft/trade/list management, I really think it’s not bad at all.

Grading the Trade Week
Getting a bit picky here, but these aren’t just ‘trade grades’, it covers the whole free agency period as well, no way Brisbane get an A+ on trades alone. As for the Dees, B+ for me, higher if we don’t have to pay so much of Clarry’s wage. Go Dees.

Fingers crossed for this outcome

NON-MFC: Trade Week
Sydney red-hot favourites for Curnow now surely. Would think this pushes their chances significantly next year, key missing link for them. If they stay fit will be hard to beat.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Excellent point. Would be disappointed if we gave this up under the Trac trade, would be opportunity lost.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Reported on around $1.4m a year. Has been nowhere near that for the past couple of years and it appears with King that he wants players to play multiple positions. It’s a huge chunk of cap for a player to doesn’t fit into plans. As sad as it is, it makes sense to pay some salary and invest in youth. Realisitically our next window (for a flag) is 3 years away by which time Clarry will be close to off the books. Take the future 2nd/3rd rounder and move on?!?!

Bailey Humphrey
Agree, do we have the guts to do this though? Personally, I’m not sure that we do. If we do, we need to do it quickly.

Oliver Florent
He’s a rubbish kick, it’s why he couldn’t get a game this year.

💯would take the biggest defender and give JVR and Kentfield a better crack in my opinion. The alternative is the same as we’ve seen the last couple of years.

Agree. Nothing against Jack Henderson but a bit staggering that he got chosen before Jai. Take it though.
