  1. Disco up forward reminds me a bit of Brodie Mihochek; presents strongly, an intelligent footballer, good skills and looks a reliable set shot. I re-watched the hilights earlier and his performance was very exciting.

He could be the missing piece we have been looking for

Fair dinkum, not invested, that's why he got crunched going back into a pack.

Everyone else, repeat after me 1,2,3, We trust the match committee- Turner was a great selection.

I also think Petty hasn’t quite looked like he has full confidence in his body since he has come back. The not invested narrative is emotional rubbish

I really hope we can keep him fit, happy and playing for the rest of the year. With him and Pickett we look dangerous and unpredictable.

    Fritsch Petty Pickett

    McAdam Petty ANB

    Chandler

Thats a solid front half if they can get some games in

Drop one of the Pettys and add JVR

Still laughing at this. Their whole club gets this by default.

He is right though. I find Chris Scott more and more insightful and generally agree with him on most footy matters.

What the hell does Cameron’s character have to do with a sling tackle

Hmmm, maybe a late change is on the cards……

We don't normally play games with late changes, so unless someone (Lever or Oliver) needs more time to prove their fitness then I would think that we will go in as named.

  6. Happy for Marty Hore. Not many players get a second chance, especially not at the same club and especially not when they were a mature age player the first time. I hope he does well and can cement a spot in the team

  7. A few thoughts on last night and some mitigating factors:

    - Oliver looked extremely tired at the end of the game and pretty rusty throughout. He will be better for the hit out. I wonder if he would have been played if Gus was available…I doubt it but they probably thought they needed him for his big body and experience.

    - Whilst Spargo has copped a lot of criticism last night he has runs on the board in my opinion and should be picked next week. He didn’t get enough of the ball but was burnt on several occasions when he was in space. One was by our captain when he had a paddock in front of him. Max decided to not give the handball which he should have…sometimes Max holds up the play after a mark too much in my opinion.

    - I don’t see it with Laurie. He is not quick, not an extractor, not an accumulator and doesn’t seem overly skilled. Has a lot to prove to stay in or get back in the team. Billing’s should have been played ahead of him and I hope he is next week. Maybe Laurie out and Tholstrup in is a good move?

    - Petracca didn’t have a great game but I felt like he was struggling with balance between the forward line and the midfield. I wonder if throwing Clarry forward in the last quarter and Trac into the middle might have been worth a try.

    - Max didn’t have his best night but wasn’t smashed as some have suggested.

I think we will be better for next week, especially with Pickett back in the team.

Played like fummbly school girls. Sydney much cleaner. Again our forward line was a problem. If schache plays seniors for us again I think I will sit in a corner and cry for 6 hours.

    Why school girls? Rubbish analogy

  9. Back to Caleb Windsor, I know that it’s only hilights of an intra club hit out but, he looks very exciting. He appears to be exactly what we have been lacking for a long time. An outside, quick, pure skilled link player who can also hit the scoreboard.

I am as excited as I have been about a draftee for a long time!

In future if Maynard gets off:

    - every player can launch themselves late into the air to smother

    - not be anywhere near the ball

    - not have time to turn their body

    - hit the player in the head

    - and take out opposition player

    - no punishment

    - as it’s a footy act!

    A joke, total BS!!

At first I thought that he would get off but thinking more about it over the last few days I believe he will get 3-4 weeks. Your points above are correct. it cannot be allowed to be approved as a football act. The ramifications of that would be disastrous

The problem is in finals, nearly is not good enough. Did you win or did you lose, that's what the legacies are judged by.

Geelong nearly beat Brisbane in the 2004 prelim but fluffed a lot of shots, they led at half time in the 2019 prelim but same thing, does anyone remember these facts or give a toss? No.

During the season is a great time to take learnings and pat ourselves on the back for honourable losses but it doesn't cut it in finals. If we kicked straighter we would have won correct, why didn't we kick straighter is my question. Was it weather, technique or did we simply choke at the critical moment after being accurate for most of the season.

Close is just not good enough in these games. Perspective is great to have but reality bites.

Agreed. All I’m saying is those on here essentially saying we suck and won’t win against Carlton should calm down. We nearly beat Collingwood which was a 50/50 game in my opinion

  12. Langdon had a bad game but the narrative that he is a concern is I overblown emotional hysterics. He has been a star for us since he came to the club…I’m positive he will bounce back.

Reading this thread and others at the moment, you could be mistaken for thinking that we got completely outplayed and thrashed by the bottom side. We nearly beat the team that finished top. If we kicked a bit straighter we would have.
Some people need to get some perspective

We need to poach an experienced forward.
    TMac has run his race..

Yeah, it was horrible to watch Moore burn TMac for speed and mobility time and time again last night.
If we can find one, I agree, let’s go get one

We need a player who can take Pack Marks.
that’s what we missed last night

I think we have one in JVR. Our mids just need to learn how to deliver the ball to his advantage
