looks like still a bit of rain forecast around 3-6pm
it's a huge test for us today
i loathe all the franchises, but i reserve a special level of opprobrium for gw$, al begun before they'd even played a game from the get go caused by them taking away a #1 pick from us after he'd played a mere 31 games in red and blue
who was that player i cant remember

It's showtime, and your ever reliable Uncle Bitter is manfully shaking off a number of ailments to head to the G today.
My first action will be to pick up a footy record in order to identify half our team. It's certainly exciting times in terms of team development but we will need these new dees to earn their keep if we are to beat GWS.
It's just as well @picket fence is currently on a beach far away as his presence would be a certain danger to nearby spectators if Jeffo slots one.
Max will be the key to our mids getting first use so I expect we get plenty of opportunities inside 50. The points of interest will be just how and where we deliver it, and who steps up to convert. Kozzie has left a glaring and , no doubt , very costly hole.
Our experienced forwards must lead the way. I'm sure Trac will spend a lot of time forward and I reckon he'll need to kick or create 4 to give us a show. Hopefully Fritter can rediscover some form. JVR is also in for a testing day.
Hopefully, if those experienced players can produce that will ease the pressure and create opportunities for the new faces to hit the scoreboard.
This is a big test first up but geez a win would really kick start our season.
I'm tipping the Dees will surprise and sneak the 4 points.
In any event, the whips will be cracking at The Manor tonight!!!!
Welcome back BBO wondering where you were ,maybe in exile or strapped down if you know what I mean🤭

Been out of it this week with no idea what is happening. Was just driving down Punt Rd past the ground and turned my head to be pleasantly surprised to see the boys out there. I immediately pulled over into the river and am walking up now.
no wonder you are walking if the car is in the river

All players are here. I congratulated the debs and as I hugged each one the rest of the boys yelled and clapped, especially for Jeffo, they went nuts. X escaped my clutches but Maxy called him back. Maxy knows: keep the nuffie happy and she’ll leave you alone 😝
You really are a GEM

Yep, fair point.
But the speed i'm really referring to is what they call striding speed - ie the ability cover territory, say 150 meters, at good clip. Teams now need multiple players with elite striding speed to bolt back to defend turnover and on transition run hard to get ahead of the ball and provide a link up or inside 50 option. Nibbla is the exemplar of that sort of player.
when playing inside speed is the first 5 steps to get the break away ,striding speed is essential for the outside, think Langdon

Went back and watched the GWS Collingwood game, never seen a game more decided by fitness. Both teams looked pretty evenly matched at the early part of each quarter but Collingwood kept running out of gas the longer the quarters went on and that's when the Giants took control and scored heavily.
Will be interesting to see if our fitness is up to the same level as GWS.
or as low as collingwoods

I can’t remember, but I remember it wasn’t planned. It was one of those I remember what I was doing when it happened moments. It was swift but it was brutal. Seemingly we all came out unscathed.
Incidentally, at the time I was patiently trying to convince my 90yo legally blind then-neighbour that no, this isn’t his house, his house is across the road.
Understandable error by him did you call a cab for him

With a healthy list we should compete well against the giants. I have us between 6 and 10 ladder wise this year depending on health and fitness. Two things such as tweaks to gamestyle and kicking skills will determine if we make finals. Midfield is strong but Mayesy is in his last stretch and Petty should step up to help May out. Chandler is not the answer for small forward, and a lot is going to be expected of JVR. I'm tipping Viney will have a cracker of a year in a strong midfield ...if Viney nails a few more goals this year he could be AA.
top 4 easy prob top 2

I thought it was a bone in his foot, at the top of his foot (where shoelaces are). I’m quite sure that’s what he said. But according to my buddy he was running a lot today and it makes sense because we saw him taking his first run last Friday and he kept on running so I imagine he’s improving with each time.
run kolt run

There’s nothing hampering him. He’s training and playing as if back spasms never even happened.
Is that enough elaboration for you, Sire?
