POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Watched some of the replay. I know, why would you. I noticed May had a severe case of the fumbles. And I don't get why are handballing was so prolific and often intercepted. It looked at if players were afraid to back themselves. Finally our tackling was as soft as it gets. Looked like bruise free footy. The body language spoke volumes too.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Do other posters feel like the wheels have completely fallen off? I mean to be beaten is one thing but by almost 100 points is just humiliation. It's right off the back of being thumped by a lowly eagles team a fortnight ago. So it's not an aberration. I'm not sure what such a thumping does to a team's confidence but I guess we will find out against the pies. The lack of fight back in the second half was not the way we have played in the last four years. We gave up at halftime and it was Mfc of old unfortunately. Maybe we will scrape into the final eight but it looks like dark years ahead. Again. We will probably be like the Western dogs for a while and hover around eight to tenth spot or a couple of years and then who knows. It's hard to be positive after a belting like that in this day and age Id suggest a change of coach at the end of the year. Not because Goody has failed. He hasn't, he got us a flag. But it's time for some new blood in the role and time to build our list up again. Max is getting on in years and we need to find another ruckman. Asap. JV is looking slow and tired. Sparrow is not really a midfielder. Bbb is past it. We can't have players moved on from other clubs like Schache, Hunter, Billings, Fullerton and McAdam taking up spots. It's time to prune at the end of this busted season and start a fresh.

Harrison Petty
He has shown some great form in the past as a defender. If the decision was up to me at Mfc , I would have kept him but I guess there is always a risk with interstate players wanting to go home. Can't really blame us for holding on to him. Helped us secure a flag in 21 . But yea his value has certainly diminished this year for sure. A shame.

Harrison Petty
If I were the person at Adelaide in charge of recruitment , I'd seriously be reconsidering if we want him at all. Based on his form this year and one decent game from 11, I'd be thinking he's not worth giving up much. I hate to say this because I think Petty is a great bloke but his form on the field this year has been abysmal. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in that he's simply not good at being a forward but yesterday he had times in the backline where he made some horrible choices. I don't know what's happened to the guy. He has the skill and a good record in previous years, but this season has been night and day to previous ones. Needs to go back to Casey and get some confidence for sure.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Can we begin by stopping selling a home game to play on a ground that is a four hour flight away dominated by supporters from another club. We may not have won at the Mcg but I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have lost by almost 100 points. It's disrespectful to the fans who can't afford to fly interstate and pay for hotel bills. Times are tough Its shortsighted. Yes the money is good but isn't winning more important? Can we also trade Petty asap before we can't get anything for him. Can we say no to players who left other clubs like, Hunter, Schache, McAdam, Fullerton and Billings?

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
It's worth a shot I reckon. We need a bit of mongrel in our fwd line. Although I worry about Petty even playing in the backline now. Yesterday he was defending and chose to try and handball over the head of a Docker's player only to have it intercepted and result in a goal to Freo. Petty is so out of form he shouldn't be playing at all. As for Tracca we simply can't afford to play him fwd. And as much as i like Kozzie he is much better playing fwd. The real issue is our lack of depth. We don't have the cattle to drop players and allow them to regain form elsewhere. Or put mental pressure on all players each week through fear of being dropped. Our "seconds" list consists of a few young players still developing or players rejected or let go by other clubs. We have resorted to using players like McAdam who embarrassingly can't kick a footy more than thirty metres. In 21 the best 22 was hard to break into and players new full well if you got dropped it was difficult to break back in. Today it is much different. A player like Petty can play one good game and ten shockers and still get selected. Why did we let it come to this? Why do we not have enough depth to mount a strong fwd line instead of having to consider Bbb who looked well and truly past it in our 22 finals campaign? Or why can't we drop Oliver or Sparrow? Why did we recruit players like Fullerton, Schache, Billings.,and co? Did the club get complacent after our 21 flag? I feel we need to go back and start rebuilding the entire list. It's a shame that this generational team is only going to be remembered for one flag. Last year's loss to Cwood was a combination of a horrendous hit of injury to our fwds and also a dog act by one filth player. We should of and could of won it last year. Alas in less than 12 months we are smashed by an average team by almost 100 points. We will be well and truly beaten in the KB game. 100 point losses scar you for a while. The trio of Tracca , Oliver and Viney seems very slow and out of form today. I don't know what went wrong but we lack vigour, passion and commitment. Freo shook a lot of our tackles off and we didn't chase half as much as we should off. I fear the KB game is going to see us smashed again . I would like to see Petty actually dropped just as a statement to all that you can't play the way he has been and gifted games every week. But with Lever injured, I'm not sure we can do this. In fact there are probably six to eight players I'd like dropped. They certainly deserve to be. I think the club got caught up in the 21 success and took their eye off the ball. Like the bulldogs a cup after a long drought makes one satisfied and distracted from all the things necessary to have got there in the first place. The club and the players seem to have lost a lot of their appetite for another flag.

My 3 word player analysis V Fremantle
Sparrow never really delivers. He tries hard but doesn't have the skills for a mid Probably suited to a Cameo up fwd Petty has fallen apart. You forgot Oliver.... Hasn't been great.

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
We will make the eight. We will be seventh. This is a club very much in decline as evidenced by the players we have recruited and kept in Schache, Hunter, McAdam, Fullerton, Bbb....to name a few. Where players like Petty gets gifted game after game because there is simply no replacement. We need to rebuild our list and that takes time. Today is not an aberration. It happened two weeks ago against the eagles. And before that to Carlton and the lions. We can be competitive but the difference between our best and worst is vast. Our once touted midfield is alas no longer functioning like it used to and we have one good fwd in Fritta. Today is ample proof of our deterioration.

Like what? This team is done and dusted. Mentally lazy. It reeks of .." but we have won a flag." Us supporters deserve better than this. Shame on these players. Shame on the coaches. I feel sorry for those fans that spent their hard earned going to NT for this game. And why exactly are we playing in Nt to start with? Like we haven't travelled enough this year.

In any good club, players are very mindful of the pressure to perform. Simply if they don't perform they have to play in the twos. Since we stopped recruiting and let some good players leave we don't have enough players in the twos for such pressure to exist. So we get sloppy efforts from players who know they will get a game regardless. We need a rebuild I'm afraid. And the reality of that means a few great players of today won't see another flag.
