  1. Your assuming this. This is Not what I'm getting at. Bigger biceps is your thinking, not my idea.
  2. Oh, you must have assumed I'm suggesting he put on weight.? Wrong. Just doesn't appear to have been in the gym a lot, but might be wrong of course. And Brayshaw as well, is carrying a body of boyish proportions. The club has to set higher standards physically, than they have ever done before. These two boys should be leaders of the near future, and should be looking to carry more weight of responsibility, as near future leaders. Its time for this group, inc Petracca, to finally step up.
  3. I love the photo's. It starting to feel more like footy season.? And love Harmes's Ink. Come on Oli. Get some. Tracca to.
  4. No, that's not enough. We want our players to be thorough Pro's. Not near enough, good enough, Jaded. For too long we around Melbourne have made excuses for our loved top players. We let them off the expectations we place on other players. This is not only inconsistent for the list, but its a bad example on the younger players, coming through. And can breed a laziness into the squad. We can see the change so far, in Petracca. Hopefully that will translate in a much better midfielder. Its time for 'Oli', to step it up, and also Brayshaw. We need these boys to hit their straps, before the likes of Gawn and tMc start to wind down with age.
  5. I loved this game, 'sons'... thanks for reminding me.
  6. Yes. I'm aware of the Todd Viney thing; which helped, i'm sure... but those things only last for a short time, before wearing off... you know 'changing spots', and those things. But in St Pedo's case, he maintained his effort, and workload, and really became a true Dee... highly respected. Which was hard-earned. Just as it should be.
  7. Blease gives me the sads. I picked him after a game at the 'G', when I went to watch Hurley and Watts. I came away thinking, unsure, of both Hurley and Watta, on this game... but others that took my interest were both Blease with his dash, and David Zaharakis, who had been previously overlooked iirc. Blease straight line pace, and Zaharakis good run with a step and change of direction. I chose Blease ?... This was before the flood became a nightmare, and the side step became paramount.
  8. Wasn't Phil Gilbert amongst the recruits when we got Pike.?
  9. Based on his early successes, how do we know it wasn't a 3rd possibility.? How do we know it wasn't other players leading him astray off-field.? I heard watta was a strong influence on on some of our other players... I think I heard,? was it Petracca, was a buddy.? I'm not certain now.? But I do recall hearing he was an influence on some, after dark.
  10. Rockets to click.? Or maybe Marriage, and children, and becoming a Dee, entrenched in the team fabric. being accepted.? I am guessing, but in Cam's case, I reckon it was likely something that added to his confidence, and completed him... rather than some, who need being lowered a peg or two, before they wake up.? Or a combo of the above. He never appeared to be a big head to my eyes.
  11. Now your cottoning-on Dr. Melbourne was no standout, until after Checker turned up. That lineage then began... the Demon Fire was lit.
  12. The Melbouurne Storm is a good comparison. They don't have any heritage to bank from, but have created their own Identity, and built the club with successes and disciplines. and camaraderie. They have their home base. And a strong identity. They, are not an Illegitimate son, and the players obviously do not feel like a 2nd rate member of their base. They 'Belong'...
  13. Watta you saying, that it is a curse.?
  14. Does anyone else wonder how hard 'Oli' is working out, in the Gym.?
  15. So Jeffrey want to bring back relegation. How about we relegate every side, once they are out of contention. Then we can start a new competition with better rules, and less interchange players.!
  16. He was just startin to hit the high's, in his career. Barass was trying to put the squeeze on him (like smithy would do), to get the most out oh him. So he left. Took the money with a chip on shoulder.
  17. It doesn't play a huge part to the reason of our demise. It's only to do with the tiff between Board, and Norm, 2 years prior to Norm being sacked. Blew has nothing to do with why the club has struggled ever since.
  18. Blew or no Blew... its totally irrelevant, and just a sideshow to the real reasons of our deemise. The real reason is the disconnect between the Board and the clubs people. Hence the lacking support for Norm's position. And also the lack of support in finance to secure our players, and to build improved facilities for training, and socially. Not too much different today. So, the roadblock is always at the Board level, to provide the necessary action for the club to prosper.
  19. Yes. and its not good enough recieving propaganda in an email of letter sent out. We should be able to mix with these people at our home base, and to meet them after games. This will allow members and supporters to get to know the people running, or want to, our club. This would make a much smarter club, with real people being attached to the club. IF any had an attitude they were too good to be mixing with regular Mfc supporters, then they would be the wrong FIT, for our club. All for one and one for all. This way the supporters will be able to see and hear, be able to tell if the potential directors are right for this footy club. Democracy in action.
  20. I hope you don't think I'm edging at a coup... nothing could be further from my thinking. But you mentioned that we vote almost in a tokenist way... it should not be like this and any wonder we get failure as a footy club. going on mail with suggested prospective directors. I wouldn't believe any recommendation from the cricket hierarchy towards the Demons.
  21. I here there was 15000 mistakes.
  22. Probably not 'Pts'. But maybe change out bubblegum, for 'Fishermans Freinds', instead.
  23. I have some confidence in those of the Board at the moment. But my fear is what will happen at board level in just a few years to come... when we have all seen the outcomes of a half-century of Boards, structured the way we've all grown up with. we've gotten the boards we deserved because the supporter base votes on people recommended to them via the Mcc & Mfc. Without knowing these people.
  24. Is that where Kims ill son vanished to, for a few weeks. He was down at Casey Fields, all that time. Watching over the boys.
