Keep up the great work fellas. Disco Turner forward was a move that none of us saw coming. Does he keep his place when BBB is fit again? Or does Petty make way, possibly to find some form? Assuming we don't play all of Disco, BBB, JVR and Petty in the same forward line, what is the best mix of forward talls? And for that matter, is Petty a better 2nd ruck than JVR?

I think the club was looking at it at the end of last year before he got injured again, or they didn’t have the guts to pull the trigger on it in a final.

    Just started it.

    Upon reflection.

Given how flat footed and error ridden we were again by foot.

Is it too audacious to hint at the fact Selwyn may have put abit of extra loading into the group to utilise the extra bye we get this year?

Knowing full well we have enough talent to beat the tigers at 75-80% rat power?

It’s arrogant to plan a few weeks in ahead, but maybe the club is putting more weight into the upcoming games against the Cats (who we have an extra 3 days break on) and then the blues (5 day break).

These upcoming games are Top 4 shaping games. (8pt games dare I say it.)

I take on Binman' s stats about the quality of centre clearances.

The ccs weren't the issue for me. I thought the midfield problem was generally their lack of impact in general play. Often when they did get the ball ( and statistically they were all down on disposals) it was the errant disposal. If it wasn't for our backline it could have been a very different story.

I could agree more. I’m pretty sure I also said we could hit the side of a barn by foot?

Which is what’s making me nervous going forward.

Again, look at @binman's post. They failed to score a single goal from stoppage.

You're just inventing a different game inside your own head. It's very odd behaviour.

You too, dazzle. You can like old Reemer's post all day, but your viewpoint is detached from reality.

At what point did I say anything about them scoring from stoppages?

The point I made was that we were smashed in them. Luckily for us our defence is out one wood. Against better sides, we can’t afford to be belted so hard at the stoppages.

When did we let them waltz it out of the middle? They had maybe 1 or 2 put the front clearances the whole night and so did we...

You’re kidding aren’t you? The centre clearance may have been even, but everything else was deplorable.

Have read through about half post game thread and it is a pleasure not to see any critisism of the umpires.

It is just possible there may be some comment on the Richmond fan forums.

Struggling sides give away or don’t get free kicks because they don’t play the percentages. We used to whinge about it when we were [censored].

Why? We're 5 and 2, and it has little to do with centre clearance numbers...

If we let Carlton waltz it out of the middle to Curnow and McKay it won’t be 23-24 at half time.

    It’ll be 23-76

We also couldn’t hit the side of a barn when we did turn it over last night, can’t blame fatigue like against the lions.

Yeah, and lowest score by Richmond v Melbourne since 1965. Woeful.

We had our worst 22 or loss the round prior.

Followed by our worst 43 pt win the next week.

Any danger of winning a centre clearance? Or any clearances at all?

I think there’s enough excuses to say we can write that one off. They flogged us in rd2 last year, we got junk goals after the lights came on and made it respectable but they flogged us and in the end we still finished top 4.

Tonight Trac and Oliver had 20 and 18 respectively, that never happens and you wouldn’t think it’ll happen again.

It didn’t look Melbourne-like at all when we had the ball, rushing, bad decisions, indecision. I think it was an aberration.

But (a big but), does make it hard to have confidence until we prove ourselves again. Need to go 2 out of the next 3 to be a contender I think.

That’s two ordinary showings from Oliver in a row.

He ain’t the player he was.

Um no great loss, just ensure we get great draft picks

We don’t need draft picks. We’re in the window “apparently”.

We need a key or Mid sized key forward with natural forward craft.

Also our fixture is pretty funny now for a bit:
    - 13 days til Richmond
    - 10 til cats
    - 5 til baggers
    - 10 til meth coke

If we are the real deal we should be coming out that with 3 wins.

  12. I’m not worried, as @binman often points out.

“We are clearly in a high density loading phase..”

What the club is loading, I’ll leave that up to Demonland to elaborate on.

3 changes in 3 weeks with 2 away games in those “12 days” which isn’t 12 days as we would have had 6-7 days leading into the port game.

We can’t carry Oliver if he is going to serve up that garbage.

If you have the SEN app, they have a feature where you can sync their commentary to the video broadcast and even adjust the delay manually if it's not correct. Connect your phone to a Bluetooth speaker and you have Channel 7 vision with synchronised SEN commentary. Not a single wowee to cringe at all game. It's life changing.

The AFL should have an app that lets you sync any of the stations up to it the game.

My kingdom for when fox get to call every game.

Win wasn’t flattering, but to come away 4-1 with 2 wins in Adelaide is outstanding.

I said I would be happy to be 3-2 after this round so this is a great position to be in.

Win next week heading into the bye and the lids off.

So far I think outside the Port game we”ve been favourites.

The lid comes off if we beat Carlton off a 5 day break post geelong at the G.

  15. I just watched the Mitchell post game presser. He was pretty humble about his team getting their pants pulled down.

His smugness came out when he said he thought Petracca wasn’t dominant today..

He’s had bigger games sure, but he walked it out of their “gun” midfield which is supposed to be their 1 wood and made them look like boys!

I’ll never get sick of pumping the dorks! Watching their supporters have nothing to cheer about was the best part for me yesterday.

  17. Apologies as I haven’t read all the replies.

But for me, we can’t afford to have/carry/play, Chandler, Laurie, Spargo (I’ll give Billings a pass barely played) all in the same team.

I was amazed to see Spargo playing given he has been injured most of the last month. All 3 of these players are too much the same, no real pace, don’t get enough of it and can easily be exposed.

Last one for me, gee Schache is a a disgrace. After seeing a little in the pre season. This guy is a typical list clogger. If he wasn’t tall he would have never been drafted. I can see why they didn’t use him in that semi final now. He is as soft as pensioners fart. Having said all that I bet Goodwin plays him again against the dogs.

And every player taking the opportunity to bump into him and block him when he is running contest to contest.

What annoys me the most. Is not one of players seems to care or at least try  to even up on the opposition ruckman.

This needs to be addressed ASAP.
