  1. Yes, as someone who grew up in the states I can verify that this is pretty spot on. We leave for college at 18 and that’s kind of when you’re supposed to fully step into adulthood and out of the family home. The pandemic paired with cost of living has definitely changed that a bit. But even so it’s been an adjustment for me living in Melbourne to see people living with parents into their late 20s and to not see it as a bad thing. We are told you’re supposed to be out when you finish Uni and into your own life and being at home any longer means you’re unsuccessful/lazy/can’t make it on your own. Add it to the list of the many absurd aspects of American individualism/work culture.
  2. Nathan Kreuger and Joe Richards and they’ll even throw in a bundle of sherrins for training! How generous!
  3. On second reading you are definitely right. Haven’t had my coffee yet and at this point no level of ridiculous takes from the AFL media would shock me. Thanks for pointing out!
  4. Damo: “he may want to consider a LeBron James-style broadcast to announce his next club of choice. Imagine the boost, Christian, of those Instagram followers. The NBA icon in 2010 revealed his decision to leave the Cavaliers for the Heat in The Decision, a 75-minute broadcast, with commercials, on ESPN. Ooooh, the tension, as we wait to hear, from 'Brand Petracca' himself, the football reasons as to why he wants out of the Melbourne Football Club.”
  5. Half of our best 22 re-sign in the past 3 months and mention being thrilled to be at the club *crickets* One player who is clearly going through a lot and is obviously getting bad/weird advice is unhappy and they’re trying to resolve it internally *EVERYONE PANIC!!! THE CLUB IS FAILING US ALL!!*
  6. This wreaks of an attempt by his camp to shift the media narrative back to being sympathetic to Trac and making the club the problem and away from the absurdity and selfishness of wanting to move clubs to grow your “brand.”
  7. So I’m originally from the states (I know, I’m sorry, it wasn’t my choice) and I’ve spent a lot of time watching diva players in sport (NBA in particular), but usually they have some level of leverage and/or only request a trade when they know other teams have the assets and interest to trade for them. The thing that gets me about this is I literally cannot see how Trac believes he has any leverage or other club interest at all. As many others have said here, when you combine the massive salary, the likely repercussions physically from the injury, the mental toll he’s discussed, the age, the toxic diva behaviour, and the assets required to get him, burning bridges—no matter how troubled the club is—seems shockingly ill advised. This is all just so bizarre and I feel like it’s inevitable that I catch your collective MFCSS after only a few years of membership… 😢
  8. If we’re going to make #BlandPetracca a thing and my social media career is taking off, I don’t think Demonland is the forum for me anymore. Perhaps I’d like to go to a bigger forum, where I can grow my audience and fulfill my lifelong dream of making inspiring egg cooking videos sponsored by the Australian Egg Association.
  9. As someone who works in this space I would say that without his footy talent his cooking stuff is pretty average at best. He’s not particularly charismatic on camera and offers really nothing unique or compelling in those videos aside from “footy player who also cooks food.” Without the footy, “brand Petracca” is pretty bland.
