  1. The formula is so clear from these two finals: 1. Attack from minute one, instead of when you're already multiple goals behind 2. Kick goals instead of behinds (duh), i.e., score when you have momentum 3. Nope just two.
  2. Also need to attack from minute one instead of from the start of the 3rd quarter.
  3. The ability for teams to rebound quickly and score goals (against out of position defenders) has been so evidently effective across these two finals. We need to use that as our plan A instead of a last ditch effort in the final quarter.
  4. Jeez the blues ability to get fingertip to ball on the goal line is elite.
  5. Give me a good Bowey arrow inside 50 and even I'd kick a goal against Carlton. Give Curnow a rainmaker vs Moore and Howe and even he couldn't do a thing.
  6. We can't kick goals when we're icy. This team is so timid and "cerebral" it kills me. A bit of fire might actually be a good thing. Think 4th quarter when we had to actually go, and we did.
  7. Roo is tiring anyway and IMO is barely best 22. Melksham is a big out but is only good for 1-2 goals per game. I don't care who you put in our forward line anyway. Forwards kick the goals but they don't create them.
  8. Did it just fine last week and the week before that and and and….
  9. Please everyone cool it with the straight sets nonsense. It may happen but there's no point whinging about it based on two sides playing a game that doesn't involve us. You're just doing your own heads in.
  10. Because we're bad or because the oppo are good?
  11. Who is this post for? Is it venting? Do you think we care? Do you want to be proven right? Is it a way to hedge against the worst possible result. Would honestly love to know.
  12. Who's kicking it in there? The ball ping pongs out (giving us record inside 50s) because the mids delivering it in are too timid to get it in quickly). Clean up accuracy and get it in quicker and we put q4 on the board instead of quarters 1-3.
  13. Dees and Pies are still likely the best 2 sides in it (Brissy in Brissy probably 1st-and-a-half). Sucks to be 2nd best on the night last night but we're still a red hot chance to make it to the GF.
  14. 24 hours on the lack of maturity and poise in the 1st quarter demonstrated by our premiership side was the most disappointing thing.
  15. Sorry you feel that way. I recommend reading a book or something. There are a few good ones that have been written over the years - try a comparitively joyful one like Grapes of Wrath where nothing bad ever happens and the good guys always win :)
  16. Jeez how important is it to start finals well. Think back to our start to the 21 granny. It just set us up so well. Collingwood and Carlton the same here.
  17. I'm forcing myself to watch (on mute) because I don't want my frustration to turn into disinterest with what should be a fun sport to watch.
  18. Rough night and morning for me. I never do this but I've found myself getting into arguments with Pies fans on social media and have just had to just shut it all down. Can't read any more stupid posts about nose beers, Simon Goodwin/dees fans "sooking", 10k Melbourne supporters at the game, snow jokes. Just an awful bunch of people and I can't be dragged down to their level. It's not worth my time and sanity.
  19. I couldn't believe how often our mids would have the ball 70 from goal and wait 10-15 seconds for Collingwood to get back and set themselves before bombing it to Moore and Howe in a pack containing McDonald/Fritsch/JVR. No forward could save us from that. It's the midfield stupid.
  20. Starting to win a few more contests but our method going inside 50 is deplorable. Only Bowey and rivers showing any poise. Would have loved to sneak a goal in the back end of that half but Collingwood backline too solid.
  21. You say pressure I say opportunity.
  22. What about picturing Elliot leading Tomlinson 3 metres behind with a look of defeat on his face? Glad that's not going to happen.
  23. I'd like to see us use Oliver as the ruck sometimes in the forward 50 especially if he's being tagged. That worked quite well the couple of times we tried it (against Hawthorn?).
  24. I thought it was funny as well. Guess humour is subjective.
  25. Contest and defence fall apart in the wet? Interesting.
