  1. Development - big boys always take longer at the top level of football. You can’t get 50-60 games of experience without actually playing them.
  2. Exactly , but have faith he went above and beyond normal legal practices- and I would say from what I’ve seen was a lone wolf.
  3. The run from here ? - tough every game is winnable - every game is loseable
  4. Watch our bank balance change as we play two interstate teams in the territory - play those games in Vic and we would have lost money over the last 5 years.
  5. If Lynch leaves Gold Coast which I doubt he will be a Tiger for sure. Big 5 Vic club and in a premiership window
  6. B Jetta O Mac Lewis HB Hibberd Lever Hunt C Brayshaw Jones Petracca HF Melksham Hogan Hannan FF Garlett T Mac Fritsch FOLL Gawn Oliver Viney INT Tyson ANB Spargo Salem
  7. These are a beautiful set of numbers - long may it continue
  8. I agree with somebodies comments earlier - the AFL can "leak" thru the media and test public reaction before they make a move. They love this publicity.
  9. Wash your mouth out with soap - "sports scientists" are the core reason we have any issues in the game today - they fill the coaches head with all these "theories" and are responsible for nothing. I'm with AD - not sure the science boys do add to the spectacle of the game. in reality the complete opposite.
  10. Very interesting - Surely, I’m the last person on this site you have to explain that too. And what would that be?
  11. So what does that tell you? The AFL dont even trust MFC members to elect their own board & president - so what does that tell you?
  12. I'm confused - so you are now agreeing this is just a media beat up - because you enjoy the game. So on balance the game is in good shape - in your opinion
  13. Not sure where you get that perception. But I stopped reading newspapers many, many years ago and I would be lucky to watch the news twice a year. Public perception on footy comes more from talking and listening to people. You don’t get your public perception on football by listening to the media - - do you? But I’m starting to form the opinion around here most are heavily influenced by the media due to living interstate or overseas.
  14. The “press” is only a fad, teams are already breaking it down , ironically Tigers are probably best at breaking it down.
  15. Where is all this “the game is in bad shape” coming from ? Sorry, I don’t read the media - is one of the big newspapers running with the game has a problem type articles?
  16. What you also have to factor in - some teams use professional free kicks to slow the game down to allow them time to rebuild their defensive structures.
  17. Fair enough, if today's games of football do not inspire you - maybe you have to vote with your feet and if enough people join you - change to suit your way of thinking could happen. For me the VFL has evolved into an AFL 2nds competition because the AFL teams have the money to support teams to act as a development league for their players. Best of luck hope things change for the better for you.
  18. People ebb and flow with the weather, the teams results, venues, times etc etc etc Sponsorship & TV stations have the $$$ and normally a single consistent voice - not saying you ignore the audience but audiences are fickle. The game is in very good shape - IMHO all is well on the AFL "homeland" front now to expand internationally must be the goal.
  19. Not sure this is correct -AFL are just reacting to coaching changes and manipulation. But we have to face reality where the largest stakeholders in the game are the TV stations and their audiences - which moves with the times.
  20. AFL will always be chasing its tail on this issue irrespective of the rule it will take the coaches next to no time to develop a system to manipulate the rules. That what coaches do - it’s their job.
  21. Consider this, what are the things they did right. Write a list if you have to - only write positive things on the list. Then how many things on the list can you personally change? Then start working on those ie buy another membership, donate $10, start a thread talking about what you liked about Charle Spargo etc
  22. Yes, for sure but you have to realise you can’t always be right, you can’t always win, not everybody will like you, you will make mistakes. But when you are positive you will see opportunities others can’t - just do the best you can and again do more of what you do well. Our players are very committed and are learning and improving every game. Now all we need to do is support them and give them the resources they need to rise and repeat more consistently.
  23. As an optimist you will live longer, earn more money and builder longer and happier relationships. Football is only a game your life won’t change if we win or lose - don’t worry about all issues out of your control. Football is not life or death. Are you still breathing- then it’s a good day. Focus on today, focus on your strengths and do more of them every day. But have balance recognise you will win some - you will lose some. Ignore social media , ignore negative people - they will try to bring you down because of their problems in life. Go Demons
  24. Obviously you are struggling with what your own club and players are telling you. This is a very severe issue for the players & AFL but why does that not surprise me in this echo chamber So in all honesty we have hypocrites and people with very guilty consciences in this community, on Twitter, on Facebook etc However, you are entitled to your opinion - maybe we just agree to disagree .
