  1. I was there last year and at the Swans-Eagles GFs. Honestly not sure how I would cope with that level of stress if MFC were involved. I was there in 1988 and 2000 and what can I say? I'm hoping for a Cats 2007 experience for the first of the 4-peat to ease into it.
  2. 5 ideas apparently are too many for some.
  3. What do you want to leave out?
  4. Yes that's great work! Go Demons!
  5. Yeah and the other 2 times you thought you made a mistake. Channelling TGR?
  6. Reading the coach's report I'd say: In Moloney, Trengove Out: Morton, Jurrah
  7. Nasher - new clubhouse leader! maybe change your login to "rainman"? 1. Nasher 2. Tighten 3. HT
  8. The bookies have Brisbane favourites - "follow the money" is usually a good idea. A win for us would be against the odds.
  9. I think you're selling him short - as usual it's not all about stats - he was good and there's a massive step up from VFL to AFL that he was negotiating - those making a case for retaining him see continuity important in making the transition. Someone had to be unlucky because Junior had to come in - it's unfortunately Maric.
  10. Might help anyone else going to try if you deleted your answers above ...
  11. Clubhouse leader! Wont say which captain number I got wrong because it gives a clue to what it is.
  12. Without external information: 1. Name the 16 AFL captains and their jumper number? 2. Select any jumper number you like - name the player at each club wearing it? Don't post the answers, just your result. Mine? 1. Got 16 capatins and 15 numbers correct. 2. Best result was 11 number 5s.
  13. Development has to be balanced with best at this point in our climb. Watts wouldn't have played a game if it wasn't.
  14. Lions to play well at home and probably win - Demonland to go into meltdown because it shows "nothing's changed". Brisbane's last 3 Gabba outings: R10: defeated Collingwood by 8 pts R13: lost by 19 to the then rampant Tigers (who had smashed West Coast and then beat the Swans either side) R15: lost by 14 to St.Kilda It's a bit like Adelaide in Adelaide. Perspective improves mental well-being.
  15. I'd like to win games and improve our ladder position in 2011 - it's the next key step in our development. I think a decent ruck is vital. Jamar of course provides this, but he's been injury prone over the long-term. I'd be unhappy to see our 2011 propects go down the toilet with a Jamar injury. Spencer may eventually be a Jamar alternative but he's still a fair way off, not to mention Gawn and Fitzpatrick - get out your binoculars. There's a separate question about 2nd ruck/marking forward - I'm looking at primary rucking to underwrite our 2011 season. I'm no big PJ fan but there's a strong case for giving him another year. Otherwise we need to trade into a ruckman who's ready-to-go (a la Swans-Mumford) and there'll be a significant cost in trade and TPP to lure him - it's not an easy sell with Jamar there.
  16. http://www.afl.com.au/bailey%20ladder%20predictor/tabid/13046/default.aspx It's gonna be tight and come down to %: Port (2 wins) = 28pts Melbourne (1 win) = 26 pts Richmond (1), Brisbane (1), Essendon (1), West Coast (2) = 24 pts
  17. It's one uncontracted player per club - they're allowed up to 16 uncontracted players - they said they're targeting less than this. The only club that would leave the uncontracted player option open with is Melbourne. It makes sense for GC but it's very hard to see how MFC would benefit from this.
  18. It's a good post - Chris Johnson became a good player in my mind every off-season.
  19. take a million monkeys and a million posts ...
  20. Newton has always had talent - that's not his problem.
  21. B+F votes per game last year led by Jamar - if he played all year he won the Bluey. It's injuries that stopped him recently, not form.
