it will be challenging but the right thing to do. Go Dees

two 50m penalties in a row for the cats the week before was also the folding point for us as well.
-
There was another where he leapt into the air at a stoppage grabbed it above his head and handballed it down a team mates throat before his feet even hit the ground. He's a freak
-
and 4 commentators Rusty. I think the mrp should be citing him. It would be good to see the club do a medical report. Doesn't seem to be our style though.
-
just watched the replay. our defence seems to really panic when we started to fall apart. That grub Berry that pushed Jetta in the back straight into that pack should be cited. We were really lucky not to lose Jetta for a heap of time with a bad injury. Really dangerous play

Jordan Lewis 50 metre penalty - can anyone lip read?
Brownie replied to Miracle's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ok, I don't know why I'm getting sucked into reliving this but I rewound the betamax and watched it a couple more times (16:30 to go in the 2nd Qtr). I'm in Violent agreement with everyone on this post. 1, Lewy should have shut his mouth. He even pi$$ed the ump off on the goal line because he wouldn't step back on it. Leaders just suck it up. 2. It was a soft free and a softer 50. I reckon he just said "he tripped over his own feet" which triggered the 50. That 50 was followed by another soft 50m within 2 minutes of game time when they penalised us for infringing within the protected zone when Geelong had the ball on their half forward flank. We were 10 points up and looking good before the umps started squaring things up and then we went to pieces......... We are still lacking the mental discipline to suck it up and lock things down when things go against us. BTW, I watched the end again and the Geelong players were sticking it to Gawny at the end. He was ropable. think he's going to have a cracking season and can't wait for the re-match when we spank them with Dangerfield included. -
betamax gives you better definition to lip read
-
yeah. I rewound it twice and all Lewis said to the ump clearly was "he tripped over his own feet" no profanity or abuse. No idea what he may have said before that but the 50 was given after Lewis said those exact words to the ump.
-
yep he shouldnt have said a thing but the bloke tripped over his own feet. the ump gave to 50m when Lewis just said "he tripped over his own feet" its s*$t but leaders should just shut their mouths.
-
did you see Jones at three quarter time when ablett went to high five his mate. Hilarious
-
geez Jones Oliver and Gawn have kept us in this. What a difference when the second tier players have a crack. Come on Dees. One solid consistent quarter to go
-
hey Hannan and Harmes are playing
-
our running players would be hunt wagner and lever...... oh

I hope we win a flag before the competition becomes even more of a farce. I used to love watching games between two good sides even when melbourne wasnt playing. I really dont bother much any more.
-
I worry that by the time we win a flag it will be in a competition that makes us cringe. I used to love watching big games even when we weren't playing. Just to watch a tough "put the whistle away" armwrestle between two even teams. They don't happen much anymore. Yep. country / lower league footy matches now have more atmosphere and toughness about them. I wish bad umpiring was held to account like bad players form. They never get dropped
-
umps are just scary. 2x frees to essendon in their forward line to even it up
-
bone broth and hash cakes it is. he'll come back 15kgs heavier with dreads.
-
Has Crossy got him on the bone broth?
-
Its getting us ready for Gils game. Music and fireworks after every goal a rectangular field no tackling free kick against for last touched time outs 15 minute quarters etc etc. its only about two years away

AFLW: Rnd 7 V W Bulldogs @ Whitten Oval
Brownie replied to FarNorthernD's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
The thing that has been carried over from mens to womens so well is the art of ducking into tackles. The rolling of shoulders to pull the contact high. Dropping to your knees when you know your going to get caught. I watched a bulldogs player fall on her arse and get paid a high contact free. Making an effort to dispose of the ball properly goes out the window if you can just drop to you knees. Worst result for the player is a ball up. It's a blight on our game. We get to watch the master next Sunday. Yep the umpiring was bad and we also blew it again. -

it was more than one. there were a number that swayed 10 to 15m with the breeze. if players have to compensate for the breeze. why couldnt the umps? -
