At the end of the home and away season last year, Wayne Carey on Talking Footy showed the ladder and pointed out where Melbourne finished. He said if Gawn kicked the goal after the siren against Geelong, the extra win would of allowed Melbourne to finish second on the ladder. This is complete nonsense.
If Gawn kicks the goal, the future from that point onwards will take a different path. Who knows, the win could of made the team over-confident and they lose the next few matches. There's just too many variables. It's a very simplistic way of looking at the things.
