  1. You? No chance. You're too level headed to catch that disease!
  2. I think it's something we don't give enough credit for. It's not easy playing up there at night and the ball is really hard to control. Obviously it would have been nice if we had jagged a few more, but as you say, a 9 goal win up there is nothing to sneeze at.
  3. Another ripping game from Fritter tonight. 25 touches, 14 of them contested and he got them all over the ground. Can spend some time at half back, run through the wings and we know how good he is up forward. Was a one touch player all night in the conditions and you feel confident every time he has the pill that he can hit a target. Brilliant selection by Jason Taylor and his team.
  4. It was ugly, it was tough to watch and the skills in the conditions were not flash. But in the end we rock and rolled them by 9 goals and, had we said we would win by that margin earlier today, everyone would have taken it. There were some real positives tonight. Petracca returned to form in a big way which was great to see. Did some really classy things but he also worked his backside off around the ball on the defensive end. Had 5 tackles to go with 28 possessions (just needed to kick his goals!) and that's excellent. Now he needs to keep it up. Clarry and Gawn are stars, Salem and Harmes continues to improve and Gus is having a terrific year. Bayley Fritsch looked a cut above in the conditions with his clean hands and silky skills. I thought the changes we made worked really well. Stretch did some good things and used the ball well. Jeffy, while not having a huge impact, gave us some pressure and zip at the fall of the ball and seeing him lay 6 tackles was really good. He will only get better from that. Frosty was excellent down back, albeit against average opponents, while I thought Spargo worked himself into the game. It's good to see Goodwin make the right changes and it showed tonight. Obviously, we still need to work on how we use the ball going forward. We look terrific when we lower our eyes and have space for the forwards to lead into. We still bomb it far too much, although we were still able to have 37 shots on goal. Turn that into, say, 23.13 and we have smashed them off the peninsula. Our defence was better tonight as well as we stifled their run. I was a little worried their outside runners could make us pay, but we were far more organised and it showed. Let's take the win and see it as a way to get our season back on track. It was also good to add more to our percentage which is still the second best in the competition. Yes, this was easy opposition but after last week we need to ensure we get these wins, and we did that tonight. It's nice to be back on the winners list, even if it was a little ugly at times.
  5. For his first game back for a while, I'll take 13 touches, 6 tackles and a goal. He can build on that in the coming weeks and I've liked his pressure in the forward half of the ground.
  6. Looked superb, but it's hard to do when there are generally 8 other players standing in front of him most of the time. If you give him the space he'll lead up and mark it 9 times out of 10.
  7. Garlett may have been a bit quiet, but he has laid 6 tackles this evening. You can't fault that effort, even if we all wish he had hit the scoreboard a little more.
  8. I feel for ANB a bit. Clearly he is getting everything out of his abilities, but too often he misses an easy shot, or takes a wrong option and it really lets him down. If he can clean that up, and I think he can do it, then he could be a really handy player in our side. As it stands he lets himself down too often, but you are right to argue that he is certainly not weak.
  9. Spargo just made a contest then and was penalised. What in the world was it for? This isn't netball.
  10. Very good. His disposal has stood out really well tonight. Taken some good options and hit the target. Will get a few more games on the back of tonight.
  11. Another solid game from James Harmes tonight. Playing with some good consistency at the moment and doing some positive things.
  12. Great kick inside 50 from Billy Stretch there. More of that would be great. ANB misses a sitter. Anyone surprised? I'm not.
  13. You've been very MFCSS tonight, Andy. Almost uncharacteristically so. We need you up and about big fella!
  14. Extremely soft. Walters went down like he was hit by Andre the Giant.
  15. Our best passage of footy for the evening. Great to watch.
  16. Celebrating your 50th birthday? Yes I know that's cheap but I couldn't help myself!
  17. Admit it - how many of you looked away as Clarry had that shot? At least he kicked it! Now to add a few more.
  18. How clean is Bayley Fritsch? An absolute ripper is this kid.
  19. As a Man United fan, I love watching this gif:
  20. We're a 10 goal better side. At least. Kicking is the only thing letting us down. Outside of that last goal there our backline has worked superbly to stop their run forward. They look up from half back and have nowhere to go. Now to finish them off in the third term.
  21. I can't believe he kicked that.
  22. Ha ha, Maxy with the massive shank. Knew he wouldn't kick that with the slippery ball.
  23. Great kick from Spargo there, but the effort from Petracca (again!) was fantastic. Good signs from him tonight. Great finish from Tom as well!
  24. Did it really hit the post? Was it definitive? Dermie is right.
