  1. Agility is really good but he won't be able to side step his way out of trouble like that at AFL level. I like that he's willing to take the hit that's coming to make the play.
  2. As posted in the 2020 Draft thread, Laurie had plenty of interest from other clubs around the pick we used: https://www.afl.com.au/news/533681/bids-bluffs-and-frantic-calls-inside-2020-s-first-round-draft-frenzy And we rated Bowey ahead of him.
  3. looking at the end of the number reveal video, Rosman already has very broad shoulders and well developed lats. He looks like he's going to be a much bigger more powerful specimen than Isaac Smith when he fully develops.
  4. Rosman is 194cm and Smith is 188cm - that's a fair difference
  5. 21 and 28 are open I wonder if anyone will move up? Bradtke? He's #46 now? There's also a gap between Nev at 39, Lockhart at 41 and Smith at 44. I wonder if there is a #50 locker for Ben Brown?
  6. How could anyone accurately rate the overall strength of next year's draft at this stage when everyone has been saying that this year's crop is underexposed? That goes double at least for next year's crop.
  7. "Even worse for Trump, the three judges he appointed to the court - Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett - all voted to dismiss the case."
  8. We're going back to 20 minute quarters and a 22 game season - we'll clearly need more midfield rotations than 2020
  9. We picked Bowey ahead of Laurie so we rated him ahead of Laurie. Therefore, ultimately the crux of your "shambles of a club" analysis relies on the idea that MFC rated Holmes higher than Laurie who Twomey, Balmer and Draft Central all had going to GWS at 18 well before our picks. Very keen to see your evidence of this if someone is going to get fired or sued off the back of it?
  10. Twomey had us taking Carroll with our first pick even though we didn't even take him with our third, but yeah he knew exactly what was going on in the MFC recruiting department.
  11. Thanks Leo - good info and an easier read than Ulysses.
  12. Seriously, you're a very good poster but I hope you've re-considered this diatribe. There is absolutely no evidence that we rated Holmes ahead of Bowey and Laurie and the fact that our interest in Holmes (along with a number of other clubs) was in the media could easily have come from his family or his manager. We generally don't leak. The actual upshot was that Geelong were so freaked out by the possibility that we might take him with one of our picks that they paid a high price and traded their 2021 1st rounder for him. Note that we got both Bowey and Laurie for our 2021 1st rounder.
  13. Spoke extremely well at the Members' info night. He's mature for his age and quite clearly articulate and intelligent. I was also impressed with the story that he worked incredibly hard on his fitness this year during Covid. If he can make it in football terms he will be a great asset to the club. Could well be a fan favourite!
  14. I was booked to Perth in July this year for the Freo game. Hoping we get a match there somewhere around that time next year.
  15. Only Gawn, Oliver and Salem are "must-sign" next year. Weideman probable.
  16. Melk and Jones have done a lot of pre-season running at TBO.
  17. I note in the club email about the night there's a link to other's video presentations but just a link to a transcript of Goodwin's.
  18. They traded a future 1st and 2nd AFAIK.
  19. Have no idea about the players but I like their types for our needs.
  20. Right as usual Goodoil, they've got the Dogs 2021 2nd for Treloar so 2021 1st rounder is still in play
  21. Collingwood trade 2021 2nd round so they can't trade their 1st round now - bit of a surprise.
  22. Phantom drafts already down the drain ...
  23. I think it depends on where they believe McInnes will be bid and if they want him. If they believe he'll be bid before 14 then this could be a good deal for them - they'll lose 18 instead of 14 and will have an extra pick up their sleeve in 28. If they believe he'll be bid after 19 it could also appeal because they can pay for him with 28 - if we hold 14 and 16 and "agree" not to bid and they hold 18 and 19 then the only risks that exist are GWS at 15 and Richmond at 17. We might telegraph that we're keen to bid on him at 18 to lubricate a deal.
