  1. Sorry I’m ridiculously late. Just got home from an extended weekend in Perth. Went to the game (I now have someone to stay with there 😁) What a great game. Never once did I think it was in doubt. Led all game and never looked like giving it up once. Our boys were superb. Getting back in form at the right time.

Only thing was the crowd was absolutely feral. They make Essendon fans look timid. Booed anytime they gave up the ball. Loud and abusive. Was called a few name by a few uncouth people (luckily I was defended by my man.)
Other than that it was absolutely freezing. Got absolutely soaked. We had to go to the apartment afterwards and change. And what they said about the noise was correct. You can’t believe how loud it is there.

But all in all, had a lovely long weekend. Hoping to go to more game here next year ❤️

  2. I was so proud of Kozzie today. Man of the match by a mile. Brown was really good too.

I’m very relieved to have won. It really took a lot out of us to dig deep and win. I know it was under difficult conditions but we really did struggle. I really hope we can come back hard against the Dogs, who are improving. Still a tough way home. I know we’ll be there, but I really hope we can at least keep a top four spot. We really couldn’t have afforded a loss today.

  3. Sorry I’m so late, but damn that was fantastic. Watched it fully expecting to lose. We made the top team look average. All without our captain. Our players really stood up to the challenge. This is by far the best game we played all year. Well done, boys

  4. I’m not upset we lost, I’m upset how we lost. We had them down and they came back and had the momentum and we didn’t even stop them. Many played below expectations. Bedford had a good quarter then stopped. We weee outmarked, by the taller players. Every time they got it I couldn’t bear to look up. Eventually shut off the tv in frustration. It’s like we just have to.

I know we can learn from a loss, but that wasn’t just a loss, it was a humiliation.
Now we Sydney and Collingwood (who beat Freo)

ANB said this much in a recent interview, that we are only 10-0 because of the praccy match

Well since that practice matches are considered training, not real matches, I’d say ANB has his facts wrong

  6. My word I thought Bombers fans were bad. They have nothing on north fans. Every time that there wasn’t a decision that went any other way then their, all booing and carrying on. The amount of abusing and whinging I heard all day was really pathetic. Considering how bad their team is, you’d think they’d be more humble

  7. Didn’t post for a while, but I actually got to go to the game in person. The guy I gave my barcode to, actually fulfilled his promise to pay for me to go to the game and stay over in WA. Really had a lovely time at Optus stadium and we got on really well and had a lovely weekend together. It was my first time at a game interstate (have only been to SCG and Canberra previously.) All this for simply giving my barcode away from the grand final. He promised if I did, he would. I didn’t really expect him to fulfil his promise, but he did. It shows there is some kindness left in humanity.

Thank you very much to (asked not to say his name in public) for a wonderful time 🤗

I think both Max and Dogga would have to be out for Majak to get a chance at seniors

In his premiership diary, he stated that Daw thrashed him in a scratch match. If Daw still can’t get a game, I can’t see the point of keeping him. I’d say he’s too much expensive for a player we won’t use unless exceptional circumstances

  9. Wasn’t too bad. A very sloppy quarter in the third allowed them to come back. Still glad we came back and won the 4th.

Gawn a bit quiet. Clarry had a quiet game. Bradshaw was fantastic. Top notch game. May another standout. Really glad to see that we have finally beaten a top 4 team so critics can shut up a bit

Just date someone who isn’t mad for any side and turn them. Trust me, it’s great. They don’t know any better 😂

Lol I’ve lost relationships over that.
Also, coming home can be hard. Luckily a friend drove me home last week, but I couldn’t ask that if him every week.

  11. Much as I’d like to, I can’t afford to go to every game. It’s not just transport, inconvenient times, getting home late, idiotic fans, it’s also costs money for drinks and food. Being single, it also depends on whether my family can go and they’ve got their own families too. I guess if I end up dating a demons supporter it might change *sigh*

I would have protested. He took a clean one-grab mark. In that situation, it's either a goal or a mark, never a behind. If he didn't take a clean mark and touches it before the whole ball is across the line then the only decision is a  behind. Extremely clear cut decision-making process.

There are 9 games every weekend. The way the AFL maximises it's  revenue is the Channel 7/Foxtel arrangement. The TV rights deal is how the game survives. What that means is only 4 or 5 of 8 games gets shown live on 7. Parking my Demons supporters position for a moment, the St Kilda/Port game was objectively more likely to be a close game (at least pre-5 players going down with COVID at Melbourne). It's not about who are the Premiers, it's about TV ratings.

Either go to the game or get Kayo. Or if that doesn't work, watch the entire replay on the AFL website the next day.

I meant if it was a goal or mark 🥱

I reckon the former ... the only reason i can think of is he wasn't 110% sure it was the big sticks it was going through.... in the end only plugger knows why though eh.  He was lucky it wasn't given a point.  I reckon he only just managed to control that before the ball fully crossed the line by a bee's johnson

I definitely could have seen that going either way. If it made been played as a point I wouldn’t have protested

  14. Just got back. Was lucky to have a friend drive me home. I thought Hawks dominated us t he first few minutes. Had to work hard to fight back. I could see we were tiring like the Gold Coast game. I don’t think we could have held them off much longer. I’m only more convinced than ever that Brown should ever play in the VFL again. Thought we ran out of legs towards the end, but no Dogga, Petty, Kozzie, Sparrow, Bullen or Goodwin, I think we can Take it as a hard-earned well-deserved win

  15. A win against Richmond is always welcomed. Still, I can’t believe how inaccurate we were. We could barely get past them. How many intercept mark did they take in our forward 50? Oliver, Bowey, May, Tracc all good. all we need to do it work on our forward line and we’ll smash the hawks

Yes there were a few errors - but she made some good calls too - including Langdon's blatant push. Rather a courageous call. Trac would be a bit cheesed off at Langers rather than the ump for that one after he saw the replay. To be honest, I was a bit more concerned with the 50 metre interpretations of the other ump  rather than her performance which I thought was Ok overall despite some errors. On most occasions she  gave very very clear explanations and instructions. Thats my take on it.

Have to disagree there. He barely touched him. I definitely did not see that as a push

LOL.  I was tempted to mention that Umpy, too.  Was the one who disallowed Trac's great goal.  To avoid the sexist tag, I was gonna simply refer to "the umpy with the high voice..."  Made several terrible calls against us.

Not sexist at all. She’s has no clue about how the game is played. By her rationale anyone taking a spekkie could be pinged for “in the back.”

  18. Had some friends over last night to watch the game. Really enjoyed it. A bit slow to start, but really solid in the later part. Petty was really good in the first quarter. Petracca was a return to form. Gawn, Harmes, Bowey, Kozzie all great.

One thing that did bother me, was that umpire. She seems to have no clue how the games played and likes to hear the sound of her own voice. I think she’s the worst one out there, and yes, I’m female myself, before you call me a sexist
