2 meter Peter has been a great pick up for the Bombers. I thought he was a dud but he's turned into an excellent KPF. Another beautiful set shot to open his account for this season.

That ship sailed long ago. He won't be coming back.

Lovely to see the pies get pantsed on the night they unfurl the flag.

Swans are a proper team. Will be there or thereabouts this year.
-
I hope TMac goes well. would be unbelievable if he could rediscover some of his 2021 form.

The free kick against Balta for the push in the back, late in the game, in front of the goal, was a shocker. Perfectly executed tackle. should have been HTB against Carlton. I know its a tough game to umpire but that was pure incompetence.
-
Too subtle for me Mr Skuit. I'll know better in future.
-
Hi Skuit. As I’ve posted a few times in this thread I didn’t interpret her comments as a dig at our supporters. Others disagree as you would expect on a public forum.
-
why did the ump call back the play there when the tiges had a good advantage
-
never believe a Carlton player when it comes to goal reviews.
-
Tiges have to kick next one or its game over
-
Carlton fans look feral God help us if they have a good season. not sure i could handle it.
-
rubbish free kick
-
sorry. misread your initial post I though McKay was the most unreliable kick in the league but he's slotting them well this year so far. so there's hope for Naughton as well
-
Tommo must have ran over Goody's dog. He was far from our worst last week
-
Carlton butchering lots of opportunities. will laugh heartily if they lose this game after such a great win last week.
-
We'll see. He needs to get fit and back on the field first. great season in 21 but has been patchy since mainly due to injury interruptions. no doubt he's a quality player but his injury profile is the big concern.
-
She wasn’t talking about culture. Did you read the article? I don’t understand why everyone is so triggered by these comments.
-
Poor conversion by the Blues. I hope they rue their poor goal kicking at the end of the game.

blues well on top this quarter. feels like the dam will break soon

For the record i don't subscribe to the view that Demons fans aren't loud at games. I've challenged posts on here in the past saying we weren't noisy when i was at the game and we clearly were (at least where i was sitting anyways) I just don't think that is what Kate Roffey was getting at in her comments here. more members means bigger crowds means more noise at games. fairly logical comments if you ask me.
-
I read her comments as growing the membership so we can get bigger crowds along to the G. Don't think she was having a go at Dees supporters for not being noisy enough. maybe i misread.
-
I think Kate Roffey's comments are fair. Hate the pies but you can't deny their supporters are very vocal and get right behind their team on gameday.

“Collingwood members set the benchmark when it comes to achieving huge – and let’s be honest – noisy crowd attendances; and that is a benchmark we want to chase,” Roffey told this masthead. “I believe Melbourne can and should be a big club on and off the field. We have seen our membership grow to record numbers over the last few years and are on our way to reaching 75-80 thousand members, and I want to see that number keep growing. We have always had a great rivalry with the Pies on the field. Let’s add the membership-number challenge to that great rivalry off the field.” Roffey went on to explain that her remarks should be interpreted as a call to arms for Melbourne supporters. In 2023, the Demons had 70,785 members to Collingwood’s 106,470, while the two clubs’ average crowds, including finals, were 43,860 for Melbourne and 64,429 for Collingwood. “The crowd at a game makes a huge difference - especially a noisy crowd giving their team 100 per cent support. I’m not sure supporters realise how much difference it does make to players on the field - but it matters a lot to them. When the MCG is full and our members are making lots of noise it gives the players a massive lift out on the field. “I will keep encouraging every Melbourne supporter to play their part by getting to games, by being louder in the stands - and getting behind their players whether the team is five goals up or five goals down - because it does matter. Roffey admitted, “I may well go down in history as the only Melbourne president who has ever said anything positive about Collingwood - but in the context of the conversation I was having around the size of the club and crowd attendances I don’t think there is any confusion for supporters. “We love playing at the MCG - our spiritual home; and we want to see the ’G full of red and blue every time we play there. Our supporters are the ones who will make our club big - and I would like to see them filling the stands at every one of our games and being a part of our incredible journey.”
