  1. Draper mocked the umpires in Adelaide and got what he deserved. No point spooking when things go sour on you.
  2. Agree again simplicity compared to the current dog breakfast.
  3. Perfection sought by the AFL is the enemy of practical. The AFL tinkering of the rules is an attempt to find perfection but in that pursuit they have increased complexity. Rules should where possible be made black and white to take interpretation out. For example out of bounds on full is an 100% unambiguous rule with interpretation limited to hair line decisions next to the line. But the basic principle is it in or out black and white. The closer you get to the contest the more interpretation come into it holding the ball is a classic of that. The higher the level of interpretation the higher the risk and controversy. Why not make holding the ball as black and white as possible. The default decision is if a player is tackled it is HTB. The interpretation is simply in the umpires interpretation did they have prior opportunity. A decision process like that is clear but the the process for the umpire is simple. If you read the current rule there are way to many interpretations this is what causes the confusion. The basic premise of how the rule is designed causes the confusion and ambiguity. Under the scenario proposed there will still be controversy but there will only one interpretation to argue not multiple.
  4. And you’re surprised the AFL is a racket. The different treatment of May and St Braydyn is chalk and cheese. With an ex Collingwood player as MRO the conflict is obvious. May was disgracefully branded a cheat absolute cricket about the thug.
  5. God Cornes is a goose TRSF doesn’t even mention Maynard. Compare to last week May was lynched. Then he says Swans are certainties for grand final. Do commentators ever get held accountable for their predictions. Every team has a slump so Sydney could well be ahead of them
  6. With this many variables why would anyone bet on footy. At least with horses you have a pretty clear path of preparation and only one selection which is complicated b 23 individuals all coming off a different plan.
  7. Fagan presser was interesting gave no credit to the Dees at all. The closeness of the game was due to their kicking and errors. The second quarter was also nothing to do with Dee’s. At least Goody recognises good play of the opposition. Fagan came across as a real twerp. Also does anyone know what the interaction between Fagan and Petty was at game end. Pretty intense conversation and it wasn’t pleasantries.
  8. Yes we faded but seriously we were given stuff all chance. Beating Lions in Brisbane a mammoth task. There were so many fine lines in this game. The last quarter fade out was expected but so many positives.
  9. That May mark is just indicative of this umpiring. We have stopped
  10. Lever holding the man play on. Don’t like to blame umpires Geez
  11. Clarry was bombing last week he at least trying to find targets. Kossie wow
  12. Paid it earlier cost us a goal. Wish Petty could kick
  13. Pickett has Starcevich terrorised. Love it
  14. Their kicking worse than us
  15. If you take a mark and opponent knock ball out of hand 50. Not if the game is in Brisbane. Love Roo
  16. It flying under the radar but are Dees completing a mini rebuild. Obviously losing Harmes; Jordan; Bedford was not great but was it a deliberate strategy to inject youth into the team. Maybe Dees are foregoing immediate wins for a longer term sustainable list. Players under 22 this week Bowey 21, McVee 20; Windsor 19, Tholstrup 18, Van Rooyen 21, Howes 21, Turner 22, Brown 19. That is a quarter of the team. In fact I think I am right in saying more under 22 than North. Maybe we need to be more realistic in our expectations and things are not as bleak as they seem. I think the worry is that our granite Gawny and Maysie don’t have a lot left.
  17. Whilst not expecting to beat Lions it the way we go about it that mean more. Is it just me or do we have any plan other than bombing the ball in. Nth repeatedly sat back know we had no plan B and then cut us up running forward. Full kudos to the backline it could easily have been worse than five goals in the last. Whilst Fritta didn’t lay a glove the disposal to him and others was woeful. It was all so predictable we rarely break lines and when we do we rarely find space. Surely the brain trust could address this as it so bleedin obvious.
  18. I accept that point about scragging but it his poor decision making when he has the ball and space. He burns his teammates with terrible disposal. It often set up a spring board for the opposition to attack. It is so sad to see a club champion fall to this level.
  19. Seriously something got to be done with Oliver and Fritta our ineptitude start with them. Oliver just panic every time he get the ball.
  20. Bomb it in run it out rinse and repeat. Coaching non existent
  21. Rivers is shaming some of his teammates.
  22. Oliver didn’t even look when he kicked that provided the springboard for that goal.
  23. Petty was clueless what to do with that ball so just kicked in hope we are hanging on with our finger nails.
  24. Fritsch effort was worse than Oliver there is something not right. It completely inexplicable players with so much talent are so bad
  25. Oliver cost that goal apalling
