  1. Had my doubts on Angus. Was flirting with the idea of ‘would you trade Brayshaw for Zac Jones’ earlier in the season. Given his last month, I certainly wouldn’t do that trade.
  2. I told everyone as soon as we called out Clayton's name, that he will be a star and reach higher levels than Petracca. Most people disagreed. YOU'RE MY BOY CLAYTON!
  3. I'm very surprised Charlie didn't get a week. He was intentionally holding back an umpire from getting close to a melee. That's intentionally touching an umpire, is it not?
  4. When it's your turn to go......You go....
  5. How can anyone say there is nothing in it with what Charlie did? The bloke is half holding back the umpire and placing his hand on him trying to prevent him from getting to a wrestling contest likehe's a young kid trying to hold his mum back from getting to his brother to give him a smack ?? I reckon there is more in it than what Hawkins did.
  6. Players hold off all the time. Especially if they’ve been injured or playing out of form. If they know they can only increase their value by backing it up in the seniors, they’ll take that opportunity to squeeze more $ out of the club towards their contract. The media needs to disconnect themselves from thinking that putting contract talks on hold, means they are thinking of leaving the club.
  7. Clarry is already one of the best extractors in the AFL. He fights and fights for the hard-ball and always seems to hit a player running into space to completely open up the contest for us. Most AFL players handball to stationary team mates, which loses all momentum and allows the opposition to lay a tackle and create another stoppage. Clarry has that instinct to choose the right target almost every time, which creates that huge run of play streaming into the forward line with one incredible handball that goes completely underrated. I'd rather him do that 80% of the time if that means he kicks it less. His handballs are a LOT more effective than what most people/media think. It's hilarious.
  8. The more Tmac plays like this, the more clubs are going to be adding numbers to their cheques directed at McDonald. He's now a dead eye in front of goal, is great down back, and can play pinch-hit in the ruck and be utilised as an extra mid including the wing. Not only that, but leads the time trial every single time and is a running machine. Every single club will be eyeing him at the end of the year, and we are going to look to have to pay the big bucks to retain him. If we pay Lever around 800k a year, Tmac should be worth 900k...
  9. Saints odds at $3.27 are looking juicy with these likely outs.
  10. Out: Weideman, ANB In: Pedo, Petracca.
  11. 1. Weid provides great forward pressure, tackles hard and can make a contest. 2. Wagner continues to impress and surprise me. 3. Oscar is quickly cementing himself as a very reliable and lock down defender.
  12. Out: Kent, Harmes, ANB, Stretch In: Spargo, Pedo, Lewis, Fritsch
  13. ANB, Stretch, Jetta, Hibberd, Hunt, Garlett, Jones, Vince, Lewis, Tyson, Harmes, Melksham (except last night) have all gone backwards this year..Other blokes have stagnated. Our midfield aren’t sharking our massive advantage of us winning the hit outs. Hence, getting dominated in the clearances and around the ball, when last year that was one of our greatest strengths. Hogan being pushed up the ground means our forward line structure breaks down. We only kick goals when the opposition screws up, or we kick a chaos ball bouncing every which way and hope it lands in our lap. Hibberd and Hunt seem to have lost confidence in running it out of defence. Meaning we just play it so slow and allow the opposition to easily set up and run back to zone and man up. None of our players have confidence or instructions to want to kick dangerously and hit a target in the center. Instead we play it safe down the wing, allowing them to easily predict what we are doing. Trash all around. Confidence needs to be instilled. Respect needs to be earned again. We’re the most predictable and one dimensional team in the side. We simply need to take more risks.
  14. Question regarding seating. Just realised my provisional MCC membership won’t get me into this category one game and all GA tickets are sold out online. Will tickets be available to purchase at the gate if I go early enough? Say around 5:15pm? MCG posted on Facebook tickets may not be able to be purchased at the gates, but unsure if they are doing that so people panic and pay a premium for more expensive tickets online. Cheers!
  15. IN: Hunt, Pedo, Hannan, Tyson OUT: Harmes, ANB, Lewis, Frost
  16. I think the conditions suit us more than ever now. It looks as though we are kickint it long at all costs. With hawthorn who are heavily reliant on controlling the footy and hitting up targets, the wet weather should play into our favour, especially if we are bombing it in our forward 50 for our smalls to crumb.
  17. I think we will struggle with Hawks forward line. Too many cheap off the pack and out the back goals from players like Bruest, Puopolo, Riolo will hurt us.
  18. Assistant coach: “I think we should stick Oliver at Full Forward and isolate him. See if he can snag any goals and put us up by more” Goodwin: “LOL, nah that’d be too easy for us. Let’s see if he can get over the tag physically and mentally even though the game is well and truly on the line” Yeah, makes sense.
  19. And Grimes, Townsend, Butler, Mcintosh, Castagna, Caddy, Broad, Vlastuin, Grigg and Lambert.
  20. I said to my friends at half time at the game that Oliver needs to be played and isolated at full forward as he was getting held well by Jacobs. Why did it take Goodwin up until 3 minuets left in the last quarter when the game was iced to tactically make this move? As soon as he did as well, he kicked two goals. Baffles me how Goody didn’t proactively do this earlier.
  21. Ben Brown gets his goals easily against us when we are pushing up, and get caught off guard. When they rebound we are always looking to scramble and get a fist in to spoil. Need a body on him constantly with great closing speed as Brown is quick off the mark. Frost suits this perfectly. Will allow Lever to zone off and play that intercept/spoiler for what he's known for.
  22. Out: Wagner, Harmes, Bugg In: Frost, Brayshaw, Stretch
  23. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-03-27/top10-under-23-we-rank-the-young-guns Ben Guthrie rates his top 10 under 23 years of age. We have 3 players that feature in this (4) Hogan (6) Petracca (8) Lever. Surprisingly no Oliver, however, if you think about the list we have and the talent that is under the age of 23, it's going to be amazing just imagining what our team will be capable of when the main core are all 25-26 and used to playing with each other and the chemistry and bond they will all form.
