  1. So why haven't they given up? It seems pretty futile.
  2. So it won't get done then? There is no way the club will settle for that.
  3. This is true, and it's important to note that Damien Barrett is critical of the AFL on a regular basis.
  4. Like how Dan Houston said he wouldn't be traded and now is being traded?
  5. Because it sounds like no-one did actually get blind drunk and abuse players. WCW, who was there and was liaising with players refuted that in her post. I think the reactions to that contributed to why she's now left the forum
  6. On the tradies podcast, the paycut was Sam McClure's suggestion. I reckon he just said to the source at Geelong "would he be interested in a paycut" and they didn't refute it. Also "award winning journalist" is a stretch. Wasn't his award rescinded? This still reads that Melbourne are holding firm and he will not be traded.
  7. Geelong aren't going to pay that amount.
  8. Could they just stop!
  9. The only team he bags more than Melbourne, is North Melbourne, who he does support. But he has a weird obsession with Geelong.
  10. Didn't a poster on here say that a question was asked about Oliver a couple of months ago and the club didn't shut it down? I think it's pretty obvious that Geelong contacted us about Clarry because it's been common knowledge they have been after him for a while. It sounds like lamb is telling the truth when he says we didn't shop him around. The question from Geelong wasn't shot down and then was leaked which is why Melbourne look really bad. It sounds like Geelong are just feeding the media in the hope we will crumble because of all the bad press.
  11. Ah that makes more sense. But that is exactly what happened though. I guess that's why I thought you were quoting them directly.
  12. Wow. I guess we know where the story was coming from. That is so aggressive and really bold to admit it openly. I guess that's why the cat's usually get their man.
  13. Can he stop kissing the cat's arses for once? Obviously the cats have been leaking to him. It's gross.
  14. What feedback from koz's fam?
  15. Surely his management won't like that.
  16. Can you expand rather than just posting the same thing. Just like Trac, he has a massive contract, so Melbourne still have the final call.
  17. "The Cats – even as they explore the feasibility of a trade and have established themselves as the preferred destination for Oliver if he leaves – are mindful of the reality that the midfielder, a four-time best and fairest, can only be recruited if the Demons are willing to strike a deal and that Melbourne can take the same position they ultimately did over Christian Petracca in holding him, despite his interest in a move."
  18. I've gone for them all my life, and will still support them but I'm not going to renew my membership until I feel better about the direction the club is going in.
  19. The Demons could still be prepared to keep Oliver due to Simon Goodwin’s strong relationship and belief in the brilliant onballer who has endured some personal problems off the field. Geelong would have to consider the resources and support Oliver would need at the club if he is able to complete the trade to the Cats. But the problems at Melbourne go well above the senior coach as Pert called at least one rival club with the list management committee’s full support in the hope it would be kept quiet. But the call was leaked to the media, prompting Oliver to speak with Geelong chiefs and players on Tuesday. In the two days since, Oliver has been prepared to assess whether he can play in blue and white next season. A trade, while it remains incredibly difficult and far from certain, would be one of the biggest bombshell exchanges over the past decade in the AFL. It could see Geelong land Bailey Smith from Western Bulldogs, Carlton’s Jack Martin, and Oliver, who is one of the top-three on-ballers in the game at his prime, over the next fortnight. But any trade would go down to the wire as the Cats believe the ball is in Melbourne’s court now after considering trading him to either Adelaide or St Kilda last season due to some behavioural concerns and professionalism problems. Oliver has addressed those problems this year, although they remain a work in progress. Collingwood traded gun pair Adam Treloar and Jaidyn Stephenson, sparking outrage across the industry in 2020, but won the premiership in 2023. Melbourne is currently in the process of reviewing the football department amid serious concerns about the club culture. There is a view at Melbourne the club needs to make serious changes after failing to win a final in the three years since the 2021 premiership
  20. If Kosi stays and Trac is staying I will feel less sad if we lose Clarry (as long as Gary Pert leaves asap!).
  21. Why Port Adelaide?
  22. I'm asking if you know for sure if he's gone. Sam McClure is the only one who has said that Clarry wants to be traded and even then he has said that Clarry knows that it will be difficult to get done.
  23. Is that your opinion that he's gone? Don't the club have to accept the offer that Geelong give?
  24. I think back on all the drama that's happened at the club since 2020 and it's all happened under Gary Perts watch. He is the one that needs to leave. I think he's making Clarry the scapegoat to save his own hyde.
  25. They've had the property for ages. His wife has posted pictures of their renovations on social media for about a year now.
