that’s why they’ll get it. The AFL protect the strongest. Except when it was Melbourne in the 60’s.

I am not knowledgeable about the history of the club but, what happened between the MFC and the VFL/AFL? How did it fall from grace in two decades?

Very hard to imagine such an historic club and winning club could be left to wander in the wilderness for so long.

Looks like we could notch up a fair few this year:

The big one to look out for: Petracca in the Finals series potentially.

Spargo just needs a couple more to hit 100. Pickett will likely get his hundredth, and Sparrow's a good chance in the finals too assuming he plays every game and we make it. Tomlinson would be doing pretty well to get his 200 this year.

Don't know why but I thought Fritta was going for 200 already.

McKay was widely seen as a player that lacked the required hardness and hunger to make the most of his talent.

On talent alone he was top 5 easily.

I watched him live 3-4 times in his TAC Cup days and he would often drop out of pack for the Joe the Goose or sweep past his teammates for the handball receive. He didn’t act or play like a KPF.

Other times he’d pluck the ball out of the air like he was a man amongst boys and dob goals from outside 50 without raising a sweat. I’d turn to a colleague and we’d discuss how frustrating a prospect he was.

I saw less of Sam but felt he was a 2nd round prospect and his lack of games has never really surprised me.

On Curnow, how can't that be considered tampering? So basically you choose your destination because of your relatives? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s on again for our Crows match on Thursday night!

By all accounts last Saturday was a great success. A room full of loud and proud passionate Dees fans revelling in that incredible match.

Great food, great beer, great atmosphere and all for a great cause: FightMND… Love you Neale❤️💙

    THIS TIME, BE THERE! 🥳

Is this going to be a regular fixture for the rest of the season? I would like to go but can't make it this week.

Any more interstate games for which this will be organised?

    Total gun. Believe the hype.

I still think we're a real chance of getting him.

West Coast is a disaster zone. I honestly can't see them making finals for at least 5 years.

Their list is terrible. Just one example - paying gaff 800k a year to play in the WAFL.

They need a rebuild just to get to the stage they can do a rebuild.

Will Reid a Melbourne boy, really want to spend 6 or 7 years playing in a rubbish team in Perth?

Who would be the top 3 destinations for Reid in Melbourne?

I seriously hope it isn't one of Collingwood or Geelong.

Meanwhile it's all going swimmingly well over on the PA boards today....

    USELESS.

Average performance by Melbourne. Should be smashing sides like us.

Can’t remember a performance worse than Lachie Jones. Momentum killing uncontested dropped marks and fumbles galore. I have no clue how this guy has a gold pass to play every week.

So ******* tired of this losers club. We already knew the main guys are losers. But so are thew new guys we brought in.
So is this new leadership group we put in. So are Rozee and Butters ultimately. ******* no one wants to win.

Dixon and Finlayson can [censored] off the side just because of their set shots in close games for all I care.

That’s the biggest disgrace I have ever witnessed. Umpiring totally ruined that game. Melbourne didn’t kick a goal that wasn’t influenced by them. I am done.

They should play the Umpires’ song after this game.

When the [censored] do we get home town umpiring like the crows.
    What a disgrace.

    Umpires go * yourselfs.

Mentally weak. That and a lack of forward structure have been on Ken's to do list for the last 12 years.

That loss says absolutely everything about us.

The same old Hinkley s**t of the past decade. Try hard, but mentally weak as [censored]. Get on top and hand over momentum instead of being ruthless. Kicking set shots like [censored]. And to cap it off ridiculous umpiring on our home ground.

    Another year down the drain.

We lost because of bottom 6 players are trash, barely SANFL standard, and we have an ever increasing list of s**t scared guys who pretend all day long.

Dixon and mcntee have no forward craft , Jones is the worst defender in out history , ratugolea is average , Evans state league player.

They didnt even have May lol. Imagine our score if they did.

That stupid attempt from Esava to mark the ball on the goal line looking pretty costly now. Simply a dumb footballer.

I swear Gawn doesnt get away with half as much scragging against other teams as he does against us.20 more inside 50s, more scoring shots, more possession, double the marks inside 50, almost double the contested mark, more tackles...Oh we lost. Also we were gassed as * and somehow used 10 less interchanges that we had available lol..

What a disgrace.. our tall forwards are [censored] weak under pressure.

    Sack Hinkley.

Can anyone kick a ******* goal under pressure. They are kicking them from everywhere. Every ******* week the same [censored], s**t entries, it’s like we have no gameplan.

Seriously it comes down to Dicko not owning up the moment and missing easy set shots. Their Beavis and Butthead did not miss even the hard shots at goal.

If we didn't make everything so **** hard our players would rely more on their natural game and instincts. We are badly coached, badly motivated and short on critical skills (and decision making). All of this is fixable, but beyond the current incumbents.

I've had enough I'm going back to the Sack Hinkley page.

    and my personal favourite...

Didn't someone at Richmond say it was their win over us that gave them the belief that they could win the whole thing in 2017?

Brisbane and Port the most underachieving lists in the last 6 or 7 years. And with huge home ground advantage on top of that.

Told ya about Jeffo. Had a rare off day with his accuracy but marked at will.

With JVR he is being made to ruck at 193 cms which is pretty hard for starters and then when he is forward, the ball is again being kicked high to a pack, hence his high flying miracle attempts.

When he is given some decent passes, combined with his accuracy at goal kicking, he will produce some very good performances.

He also provides defensive efforts. Last night he got a key contested mark with 2 minutes on the clock and Port just bombing into our 50. Those can be game winning one percenters.

It is an absolute shocking draw. I mean you couldn’t disadvantage a team anymore.

Glad the team has made a mini holiday out of it for the club - it may actually end up working in our favour.

Meanwhile Port has 3 consecutive home games, but they lost the first one 😁.

And sorry to be a downer, but I thought Hore really struggled. Was often the man in the hole and only got it right once in the second quarter.

I wouldn't play May against Adelaide, but if we do, Hore definitely comes out for May.

I say we give May an additional week to fully recover. Just keep Petty down back.

Sam unfortunately never displayed the hunger or physicality to become a reliable KPF at AFL level. One of JT’s few misses, but it is hurting us quite a bit

Curnow, McKay... What could it have been ? 😭

Gruelling game, 31 degrees in Adelaide today.

How do you get this team up for another game in 5 days time? Can we expect at least a few rotations?

At least the club did the sensible thing and stayed in Adelaide.

No more red eye flights across the country and short prep for next game.

That was one of the great wins.

Made more remarkable by watching some sort of mirror footy game.

One team dominated territory, clearnces and inside 50s. But often entering into a crowded fifty and missing key chances. Not taking full advantage of momentum.

The other team staying in the game  absorbing pressure in the back half, entering into an open forward line and taking key chances. Taking full advantage of momentum.

    Go redlegs.

It's like the reverse from our QF and SF last season 😅

It can’t have gone entirely past the goal line if it hits anywhere on the post. It was a behind.

    Can we really know that?

Weird angle, and the post is thinner at the top. I can see a scenario where a ball with too much spin goes through the goal line and then out to the post on the other side.
