It's disappointing he isn't playing, but I think it's the right move. Both he and Hibberd can return for the Eagles game fit and ready to go. Of course we would prefer to have him, but at this stage we gain nothing by rushing him back too soon.

I wasn't having a go at Cards. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a go at him. Thanks for trying, though.
-
Wrong? Hardly. My point was that you were laughing at the idea of Oscar playing on Buddy, which is ridiculous. There is no reason why, at some stage, Oscar won't play on him. I even said I think Sam Frost is a better match up in my previous post.

Goodwin on Gawn: He’s just having a light week. He’ll train fully on Saturday and he will play on Sunday. We’re really confident about that. — Melbourne FC (@melbournefc) August 9, 2018 Oh dear...

The burden of proof isn't on me, it's on you. You've been wrong a few times now, it's not a good look.
-
Great. We aren't even mentioned in being interested in him, which you said we were.

Isn't Demons 11 the bloke who claimed Gus was looking elsewhere and that we are right into Hannebery? If it is then I'd be reticent to believe him, although I guess with this one he is a 50/50 in being right.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 21

Herald Sun going with the sensationalist headline that Gawn is in doubt for this game as he isn't taking part in the training session, even though he is there. Of course I'll wait to hear more before assuming anything, but I'd wager they are giving him the morning off to keep him fresh going in to this weekends game. They also mentioned that Hibberd and Melksham trained away from the group but looked good, so hopefully that means at least Melksham returns this weekend. -
Our number one key defender on their number one forward is funny? Righto. While I think Frost is the better matchup, I'd be more than happy to see Oscar get first crack on Sunday afternoon.

Terrible news, even though we all knew it was on the cards. Never makes it any easier to read and hear about. RIP Jarrod.

Praha is being a little positive here. Gives me a good feeling about our next three games!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 21

Keep Franklin relatively quiet and we win. To me it is that simple. We easily match them all over the ground, but Franklin is the X-factor. Let him get off the leash and we have a serious game on our hands. Keep him out of the action most of the time and I fail to see how they can kick a winning score against the best offense in the league. Dees by 5 goals. -
Bottom line is this: Shocking act, deserved 8 weeks. Doesn't make him a bad bloke and the suspension and fall out is punishment enough. Would still be superb to have him at Melbourne. You would assume Gus would, in time, also move on from what has happened and welcome him to the side with open arms, as will we.
-
If we got him for close to the minimum wage then I wouldn't be against it. The fact he has struggled to impose himself in a side bereft of tall talent doesn't exactly fill me with confidence though.
-
8 weeks. Fair suspension IMO.

After missing out on half the competition, they must have 3 mill a year left over to offer him.
-
Which people? I'd love to see which thread on here has people saying he's been treated harshly. I don't have Farmbook either so I don't get to see what the 9 year old trolls are posting on every article that gets put up. As far as I can tell, no one here has said he is being treated harshly. No one.
-
Who said that? I'd love to see the context, rather than just a quote.
-
I doubt they would be. They probably don't even know he got 4 votes. But hey, you guys can wave your fists and stomp your feet all you like. Go ahead. Gaff will get his just desserts from the tribunal and that's enough as far as I'm concerned.
-
No one will be happier than Roosy to see us play finals and achieve the ultimate success in the coming years. I love the fact that he still loves the club and you can hear it everytime he talks about us.
-
They'll be concerned with supporting their son and getting him back to full fitness. Do you really think they'll be up in arms over the coaches votes? Please.
-
It's meaningless. It only matters to those who want to make a mountain out of a molehill.
-
I was just checking. Again, I reckon it means nothing. If Simpson gave him votes, then he gave him votes for the game he played, not the act of punching a bloke in the face. Does anyone really think he condones his actions? Of course not. I don't think it's relevant at all. Gaff will get his punishment, which is deserved, and then he goes about repairing his reputation in the days/weeks/months to come. 4 votes or not.
-
Can someone enlighten me as to why we care about coaches votes in this instance? Seems totally meaningless to me.

If the tribunal is consistent, then the penalty has to be more than what Bugg received. Mills didn't play out the game, but did play the following week. Buggy got 6 weeks for that. Brayshaw is done for the season. Gaff should get something in the realm of 7-8 weeks for it, but I'd be surprised if the tribunal went that hard. Not because I don't think he deserves it, but more so because I just can't see them having the guts to do it.
