Agree but then again I'm a start in April guy and 17 rounds.

I've certainly not witnessed a great fan demand for more games.

Still waiting for the AFL to explain how the season will work when we have 19 teams. Sure you have a rolling bye for 18 weeks but then you need multiple byes in the last 3/4 weeks to even up game numbers. The ladder will become impossible.

I'm not adverse to a pre-season under 23 comp or similar using some VFL players to make up numbers

this is how it is in mid gippy. everyone gets a bye and then 4 of the last 5 rounds have 3 teams with a bye at the same time. then some poor team gets the bye in the last round before finals. a few years ago newborough had that bye and finished top - which gave them a week off in finals so they played, had a week off, another week off, big final which they won that put them in the GF, a week off and then the GF. so they played 2 games in just under 6 weeks...... and predictably got rolled in the GF by a team that had played the last 4 weeks without a break.

19 teams means theyd have to get rid of the pre-finals bye and move it to before the GF, surely

It's bound to happen one day.

There's no karma in footy. The only way it'd be equal karma is if m*****d was one on one in the backline and we were 3 points down with 10 seconds left and he did his knee and we kicked the winning goal by running past him helpless on the ground. In the grand final. Then I'd believe karma exists in footy again.

Great to hear the crowd booing Maynard - you [censored]

The afl reddit match thread is full of neutrals slagging maynard off. Easily most hated in the comp, not just by us

Despite Ollie's lack of preparation he was a solid contributor.  Who else would you have played?

Should we really put the sprinklers on at Gosh and Casey for training?  Serious question.

Honestly I think we should do it every so often. It's an outside sport, you gotta win when the ball is a cake of soap and apart from a select few we couldn't handle the sweaty wet ball tonight.

What a surprise, Tim Watson doesn't like us. We don't like you either Tim, so it's mutual.

i mean this is a guy who defended his footy club when they couldnt tell him what theyd injected into his son, instead of doing what id have done - sue the pants off them...(unless they knew exactly what they were given of course and were just lying about it)

  6. a bloke i played footy with was accidentally knocked out cold in the last game of the season a few years back. i caught up with him a few weeks later. "you been to the doctor?" "na"
if it wasnt the last game of the season he'd have been wanting to play the next week, i guarantee it. the club wouldn't have let him but not all clubs are like that.

I like where you are comming from, but there are better means - it doesn't need to come to fisty cuffs and brain damage (I think it's too late for that in Maynard's case anyways).

Maynard has bung shoulders, so I just want to let Jack Viney go at him unrestrained for 30 seconds and let him rip his arms off like the that Black Knight in Monty Python and end his career that way.

I mean there's not much to admire about roy Keane but I say get him in for KB and tell him maynard is related to the older haaland. I'm not serious of course because we are better people and I expect us to channel our anger into the scoreboard.

And also another player that qualifies the father son/daughter rule.  Though this period of stability and building games into players, I feel we are also somewhat setting up some good future recruiting opportunities.  With something like 4 out of 40 players at the club currently father sons, that makes 10% of our current list.

when are we going to start a breeding program and shack the boys up with the womens team to create a generation of superfootballers, born with footballs in hand?
    im joking btw
