He may not be psychologically ready/able/willing enough to do a live interview? He went through a life threatening situation about 3 months ago. That can really affect a person. It has nothing to do with being a maturing man or a leader. Mental health issues can be crippling and can happen to anyone. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is immune from mental health issues.

Mason Cox is slow… but he’s also very very tall. Being a small, outside player than isn’t an amazing kick and mid paced makes his lack of overall skills all the more glaring IMO

The speed factor is huge. For the kind of player he is, he has to have speed in terms of AFL standards. He just looks mid paced.

For a 19 y.o. playing his 9th/10th game, I reckon he could be doing WAAAAYYYYY worse

Yeah I’m the same. A concussed player and ‘duty of care’ guarantees he’s gone even though it’s just looks to be a well executed hard bump. Oh wow, I thought they would have given him 4 so there’s a chance he could make the Granny. Maybe that will be the case after the appeal.

I’ve seen the clip a couple times and it just looks like a really good hard bump with no head high contact (there might have been but I can’t see any).

Nah all good re: it being aimed at me. I can’t speak to much of that as it is hypothetical/speculative but what I will say on a personal note: In 2020 I got sick and had to go to Hospital. I was in extreme pain and was given morphine to treat it until they couldn’t give me any more pain killers. I went through 5-6 hours straight of 10/10 pain. Sounds weird but I didn’t know pain could be that bad. Point is, it was absolutely horrific and it changed me as a person and probably took me a good couple years to fully get over. So I agree that people are being too harsh on him. Does that mean he is incapable of doing wrong? Nope. But maybe 2 or so months after being in ICU, he is probably not going to have a proportional response to what he normally would emotionally.

I’m not trying to join in on the pile on and am genuinely asking: If Josh Daicos wanted to leave the pies, do you reckon they would accept pick 32, Jake Bowey or Tom Sparrow and a late 3rd rounder?

This is the part of the story that doesn’t make any sense to me. Basically everyone knew of the seriousness of his injuries, so all the players must have known. He can be in recovery and doing nothing here, or up there. What is the difference and why would anybody (including players that found out late that he went there) care?
