  1. No, we need need brothers. Brothers are heart felt stories that keep us warm in the dark dark winter months. September can [censored] right off
  2. I think I see where you are going - but jeez, thats harsh is my first thought...but if you're a stats loving man - there is a little bit of evidence to suggest similarities. Player Statistics Comparison Ben Kennedy Name Brandon Matera Melbourne Demons Team Gold Coast Suns Forward Position Forward 40 Career Games 101 Glenelg Origin South Fremantle March 3, 1994 Date of Birth March 11, 1992 23yr 5mth Age 25yr 5mth 175cm Height 173cm 78kg Weight 77kg 2012 National Draft Last Drafted In Round 1, Pick #19 Last Draft Position Collingwood Magpies Last Drafted By Career Stats for Season Career 40 Games 101 7.0 Kicks Per Game 10.5 6.8 Handballs Per Game 4.3 13.8 Disposals Per Game 14.8 2.2 Marks Per Game 3.9 0.7 Goals Per Game 1.2 0.4 Behinds Per Game 0.9 2.1 Tackles Per Game 2.4 0 Hitouts Per Game 0 2.3 Inside 50s Per Game 2.6 0.5 Goal Assists Per Game 0.7 0.5 Frees For Per Game 0.8 0.4 Frees Against Per Game 0.6 5.6 Contested Possessions Per Game 4.4 8.4 Uncontested Possessions Per Game 10.3 9.0 Effective Disposals Per Game 10.1 65.2% Disposal Efficiency % Per Game 68.2% 2.0 Clangers Per Game 1.8 0.1 Contested Marks Per Game 0.1 0.4 Marks Inside 50 Per Game 0.9 1.4 Clearances Per Game 0.9 0.6 Rebound 50s Per Game 0.8 0.5 One Percenters Per Game 0.7 0.4 Bounces Per Game 0.8 63.0 Time On Ground % Per Game 81.5
  3. So this just popped up on the AFL feed http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-16/foundation-suns-forward-brandon-matera-set-to-seek-new-club I'd love him at melbourne - high half forward rotating through the midfield - outside class. We don't have much of that. He's different from Hannan, Garlett and Petracca. Troll away
  4. Named after that famous Melbourne and Fremantle player Jason eh? Morrish my friend.
  5. Has he had a breakout game yet? And what does that look like?
  6. personally I would have thought those skills were prevalent in junior footy in all seriousness.
  7. Remember the beginning of the year though @chook fowler. Ethihad was THE fortress.
  8. I do remember Neita causing Dunstall to wear one...that was nice memory for a 12 yo ... probably not PC to feel like that now.
  9. Should be a fun contested possession match - our lads vs Beams, Rockliff, Zorko and Rich. Do we have enough on the spread?
  10. https://twitter.com/gawndog37/status/896651169400889344
  11. @Ethan Tremblay...new name... The "Guswhisperer".
  12. You could drive a truck through these lines - he's gone pal - Lever is in Reminds me of when Frawley went forward for 5 months....
  13. Gosh I get annoyed at people making statements about people confidence levels. Basically you're projecting your own concerns. Anyone on Demonland know where his confidence is at outta 10? Nope, only the man himself knows. As an aside, competence is always a better indicator of performance capacity as confidence comes after the actions of competence. He's competent at a VFL level - thus he is competent at the AFL level - the only thing that changes is context , not his ability. You don't need confidence to perform, it's just a feeling... (you may want it however) and when you do have it , it does make things easier, but you certainly don't need it. Gus may or may not be confident...thats not the right question - the right question is , is he willing.
  14. sigh... I feel you're simply inferring things that aren't there... I'm sure I can't convince you to re read what I wrote on see it any differently. Nonetheless..I'm super glad you're passionate about supporting the team and super passionate about getting people to do the same that you feel aren't as supportive as you.
  15. @Rodney (Balls) Grinter - mmmm the topic thread title is hardly pessimistic, nor optimistic - merely a question to get the masses thoughts.Personally, I concur with the fact we have made giant strides this year and would be surprised if we don't prosper over the next 5 years or so.
  16. Bloody hell, thats harsh - that'd be Port mate - wrong club. If you're buying into the fact that we should be finals bound, you've been consuming too much press.
  17. Ok....and if that's true, how does that affect any change on the football department? I pay my membership, (thus I care greatly) but I do realise that the players aren't thinking about Danelska when they win and lose
  18. @willmoy That's a profoundly more positive way to ask it, than I did. Kudos.
  19. It's a fair comment - really is a game of inches eh.. or time.
  20. Just on a side note I'm going to derail my on thread - [censored] I hate the term unacceptable - and particularly coaches who use it post a massive loss. It's as hollow as David Warner having a media conference to state that he is going to take responsibility for clocking Root - does merely saying taking responsibility actually mean taking responsibility. Irrespective of performing good or not good - teams are always striving for more...by stating that something is unacceptable behaviourally is window dressing for the spectators to reduce a bit of anger and sadness
