Liked our win, and the period starting near the end of the third to the end of the 4th quarter. The fumbling in the early parts of the game worried me. I wanted to see crisp, clean footy. We're a powerful team and outmuscled the bloods. Turner worked his way into an OK game. Love his extender arms when spoiling from behind. Fritta's leading patterns are hard to stop, didn't miss a beat. Hard edged, with will power, and self belief. Not pretty, but effective as we win the territory battle. Played reasonably on a small oval, we are best on the big ones, I reckon. Looks like a few of the MFC team are carrying some niggles. Good time for a mini break. Bad luck we don't get two extra days, like the favoured ones do.

No idea, but Melky was ready to have a great finals series. Hope it was only a twinge/pinch, and the pictures come back without serious damage.
  3. Amazed that Nth have only about 6, 7 AFL listed players. Well done TMac, doing everything he can for an AFL spot. Harmes looks off. Spargo still plenty to offer. Grundy making an early impact. JJ goes about it well.
  4. Anyone know the team sheet for Casey today? Nothing posted on Casey website.
  5. Looks like Colly will win against Tigers (VFL). Tiges in similar position as us, AFL playing today, so not all players available.
  6. I'm over 60. If you work on personal development and search for freedom, you can find yourself, and dispose of the parental or societal conditioning that doesn't suit. Unlike our previous generations, information is now just a click away. We can have more understanding, with access to knowledge, than ever before in the history of us. Look what we do with it, rinse and repeat. Not many have time to discover, and experience, the simple and sacred, "being here".

    Is there snow!
  8. I am not a father. I guess that is why I have time on my hands. Bit of a conscientious objector. Not wrapped with where I see society heading.
  9. Oh, surfed around in the website, and it ripped me to the island of VFL match centre, which has the previous rounds game in replay. Thanks Tarax
  10. No split, on my old LED.
  11. A big game from Grundy won't go astray. Like the move of Jefferson to the wing. Gets his work load up, and gives us a different look at him. My guess he is an attacking mid, as I haven't seen him tackle with intent and consistency. We remain a strong and balanced team, go get 'em "Whitey". Desperation, pressure and holding the momentum, go a long way in "hard" games. A good experience for our youth. The build up can only set them up, for more to come. With the veterans offering leadership, poise and belief. Go Dees.
  12. Bad scheduling again. Seems I will watch Casey on AFL live app and record the Sydney game, unless anyone knows how to watch a replay of the VFL games? Can VFL games be watched on replay?

Yes, agree about the concussion protocol, and us possibly given "rasberries" by the AFL.

I am not too concerned with that. Our routine for a long break is 12 days. A loss and we get a longer break than the opponent. Win and we won't know what to do with our time (good recovery time going into prelim). I know, one game at a time!

I thought they may have put Tommo into Casey so as to have an experienced backman there, and to make it more probable that Casey have a game when MFC have a bye. As others have said, not much between him and Disco. So with Tommo as emergency, there goes that theory.

Did the AFL actually schedule this blockbuster, Friday night footy contest, not too long ago.

Wow, that is not even seeing the glass half empty. You have poured it down the sink. Do you think we have the "Collywobbles"? Do you think that is on the minds of the opponents? If so, we have already won the psychological game. Much better at playing the "G" (hope we get a few games there), hurting from those losses last season, we are a very good consistent team, with plenty of game options and we play with muscle (first time I have seen this in many years).

I was quoting channel 7. Yes, saw Grundy play at Casey.

Heard it is "Fritta and Tmac in, Grundy out", on the 7 news. Want plenty from Tom, and to just get some run into the legs of Fritta.

The team was not at Gosch's this morning.
  21. The following week is to our advantage, if Casey beat North. AFL get the bye, and those players that are underdone or need to prove themselves could get a chance, against the VFL Footscray team.
  22. Since Nth AFL play Saturday, the North VFL will have all AFL emergencies and others available, given that their AFL team is finished for the season. Can players who play a full game Saturday be available for the Sunday game? Their fans will also be able to be engaged. I would have thought, that the team above all the teams playing in VFL wildcard games, would get the advantages.
  23. Prefer your sources were right. Since Nth AFL play Saturday, the North VFL will have all AFL emergencies available, and their supporter base. I would have thought, that the team above all the teams playing in VFL wildcard games, would gets the advantages.
  24. After the heartbreaking two point loss to the Brisbane Lions yesterday, the Casey Demons now find themselves in a do or die Wildcard Round clash. Finishing in seventh place, the Demons enter the new format alongside Collingwood, Richmond and North Melbourne. Casey will play North Melbourne on Sunday 27 August at 2:45pm at Casey Fields. It is a win at all costs fixture with the losing team having their season end. The winning side will continue into the traditional finals bracket where sixth place Footscray are waiting. Thought Laurie offered a bit. Though, too late in the season to get more time in AFL, so as to continue his needed development. Cannot imagine him being delisted, there are other fringe players who would go before him. Is his contract up for negotiation?
