  1. It's also not unreasonable to give things time. We're too quick to judge and say something is wrong when it hasn't even had time to play out. It's fine to question the decision, but there were plenty calling it the wrong one, blaming Viney's slow start to the year on it and so forth. I know we live in a time where everything has to happen quickly, but many things don't, and this is one of them.
  2. There were plenty who were crying foul over the decision to promote Viney to a dual captaincy role with Jones earlier in the year. Unbelievably, they've gone quiet. It was always going to take time and now we are reaping the benefits.
  3. This has danger game written all over it. We should win, and do it comfortably, but the Roos are our bogey side. We will need to play well to win.
  4. Is that a sensible trade scenario I see? It's like the Aurora Borealis.
  5. Happy for the media to ignore us. The last time they fawned over us we put in a stinker against the Swans. They can leave us alone as far as I'm concerned.
  6. I don't know why clubs would tank for the first pick these days. It's strike rate is no better than the second pick, or the third pick and so on.* *I have no evidence to back this up, total assumption.
  7. He dropped it and then dived on it when Jarman Impey tried to nab it. Great post mark, glad you and your family enjoyed it.
  8. Tigers all over them in this term. Giants go to water a little easy and don't know what to do.
  9. It's a shame, too, as I usually don't mind his stuff. But he let his bias get in the way big time, which is evident in him having 4 Bombers in his 'AA' team.
  10. Agreed, but it hurts cheering on the Pies. It really does.
  11. Is it just me or is a thread started on this every week? I'm thinking finals, not list needs, at this point in time.
  12. As someone pointed out in the Post Match Discussion thread, that's actually not a bad crowd all things considered. The Pies got 35k to their game against Port when they were still in the finals hunt and they have bucket loads more members than us.
  13. This is also off the back of his article on Saturday about how the Bombers 'can beat anyone'. Turn it up, Velvet.
  14. Agreed, Cards. I'll be the first to say that I wasn't sure he could make it. It seemed like many were hanging on to his 3 goal game against Geelong in 2015 as a beacon of hope, but I wasn't convinced. I am now. His worth to the team was summed up in the first term, when he did the team thing by hitting up Petracca instead of taking the low percentage option of a shot on goal. He then hit Garlett lace out with a beauty, something he does quite regularly these days. He's quickly turned himself into an important cog in our side and his development this season has been a joy to watch.
  15. Irony would be the right word to describe this post, as you pull out one Oscar moment out of plenty to have a dip at him and then you do this: Nice one, Steve.
  16. Not sure who I'm barracking for tonight - Swans or the Saints. I don't think it matters too much though as I think the Swans might give them a touch up.
  17. I just love how he posts. He almost loves the enter button more than he loves Jordan Lewis.
  18. What I think also gets overlooked is how tough the kid is. He can stick a tackle as good as anyone else and he never shirks a contest. A fantastic weapon to have in our side.
  19. Just because I like doing it most weeks: Clayton Oliver - 30 touches, 10 tackles, 20 contested possessions and 5 clearances. And this is on a day where you could argue he wasn't at his best. Gun.
  20. That contest summed both players up - Jetta is as tough as they come, while Dixon would struggle to knock the fluff off a cappuccino.
  21. If Jones is ready, then it will be Jones for JKH. If he isn't then I'd go with an unchanged lineup. Been a while since we've been able to do that, and it will give us some continuity going into a danger game. Then we get Jones and Vince back the following week.
  22. One of the recruits of the year. Has been able to come in, play a role and play it very well. Always good for a few goals and he's both strong in the air and clever at ground level. When he builds up his tank with another pre-season then he could easily spend more time in the middle. To me he's playing the role AVB would normally play for us, and you could argue he's playing it better.
