There is no dissent in Rugby Union. And it's not because the referees are better at officiating than our umpires. It is not tolerated pure and simple. Give the referee backchat and you go in the sin bin to cool down for 10 minutes. Down a man is a big disadvantage so guess what. there's no dissent. So dissent is easy to deal with really. It's just a question of the will to stamp it out. You penalise players until they learn that dissent isn't worth it. They will learn quickly and adapt the same as they do to any other rule change. It's just a question of the will to do it.
