  1. The ‘one is enough Saints’ take yet another decisive step to ensure that they certainly won’t be contenders in 2023. Their supporters are just about guaranteed to know what it’s going to feel like barracking for a football club that hasn’t won a flag in 57 years. Something that not even we have had to experience. (Phew).
  2. Agree. Backline has been very solid so don’t rob it to fix issues with the forwards. Mids also very solid when not plagued by injuries. Just need to avoid getting injured (luck plays a big part) remain fit, and rediscover their killer / domination instincts. Win the contested footy and deliver it to our forwards quickly. Our forward line was our Achilles heel last year but not totally their fault. The delivery of the footy to them was not great. Appeared to be very one dimensional and slow. Fingers crossed for TMac and BBB to overcome injuries and play out year. Time for JVR to strut his stuff on the big stage. I believe Lachie Hunter is a blessing in disguise. Someone who has smarts and can deliver to the forwards. Schache hopefully gets a new lease on life and becomes another forward option (or at worst a backup). And then lock it in there! I think I’m an exception but I always liked big Max filling holes in the defence rather than playing forward. I would even keep Grundy out of the forward line. Just imagine our two big ruckmen either getting intercept marks or bringing the ball down to our advantage from the half back to half forward line. Can we bring home the bacon? Bloody oath we can! Bring on 2023, I can hardly wait.
  3. They don’t deserve Yze as a coach
  4. And when he faces up against the ferals I want to see him looking very angry
  5. I’m not bitter Hope we smash Freo when we play them whenever and wherever. Hope they don’t make the finals and we snag a flag in 23. Ahh, I feel better now
  6. Football is a tribal sport to me. Put simply, Luke Jackson is now an enemy to me. GO DEES!

The way I see it Tomlinson appeared more likely than not to continue in the two’s. So if he is moved on and replaced by JB who also plays in the two’s, it at worst is a net neutral outcome. (Aside from a back being replaced by a forward). However, if he comes good in the two’s, there could be some real upside, if and when we may need some ‘forward power’ options. Chances of this occurring? Pretty high. Aside from JVR being a cleanskin with plenty of potential, both BBB and McDonald who were quite banged up last year appear to be no guarantee that they will make it all the way through next year. We then have another option to consider. If it happens that JB comes our way for 2023, am I excited? No, but I would get it.
  8. As mentioned in a earlier post by Jaded No More that he lives / lived with both Jackson and Bedford (one gone and the other looking to go) wouldn’t help one iota! Hope this gets sorted sooner rather than later for two reasons. a) team stability for 2023. b) I don’t think I could handle another year of ‘will he, wont he’ like what happened with Jackson this year!
  9. Hmmm, be a nice kind of irony if the next time we play the Ferals, we win with Grundy playing for us🤞
  10. Just listening to the Neal Daniher audio book where he mentioned the importance of the club, that being the board, football department and players all being aligned, plus an element of good luck to have any chance of success. To me (as an outsider) it appears that they are, therefore I live in hope that we once again will be serious contenders in 2023. Getting the fans on board would be an absolute bonus, but I am painfully aware of just how prevalent and imbedded the MFCSS is……but I still live in hope.
  11. I love it. Right now at the very least, we are contenders. For the best part of the past 6 decades I could not put my hand on my heart and say that we were a realistic chance. Right now I can! As the season progresses I hope I can up the ante (like in 2021) and with hand on heart say that we are ‘serious contenders’. 🤞
  12. Gearing up to learn to like Grundy. To be honest, it won’t be that hard to do. But please, never ever do I want Ginnivan’s name associated with us. Ps- I’m not trying to start a new rumour or anything like that, he just really irks me, that all.
  13. Hope Hird gets the Essendrug gig. Good for two reasons, first being it makes it easier to love to hate them that much more and…we get to keep Yze
  14. Yep, select a fact that can when taken in isolation can be used to distort the truth. This then ends up as being an alternative persuasive point of view or truth. He is an absolute expert at doing this. Worse still, people believe! Makes me wonder about Geoff Kennet’s clothing choice comments- when isolated can easily be excused for something you would expect from the older generation, nothing more, nothing less. No offence intended at all. When taken in context of what this thread is all about, as I said above, makes me wonder.
  15. When I saw the headline in eff head Bolt’s column in the Feral Hun I made a point not to read any of his comments. He specialises in distorting information. At best, I used to go to the back pages and read the sports section. Don’t even do that anymore. It is not a newspaper, it is a Murdoch tabloid that is full of extremist views, positions and full of misinformation (Trump, politics, climate change denial etc etc). And finally….we’ll done Daisy
  16. I’m pretty sure nobody has ever won (the GF) outside the top 8 before! 😉- … but I do like your sentiments about the Ferals.
  17. Totally agree. It’s football and it’s tribal. So… thanks Jacko for being part of it in 2021. Hope you enjoy going home and I hope you don’t snag another flag and we of course do. Pretty simple, you are now the enemy.
  18. After all is said and done, more is said than done….Hmmmm
  19. Out - Hunted In - Hunters Big year coming up
  20. And after this post I’m signing off until next year. Make no mistake, I was gutted by the last two finals results and frustrated by most of the year. I reckon I only saw about three games where we played to the standard I’d expect of us. Don’t ask me why but I still back the players , coaches and support staff, in fact the whole club. I have high hopes and expectations for next year. Bring it on.
  21. Not an excuse but…….. had we kicked straight and actually got goals rather than behinds. Not only in this game but quite a few others. (Our first quarter domination in last night’s game was not reflected on the scoreboard, and boy did we pay the price for this later on. Shame really)
  22. There is a silver lining…. at least we no longer have to deal with Ticketek
  23. Latest forecast says a shower around 6 pm and that’s it for the night!
  24. You serious! (and I’m retired) I’m a republican but would have gladly celebrated the birthday of the Queen’s second cousin twice removed- if they had granted a holiday for it
