As much as I would love Keilty to debut against the Swans, even though he's in great form I don't think they'll do it because it's too much of a risk. Hunt won't come in, has been out of form all year and is only 1 week back from injury, and didn't do a lot for Casey yesterday. If the club feels they need another defender, I think Pedo will come in. He's been in great form and was the best Melbourne player on the ground for Casey, had 31 disposals as a KPD (I know it was Carlton but still impressive) Melksham will definitely be back in so like others have said they might just do a straight swap for Smith and swing some others into the defence, although that might leave us a bit short. Will be interesting to see what they do.

Casey Demons v Northern Blues - Round 18
Drunkn167 replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Look it’s hard for me not to be biased but I really think he can. I’ve seen him play on experienced AFL listed guys (to be fair not superstars or anything) and dominate them. He was all over Casboult today, he f’d up Buzza last week, he’s beat McKernan, T.Boyd and other good KPFs in the past. If he had played v the Saints over Petty we would’ve won I reckon I just hope he gets his chance and we can see for sure if he has what it takes at that level.- 155 replies

Trust me about this, you can have a maximum of 3 years on the Rookie list. To stay on after that you need to be promoted to the Primary List or Delisted. IE Mitch White last year played his 3rd ans final year on the list, if Melbourne were gonna keep him they wouldve had to promote him to the senior list via the drafted -

Keilty was great. In the last minute he was out of position on casboult but still managed to not only get the spoil in but effevt the mark then run in front to get away from him I truly think he desrves a third year on the rookie list- 155 replies

Keilty being moved strategically He’s staying down the scoring end all game, so being a forward with the wind and defending against the wind very clever- 155 replies

Beautiful day down here at Casey Fields, bit of wind though. Kent is the carryover. -
How good is it having AVB back!? Dude is a gun and has gone through a helluva lot the past couple of years, from some nasty injuries to the devastating loss of his Father (I can't tell you the whole story of what exactly happened but it's pretty messed up) To see him come back and play some great VFL footy, I am overjoyed to see him back in the seniors. He's gonna tear it up!

Gotta feel for the bloke. Football is a tough life that a lot of people don't seem to appreciate just how hard it can be. From all reports he is a ripper of a bloke and well liked, and he definitely had shown glimpses of some great talent, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out. Hoping he has good luck going into the future and it all works out for him.

Huge game this one. Not for the season or anything but coming into the back end of the year there’s a few boys that’ll need to play some great footy if they don’t want to find themselves traded or delisted at the end of the season. Hopefully Keilty did what he did against the Blues this time last year and has 10+ intercept marks.- 155 replies

Rest: Hogan In: Weid or Bull, both been good at VFL level, don’t think Pedo as he’s been playing as a defender the last 4 weeks Id want Keilty to play too but it ain’t gonna happen

I’m starting to get pretty worried that if Keilty doesn’t get a guernsey this season, given the club has to delist a certain amount of people and given this year is supposed to be a ‘super draft’ that he might find himself without a job next year. He’s been playing good VFL footy and I’d love more then nothing then for him to get at least get 1 senior game to show what he has at that level, but’s it’s looking more and more unlikely

I am very much in the thought that if Dec had played vs the Saints, we would've won. He was great on the weekend, kept Buzza goal-less and to only 6 disposals. But Pedo is also in some good form so I think he'd play over Keilty. As for your second question, I'm not allowed to comment on that, sorry.
