I'm in the corporate sector. any firm organised event needs to be supervised including any after parties. OH&S requirements apply (there are some funny stories. there's always one). Staff are free to socialise together in their spare time and many do. as not firm sanctioned we don't need to worry from an OH&S perspective. Football clubs are different in that the staff are well known footballers. If they head out and about in Melbourne they'll be seen by the general public. I've run into footy players back in the day in various states of intoxication. Whatever about OH&S, the PR aspect means the club will want to know what the players are up to and who they are socialising with. And Mad Monday may not be club sanctioned but it's so well-known its quite likely OH&S applies. If I'm the club i would make it a club mandated event so i can ensure it doesn't go off the rails. If i was player, I'd be heading overseas. Vegas would be my go. Nobody knows who you are so if you do get in trouble much less likely to be front page news. No excuse for players to get in trouble on Mad Monday in Melbourne. Not very clever at all (Jordan De Goey would be a likely suspect though).

The boys should be allowed to unwind and relax a little. It's a long season. the problem is nowadays with smart phones and journalists it can attract unwanted attention. There has to be some kind of club oversight to make sure nothing happens that can reflect badly on the club. Which kind of defeats the purpose of mad Monday. No fun if the boss is supervising. That said I don't think the young ones today are as big into the booze as older generations. I'm not sure whether they have much interest in it anymore.
  3. Campbell has been very good this season so far. She’s an excellent long term prospect. Good to see Colvin make in the side after that long term injury. Hopefully she can find her rhythm quickly.
  4. what do we offer North. I don't think picks alone gets it done
  5. Would you swap Petty (significantly improves North defensively) and pick 13 for Larkey? I reckon I would (Petty is great but you would have to offer up something valuable). North have to get an established player. Picks alone no good. I'm concerned with Petty's injury record so could be convinced to sacrifice him. That could be win win? maybe? Larkey and JVR together sorts our KPF situation for years to come.
  6. We need a Charlie Curnow thread
  7. Entice Taylor walker to cross on a 2-year deal. better chance of a flag before he retires (although i tip the Crows to play finals next year)

We need a new QB. Dak isn't good enough, he isn't top echelon like you say. When the pressure comes on he throws interceptions.
  9. Have you been texting SEN @Nudge 😀
  10. Sensible point. I looked at the North Lions game last weekend. We're ahead of both teams in my opinion. I haven't seen the Crows play yet. We have a very balanced team. Good defensively, run off half back, a great ruck combo in Pearce and Campbell, tough contested mids, Hanks, outside run with Mackin, x factor with Bannan and the best KPF pair in Zanker and Harris in the league. We're going to be hard to stop. Prelim for sure and just a matter of whether injuries or bad luck derail us. Which can always happen of course.
  11. Midfielders award adjudicated by amateurs. Rapidly losing relevancy

Tmac can’t jump anymore. That’s fatal for a KPF. He’s purely depth next year. Not sure whether bb’s knee problems are curable but he’s a better bet than tmac.
  13. Noah Anderson polling well. He was very good this year. Would look good in the red and blue.
  14. Luke Jackson must be very inept with the ladies if he's bringing his mum to the Brownlow.
  15. Older than i thought i admit. depends on what age you consider young for a KPF i suppose. For reference Tom Hawkins is 35 and Taylor Walker is 33
  16. After signing a 6-year deal would make him nigh on impossible to extract from North. Can't see it but it's nice to dream, i guess. North did gift us BB after all.
  17. They should be. He's a gun. 71 goals in a bottom 2 side and an AA jacket puts him in rare air. Other than perhaps Curnow he's the best young FPF in the league in my view.

Cowboys not good enough today. Cardinals were very good to be fair. Dallas defence had no answers today. Cardinals moved the ball with ease. Penalties cost us. On big plays too (that old chestnut, McCarthy does not seem to have the cure for this disease) Running game in good shape. Red zone offense a big problem. Can’t get it done. Couldn’t execute on a 4th and goal and picked off on 3rd and goal (Dak tried to force it). Doing a lot right so still confident about the season ahead.
  19. I don't like bagging the boys. They've been great but a male equivalent of Hanks changes the game for us. Scott Pendlebury probably the closest comparison i can think of. Always has time and space. Rarely wastes it (although age catching up with him this year)

cowboys might let us down. The much-vaunted defence has no answers so far. Dak and the offense going to have to step up here. and the carolina coverage is very good so far
  21. Has the word guarantee been redefined?
  22. Trac is an excellent player. Very powerful and great in the contest. he can turn games. But he butchers the ball regularly. Terrible set shot for an elite player. Bont or Daicos don't waste possessions at anything like the rate Trac does.
  23. Jake Bowey was thrown in at the deep end due to injury and took to it like a duck to water.
