  1. lol well i would've traded watts 5 years ago so him in a port jumper is probably more to my point i might make a screen shot of us in 9th position and make that your avatar but im yet to decide:)
  2. i'm not even gonna bite on the hogan thing. i hate his work ethic and he backed out of a lot of physical contests tonight when he needed to go hard. Jones - missed captains goal T.McDonald - accurate goal kicking Melksham - costly banana miss Fritsch - love his versatility Lewis - handy early goals Garlett - stop bloody fumbling Kennedy-Harris - liked him back Neal-Bullen - orgasm after goal Hogan - almost embarassing presence Harmes - effort effort effort Petracca - gradually getting better Tyson - didn't get pinged Brayshaw - australia's fav dreamteamer Frost - costly threw footy Gawn - basically just hitouts Jetta - smartly rushed behind O.McDonald - anti-clutch set shot Oliver - some crafty gathers Salem - costly kicking decisions Smith - just a game Spargo - several missed tackles Vince - smart sideways kick
  3. ive been doing my brownlow votes for every melb gane this year but im not sure how to vote this game. milera was good as waa crouch. oliver, brayshaw and gawn was good with 66 hitouts.
  4. hey guys, what do u think of the 3 brownlow votes this match. i thought maybe: 3- oliver 2- brayshaw 1. matt crouch what are yours?
  5. i feel like i haven't enjoyed this win yet as i was so stressed in that last quarter that i'm just relieved. We'd be the only team to lose from 5 goals up in torrential rain! but we got there in the end. gee, that frost holding the ball could've cost us the game. you could see us trying to lock the ball in but we had too many numbers around the footy. sometimes its better to let the opposition get the ball and tackle them instead of all diving on it and then having to get the ball out.
  6. Frost: very costly throw
  7. well petty's debut didnt instill me with a lot of confidence, and oscar mcdonald is still someone who needs 15 men to support him so we should be moving heaven and earth to get a key defender.

agree with this post 100%. I'm almost at the point where i'd prefer them to learn some harsh lessons again. even in the off season i was one of the rare people that didnt buy into the 'we're breathing fire after missing out on finals by 0.5%' notion. i've adopted the 'i'll believe it when i see it' notion.

good luck mate. maybe you will at least score tonight

hogan needs to lift. for a big guy he falls to ground far too easily and stages for frees. tmac is twice the player and can kick much straighter. dees could win but i doubt it. crows by 42
  11. hell no to armitage. injury prone, slow and poor skills. no to gaff as well. I'd be all up for bringing in aaron hall. His best is very good and was leading the brownlow last year (or the year before) after the first 4 or 5 rounds from memory.

haha deal. i'll cyber shake to that binman i obviously hope i'm wrong but i'm quite confident. just like i was with watts saying that pick 31 would be better and watts will be dropped mid season. could a person be any more correct on a given issue? lol

Go for your life. I don't think we'll play finals. I think a lot of supporters outside die-hard dees fans expect the same.
  14. i recognise that they are different players and different positions. but i never said i wanted an outside accumulator that is soft and unaccountable defensively. I'd much prefer a key defender for obvious reasons. if anything we need speed through the midfield. the pies exposed us for leg speed when we played them. guys like stephenson, degoey, hoskin elliott just embarassed us on the spread so the last person i'd want is gaff. pretty sure he couldn't run 20m in 3s. he's quite slow.

i'm sorry but no, players definitely don't always give 100%. players are human and their work ethic drops off. some games when melbourne don't come to play, thats a mental attitude thing. which is hard to train. you can't tell me the players that played against the pies played at the same defensive intent as the games against geelong or port Adelaide. thats also why finals football is different to home and away football. teams step up, theres more at stake and players are dialled in mentally.

Really? pretty sure the hawks won a granny in 08 being young. Also, we're not that young according to the average ages of the starting 22. pretty sure we're middle of the road. Making the finals is a weak goal...we haven't won a flag since 64..and that should be our goal. We really should have been on top of the ladder if had of won the 2 geelong games, the stkilda game and the port game that the umpires stole from us. That's where we should be if players were a bit smarter with their footy IQ.

Did a win help us? Last time I checked I don't think we're closer to the finals according to the ladder predictor...I budgeted for a win against the dogs. Still have us finishing 12th! We haven't beaten a top 8 team all season and now people think we're going to beat adelaide in adelaide, west coast, sydney and gws to make finals. that would be some turn around!

You're a goose. I actually analyse the fixture. I look at the teams we have to come, and I think we will win 2 more games. And why would I expect 100% effort when we haven't given 100% in our games this year aka. the saints game and the pies game. Do yourself a favour and do the ladder predictor and tell me where you have us finishing.

yeah, probably. i mean most of his kicks are pretty easy spot up kicks with not much risk attached. he probably cant kick too much further than 50m. I'd just much prefer to grab a key defender and alleviate the oscar mcdonald effect than to get an outside midfielder. if anyrhing i'd go for aaron hall and would almost prefer him at his money

i like joel smith and i thought he played well against the cats. he is quick, agile, aggressive, versatile and plays to his strengths. i rate him and i'm surprised others dont either.

It's a failed season because i dont think we will make the 8. i also think top 4 should have been a target but thats just me. secondly, its already been reported that lever wont play until mid next season at the earliest.
  22. Dr.D replied to McQueen's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
i would. i dont rate gaff as high as others. he is poor defensively and one paced. he is just an accumulator to me with above average foot skills.
  23. Dr.D replied to Demon17's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
like everyone else is saying, i'm over it. it's a failed year. and salt into the wound is having no decent draft picks either due to lever who is out until late into next season.
  24. not sure how many times it needs to be said but gaffs defensive game is a weakness, not a strength. i'd much prefer steven may. the peace of having oscar mcdonald either at casey or on the 2nd best tall would add years to my life
  25. Dr.D replied to What's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
not making the finals guys. ever since we lost to port and stkilda i didnt think we were a chance. and im usually right with these things
