  1. The club has made many mistakes with mature players and i cant think of any other club thats stuffed up like we have: Billings, Schache, Fullarton, Sharp, Grundy, Tomlinson were all mistakes. The Grundy trade put us back miles with list management. The rest were all players who could not make it at clubs that were at the same level as us or below, I dont understand buying someone else's rubbish, the wade derkson obsession on here baffles me for the same reason, been on the giants list since 2022 and hasn't looked like cracking a senior game. I'd Much prefer to see the club invest draft picks on kids in the national draft, it's always a gamble with the kids but it also comes down to environment, culture, team mates, friendships, a number of things can affect a kids development. Alot of negativity on here towards Kolt, I personally think he will be a player, he has the energy and motivation to be one he just needs the opportunity not in for a game and out for 4, abused by a selfish petracca for not passing it to him etc etc, kids like seston, verral etc should've been given exposure at the top level when our season was done, if they don't get near it or show anything, delist them. Not clog spots for 4 years to be delisted with out even being tried. Melbourne's problem is since the flag, there's been the majority of the side drinking there own bath water and need a reality check. If I'm list management I'm moving heaven and hell to explore every crack and opening to bring Luke Jackson back, and doing what ever that takes he is the number 1 target in my eyes, regardless of what he is saying now the fact it's even mentioned means there is an opening there somewhere. Secondly I'd be into Beau McCreery, he has something we are missing badly, speed and want for the footy in one player. Thirdly Brody Mihocek, I dont think this will happen and suspect he will stay at the filth, but who knows, if they bomb out I'm tipping they will have a massive list reshuffle too, as all good clubs do. We have the polished midfielders in the kids we have in Windsor, Langford and Lindsay, I just don't think they can advance with trac, Oliver and viney in the middle. Viney needs to be moved into a high half forward role or lock down forward, the game has gone past him as starting centre bounce player - ie what dimma had done with Touk Miller, not needed in the middle now so been pushed back and is kore valuable than ever now. Not sure if Petracca stays but if he does, I'm hoping whoever takes this job on cam put some of his ego back into his football, clarry is needed - obviously had a rough couple of years but it can't be easy going through the challenges his had in a professional and public program, needs to find his feet asap and if that's not at Melbourne then so be it. But we don't need anymore list cloggers from other clubs rubbish piles, and ffs stop with the stone throwing at first and second year kids, big difference in a 19 20 year old player to a 22 23 year old who's been in the system for 4 or 5 years. I've said in a previous post somewhere, I'd love the club to bring back Brendan McCartney, great with developing kids and a great mentor. If we can manage to beat the filth Friday night and really stuff there top 4 chances I'd call this year a break even.
  2. Any decent future coach looking at this is like "[censored] that", pea hearted efforts all day. Disgraceful effort.
  3. I'm here if anyone's keen 🤣
  4. So much bull [censored] and negativity from supporters, living in Geelong I thought cats fans were quick to kick the boots in!! If anyone hasn't heard Max's triple M interview from the other day, have a listen - absolute class act. There's alot for this side to play for now even amid change. Players proving there worth for a new coach being at the dees or somewhere else. Any game day issues from the past can now be reset and no doubt there will now be players and potential coaches watching on with invested interest in Sundays game.
  5. Whoever it is, they MUST have to come from a successful program ie; Geelong, Brisbane, Hawthorn etc, even a massively successful 2nd tier comp we still have both Alan Richardson and Mark Williams in the background. Steven King is a highly regarded person and coach from all reports. I dont like the idea of Buckley, Simmo or horse, their time has come and gone. A fresh voice and hunger to succeed. I'd love to see Brendan McCartney back at the club, great person, great with the young fellas and has a great no [censored] policy.
  6. Class act in his media conference, alot to be said about the incoming board though- clearly a decision they were involved in, and I felt the club needed some representation from that board besides Greeny - he looked lost with some of the answers. In all I personally think the club would have allowed at least 2026 for goody, but I guess time will tell now about that player/coach love they had, and I think we will get a fair understanding with that come the trade period, I've always said this club has been weak from a whole, but hopefully now with something as ruthless as this with 3 games left in a disappointing season, a shift will come that sees us become more aggressive with list management, and staff management. I really thought a few of the assistants may have got the tap on the shoulder before Simon, but I just pray that they already have someone decent in line. In all just another chapter to the comic that is the Melbourne footy club. Interested to hear what Max has to say. Cheers Goody.
