Are you really skeptical? Or do you just phrase things from a negative perspective as a rule of thumb?

can you seriously imagine someone, having run 4/5 other brain teasers suddenly presenting one and saying there is a connection when there isn’t, just to have a laff?

this is the first brain teaser I've seen

    just out of pure curiosity......

......but how many wins did you forecast at the beginning of the year?

I expected to be breaking into the top 4...in 2019....

That's why I didn't nominate the teams we would beat Dr. But I believe we will win 4 games minimum to finish inTop2.

That's fine. I agree that 4 games will do that.  I, for one, see 3 wins 3 losses which puts us potentially 5th if we don't get our % up.

    50/50?

We could afford to lose 2 games and still finish 4th. We beat the Hawks & Suns (danger game in Darwin) we’ll be finishing top 2!!

Yes, we can lose 2 but not 3. If we lose to Geelong, dogs and WCE in Perth (which is a big possibility) then we will finish on 64 points. I have Port winning 5 of the last 6 and beating Coll, GWS, stk, Carlton and Adelaide which means we tie on points.

Yes, they could lose to stkilda but no more than we could lose to Hawks or GC.

Despite your bravado and LNP type claims of the truth Dr you are not always right!!!

I would be surprised if we win all of our last 6 games but believe that 4 Wins should get us Top2 which is what we want.

I am supremely confident that In Finals at the G we will beat Power Cats and Lions but fear Dogs and Swans.

we may be lucky not to have to play Swans any way or at the SCG as my time due to Covid (Struggled with ground dimensions etc vs Pies IMO on QB) and Dogs are dangerous because of their game plan and all out attack which needs a healthy score yo best on occasions. Our pressure vs them is ( as against all teams) not negotiable.

Plenty of chances for upsets with the Saints Freo snd Bombers all capable of beating Dogs Lions Cats and Power but not Swans on their last 2 rounds form.

Of course 4 wins gets us top 2.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We haven't beaten Hawks or GC yet.

  6. Well I've got us dropping 3 games which according to my calculations puts us in 4th-5th spot and being tied with port on points so would need to beat them on % to get in.  Time to get ruthless in the next 2 weeks. None of this 2-4 goal win crap. Blow them out of the  water!

i honestly don't think Trac makes it this season, i think it is he OR oliver not both and i think oliver has had the superior year. with midfielders if you're the best in your side you attract so much of the footy and stand out more easily.

i think its hard to go past Bont, Oliver, Lyons, Walsh (W), Wines, Touk, Macrae (W), Parish without throwing him to a cheeky flank, but imo probably hasn't starred as much as some people seem to think. he'd be more in the guthrie, mccluggage, steele, discussion which is more your 40 squad but miss the cut.

Gawn, Lever, May, Oliver for mine

Well I think Oliver is a better play all round but petracca is the perfect guy to put on a half forward flank. Just like what they do with Danger and Dusty.

  8. agree. literally all the experts who speak to player managers and watch junior footy all say that he'll go top 20. More than happy to not hear the Mac Andrew name every again.

  9. Picture this, Port surging back into the game, the home crowd roar becomes louder, the Dees player playing a bit more nervy, the umpires buying into the home crowd rants and raves, the game on the line in the 3rd quarter. Mcdonald goals! The pressure is alleviated and the bleeding stopped. A few minutes later, Mcdonald kicks another goal! Pressure starts going back on Port, Mcdonald's confidence through the roof.  Next minute, Mcdonald sent to the bench.

This is the most stupid coaching call of the night. I love how coaches try and be on the cutting edge of sport science with their rotations. How about sorting out our goal kicking inefficiency before getting fancy and keeping our good players on when they start lighting it up.

Random lowlight from the Channel 7 coverage of the Port game last night THAT DID MY HEAD IN #1:

Fritter thinks he has touched a ball, because he did, that Alir is paid a mark for. So assuming it is play on Fritter tackles Alir. Much to fritters dismay, the umpire gives a 50. Which was fair enough as a mark was called.

The commentators say as much. Play on. Nothing to see here.

Later, Kossie takes a nice mark. It may have been touched. Jonas  certainly thought so and tackled Kossie. Much to Jonas' dismay, the umpire gives a 50. Which was fair enough as a mark was called.

The commentators express amazement and surprise.

Watching THE REPLAY, which provided crystal clear evidence the 50 was there every day of the week, 'Hamish" opines Jonas was hard done by. WTF

    DOES MY HEAD IN!!!!

Completely agree. I noticed that too. One passage of play where Port goaled they say 'Port just took the game on, they were probably a bit lucky with not getting called holding the ball but they need to continue to take the game on'. How about changing the narrative and saying 'Melbourne stiff by a terrible call there. The umpires need to look out for that but Port took advantage of a bad call and kicked a goal'.

I can't stand how they never address bad umpiring.

  11. The 4th spot on the ladder will be between Melbourne and Port according to my calculations. And that will be decided by %.

To be fair, I don't think its lack of endeavour as to why we never have big wins. It's just due to poor kicking for goal. every week. Another 14 behinds with about 3 shots that missed everything is a consistent story for us and we're going to kick ourselves out of a final unless we pay it the respect it deserves.

  12. I'm also very happy to eat humble pie. I knew from the first 5 mins that we 'came to play'. I thought the goal on half time was going to bury us and change the momentum and it largely did in the 3rd quarter as they got back to within 7 point but we steadied and kicked 2 and that was pleasing.

Still very poor goal kicking because we kicked about 4 goals from the goal square but we get a week to focus on it, AGAIN.

Now please, good lord, please bring this pressure against the bottom 8 teams.
