Brayshaw was very ordinary. He didnt hit hardly any targets and manages to get his kicks smothered very often. Id like to see this particular stat. It would be out of him and Tyson to see who gets smothered more. But I dont mind Dom's kicks being smothered, it creates a 50/50.

good call frankie. tyson takes that long to put boot to ball it reminds me of a dial up internet connection.

also, is goodwin even watching the same games. why does he let vince take the kick ins?  he tries to thread the needle unnecessarily . go short to a 100% option or long to a 50/50. Not 25metres to a 50/50!!

  2. im so sick of personally being condemned for my opinions of mcdonald. i've never liked him as a player. Sure he can take a mark and has good endurance but the moment he has the ball and his eyes dart 1 degree in board you may as well pencil in a goal. Oscar is the same

  3. Hogan doesnt help our defensive pressure mindset so honestly i'm not fussed if he isnt playing. our best footy has been without him.

To be honest, the tom mcdonald i saw today is the same mcdonald I've seen since day 1. terrible skills and low footy iq.  oscar is a clone.

max needs a kick up the arse.

petracca played well though. All these demonlanders were saying he needed a break after a poor game...crazy mofos!

Pedo's form has gone down and Watts' up.

Hogan injured and quiet while Garlett playing well

Can't we have all 4 playing well for once?

garlett not playing well. missed 2 simple goals which have cost us dearly. at least he is finding the ball

  5. any chance of hitting a bloody target.

Gawn is getting beaten by most ruckmen these days. Time for him to get out of the media and get a bloody kick!

No defensive pressure and kicking has been terrible. especially Brayshaw. lift!!

our season is on the line and we come out flat. how does that happen!

  6. hannans efforts last week when it counted has earned him the right to play the rest of the seaso. drop him? wtf

no chance watts is coming in. its taken goodwin all season to realise pedo is far better and he plays a mans game in a mans body.  hogan (who I've been critical of) kicked straight today and whilst his defensive pressure is diabolical, i'll forgive him becauae he kicked straight.

    no chance viney will play.

p.s posters keep referring to dom tysons disposal %. thats not the issue. the issue is he gets caught holding the ball far too often usually from being slow in the mind to make quick deciosns by hand

    out: wagner

    in: salem

  7. All these posters praising Pedo now were the same ones doubting him when he put in a bad game or two and he got dropped. If Pedo himself ever read this board... just letting you know that I backed you all last year yet we opted for Watts whose game isnt 'big enough' to ever poll 3 votes in a game. Pedo may have done it twice in a row!

Why Pedo was ever dropped  and not in the team at the start of the season is simply a bad decision. A decision which cost us a couple of wins.

  8. But not in the top half a dozen players. He hasnt earnt a call up. Guys like ANB had to get like 3 best on grounds before getting a call up. Watts has completely lost my trust. His game against north melbourne in particular was horrific. id say most section 1 amateur footballers couldve impacted a game more than he did that day.

  9. I continue to be surprised on this forum. Watts hasnt been named in the best players for 2 weeks yet he is 'a cut above the rest' and should get a call up?

Watts' efforts in the afl for 3 weeks were unforgivable and disgusting. An absolute [censored].

He has not shown any appetite for the contest and we dont need guys like him in the team come finals. We need hard guys that put their head over the footy.

  10. I may be the only person who thinks this but our best footy has been without Hogan this year. When Hogan doesnt play, Pederson more often than not steps up and we are more unpredictable.

And 1 thing that I find most melb fans look past is his attitude to chase. Its been pathetic all year.  And I dont care about anything else other than effort and he doesnt provide that. Hogans kicking also needs work. Fortunately Pedo has stepped up and shown supporters his attributes and he needs to stay in the team all year.

  11. I scratch my head when people on this forum defend guys like Watts until the cows come home year after year despite bringing no intensity or strength to the contest yet guys like Melksham and Harmes are always never given their due credit.  Both of these guys bring intensity and thats all that I want in players. not to mention melksham who has kicked some clutch goals for us in recent times.

I won't even start talking about Hogan and intensity but why did people ask for Pederson to be dropped? He was BOG yday. 26 touches and 2 clutch goals. You dont drop these guys after some quiet weeks.

  12. sure, weideman didnt have a great game but honestly his intensity and effort levels were far better than Watts has been dishing up and for that Watts will stay in the vfl for a while longer and rightly so.

  13. goodwin: research wind gameplan

    Jones - found the footy

    Viney - unaccountable in 2nd

    Salem - ice that leg

    Watts - delist or trade

    Petracca - absolutely no impact

    Lewis - persisted and prolific

    Gawn - his seasons best

    Tyson - slow in mind

    Oliver - kick the thing

    Hibberd - fumbly and frantic

    Frost - needs more footy

    Melksham - atleast snagged 2

    Pedersen - waste of selection

    Vince - prolific but meh

    T.McDonald - helped with marks

    O.McDonald - lacks footy iq

    Hunt - barely saw him

Neal- Bullen - atleast he kicked

    Garlett - went walk about

    Jetta - continued to soldier

    Harmes - 20 meh touches

    Maynard - probably list clogger.

  14. 1. I called for him to be traded 3 seasons ago.

    2. the only reason watts has lasted is because of all of the new coaches we've had over the years thought they could put some aggressiveness in him.

    3. So many people on this board have defended Watts for years because they defend all melbourne players but Watts plays such a soft brand of football that it probably has an effect on those around him.

    4. Also, IF we play finals football, the intensity of finals footy would make watts even more insignificant than he already is.

People think im harsh on Watts, which I am, but i'm not as harsh on Melksham and Harmes which cop a lot on this board. both these guys crack in every week!

  15. we need to give Jason taylor the plaudits he deserves. we talk about Goodwin a lot but much needs to be said about Jason Taylor and his recruitment of players. since he started he has brought in:

petracca, brayshaw, oliver, weideman with high picks

hunt with a pick in the50's.

vandenberg and Harmes as successful rookie picks.

vince, bugg, Hibberd, Lewis as trade targets.

Kennedy Harris, stretch, neal-bullen, Oscar McDonald and Salem (considering the talent behind him) are all speculation at this point and haven't proven yet to be anything more than fringe players.

    all competitors in that batch.