  7. I'm hearing ya. But there's still currency there for a Collingwood or Carlton, where i think he would thrive. We just aren't a destination club, and we won't ever be when our leaders are showing pathetic body language, its a job and players want to play where they are happy just like every other job place. The game is just going past our senior players at a rapid pace, we got bluffed into a contract for viney, don't know why the Kolt was dropped after last week, I love his energy and mongrel he has, just far to many holes from a playing list side of things.
  8. Trac doesn't look like he is interested one bit, not sure if his currency is worth as much as 2 years ago. Hates the contest and is constantly pissing and moaning in the back ground, definitely doesn't like being in kozzys shadow. I wouldn't be one bit upset at the moment if he was floated for a genuine forward, one that puts is hands up to mark and kick it through the big sticks. If they don't wana be there let them go. With our pathetic forward line set up, why isn't Jefferson put back in, we were never in the finals hunt this year, get games into these kids.
  9. Painful 2 hour drive home, no radio just silence. 12 pages of terrible umpiring so won't go there, but in those 12 pages not one mention of Levers contribution today, he has been horrible all year, pre and post injury. Watching him kick for goal pre game, maybe swing him fwd see what he can conjure up, I didn't see him miss, and disco has his spot covered down back, anyone has to be a better option than JVR at the moment. Yes he doesn't have the opportunity at a full fwd time game, but what forward does now? Still makes my blood boil that 5 mins into the last qtr, we have Max, pickett and clarry on the bench, only way to win close games is have your best side on the field, not terrible rotations which left kozzy stranded on the pine for 10 mins. Bad kicking and bad decisions is bad football, and tonight although having 24 pos, trac was horrible, looked shy to compete early and disposal was [censored]. Lastly, starting windsor as sub and then subbing out Lindsay isn't the best way to keep these kids growing, 4 or 5 senior players could have well been subbed out before X. Tough month ahead on the road.... GO DEES.
  10. I wouldn't have him captain Anakie reserves. Beating Sydney's twos last week definitely gave the boys an arrogant placebo. Sorry Koz, time to find out what you've really got now a second rate mid has found you out, massive game for our A graders next week. Still scratching my head as to why Johnson was subbed out for Laurie when the game was still well and truly winable for again someone I wouldn't pick at Anakie twos. He was the only one giving a genuine contest in the F50, only thing he did wrong was not hit WM hard enough. Surely my TV wasn't the only one in danger in demonland tonight. Weak, Insipid performance in the Alice yet again.
  11. Agree, watched him last night walked away from the bont and demanded Bowie take him, at a F50 stoppage, guess who got the clearance, and who never got near it!! He never stands along side a big forward when needed, the intercept defender he was is gone, he is too slow for that role, alot of dynamics wrong with this side at the moment, Vineys not getting near it, Oliver's not interested unless he can push and shove although he couldn't bruise a grape. Unsure why Tommy sparrow is in the firing line with supporters, he puts in when he is in, always chimes in for a goal and is good at the contest, young tholstrup is the only that flies the flag, things like this go unnoticed but he dragged Garcia away from Oliver when they were jumper dancing, assuming to tell him to FOFF, went back to Oliver to lift his spirits, olive gave him donuts and walked straight through the kid, so many of our premiership side walk around with there head so far up there [censored], should have sent petty to Adelaide, cannot see any upside to keeping him, bring in the big Texan for 2 years and develop Fullarton, and try and bring in a b grade ruck from somewhere, nevertheless we have made some poor recruitment choices during trade week the last couple of years, imagine we persevered with Grundy and Jordan for one more season both would be regulars and we wouldn't be on the verge of bottoming out during a time when we should be well in the premiership window still. Having said, can't underestimate the loss of Brayshaw more than anyone, praying trac can get back to full steam next year. As long as we beat the pies Round 24 now. GO DEES
  12. Fellow Demons, first time post after a disappointing night at marvel. Just thought I'd put the feelers out to see if anyone has one of the old style duffle coat/trench coat they would want to part ways with. Long shot but worth a shot. Cheers Go Dees
