They are always going to put the whistle away on contentious decisions last quarter in close games. Always. Reckon it's an AFL decision, not individual umpires making the call And then afterwards, 'nothing to see here' I could bet my left 🥜 on it every time

At the time, I said to the guy sitting next to me in the stand that they would not change the umpires call no matter where the ball was, as they no longer change decisions or make contentious decisions in close games. It's real 'head in the sand' stuff from the umpires dept. The JVR trip is absolute proof of that. What I was more disappointed by was the insipid attempt at goal line shepherding by the Melbourne players. They were out of position and made feeble efforts too late. Doent matter that the ball came in fast from Trac, someone, anyone should've been on the goal line ready to shepherd. And don't get me started about Salem's shot on goal from 48m out when Kossie was in front of him running clear for the pass 20m out, 45 deg angle. Easy set shot. Do they put horse blinkers on when they get the ball inside 50??? Arghhh!
