  1. Take out his run ups and it's about 3km per game... ;)
  2. The problem is, that's already backfired badly for us once when the whole Yarra Park debacle happened.
  3. I personally trust the premiership winning list management team to get it done the right way...
  4. Yep absolutely, and all those coaches (Scott would be an exclusion given his first year) had their times when their jobs were in jeopardy somewhat. Maybe. I don't think that just because Rutten didn't work that every other 'first time coach' wouldn't work as well. For mine, more about getting one who has gone through all the training and processes, has experience and success, and then making sure they get the best they can to surround them with in terms of assistants, list management, footy boss etc etc.
  5. If you look at the premierships of the last 15 years or so the vast majority are 'first time coaches'. It's more about the development and experience before taking the top job, Yze has that in spades now.
  6. 🤣 “I was having a swim down at Prahran pool just before this and ran into a mate and he’s good friends with Steven May and James Harmes and the boys, and they said, ‘If we can keep Maysy and Harmesy and Melky and Hibbo off the p--- for four weeks we’ll waltz into a flag,”
  7. Ah yes, 'modern' theme songs, what could go wrong....
  8. Not exactly that stat, but for the year so far we're rated 14th for 4th quarter percentage. We've lost 10 4th quarters this year. (We're 1st for 1st quarter percentage)
  9. Memory is a little foggy from the broadcast, but didn't they say it was more about winning and keeping the oppo under 60 points? I think it might have been Nathan Jones who talked about it pre-game somewhere.
  10. I might message ya mate as some stuff I don't wanna post here, but as far as I know he's very very keen to be a senior coach so the GWS job was an option and moving the family was on the table - After that I haven't heard what changed which is what makes me wonder about Essendon.
  11. Don't disagree mate, but he's very very keen to be a senior coach.
  12. Pretty sure they meet more than that. I remember hearing Kane Cornes talk about an upcoming committee meeting only a week or so ago.
  13. Not even gonna complain. 6 in the squad is sensational, used to only ever dream of the day! Whether he makes it or not, congrats to Fritta too!
  14. Possibly, but I also know he wasn't super keen on moving the family while still at school. Wherever he goes he will be successful anyway I reckon. (I'd just hate it to be at Essendon)
  15. Have a really bad feeling this might be due to Essendon, but I'm hoping not... *This was done. Yze was going to be heading there. The only hesitation was moving the family but it was all set. That was until Rutten was sacked. (*From a VERY good source this time)
  16. Wouldn't mind a bit of analysis around our clearance quality and forward structure/efficiency since we put Jacko in the middle more and Gawn forward. Not 100% sold yet on Gawn as a forward, although that's maybe due to the goal kicking more than anything else, but since Jacko has gone into the ruck it seems we've got back a bit of that 'Bang Bang Bang Bang'. Gus could be an influence in that too maybe given his clearance numbers? It's also possibly a preview to how we would setup next year should Grundy come across.
  17. It's just a nomination on behalf of the club. None of our first year players have played a game, so they just have to pick the best of the bunch I guess.
  18. Geez gotta give credit to the Pies. Many thought they were cooked now and would have spent all their tickets. Pretty amazing run.
  19. Agree on all this mate. I just think there's additional factors this year, mostly injuries and soreness, that are making a difference to those second halves as well. Was massively important for us to get top 4 and have the potential week off, the bye is handy too I reckon.
  20. Again mate, I'm a loading believer, (if you read that thread yourself you'll see that) but the narrative from some there is to compare it to last year given we seem to have done the same thing then. But once again, in the last 4 games of the regular season this is the percentage difference for second halves: 2021 - 211.45 2022 - 99.32
  21. It's not just that game though. We've only won 2 second halves out of the last 7 games.
