Fritsch Sealer Multiple Commentary
leave it to deever replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't even bother about anything else. Give him the car, house , boat .... Dons franks or whatever it is. Competition over. G.o.t.y. Done and dusted. I fell off the coach watching that. I'm sure neighbors thought someone was being killed. -
Love it. Lever makes so much noise directing players I don't know how he manages to focus on his own game. And yea full credit to Maysie from being the strongman at GCS to the consummate teammate he is today.

In all seriousness Brownie, for me it was one of the best games for a while. Because after our last two games it was fair to wonder where we really were as a flag chance. We certainly are a very good chance for one as a result of that win. The Cats are a scary good side with both great backlines and forward lines. Their run and carry and speed of transition is damn good. But our defenders ...the three horseman so to speak were wonderful. A proverbial wall of bronze and iron. To keep Cameron and Hawkins to zip was indeed a biblical effort. They say backlines don't win flags but I'm not sure that holds anymore. Ours must be the envy of all and it's missing two big names in Bowey and Salem. Also to see Petty go from strength to strength as the game progressed was a sight for sore eyes. In the final stages it looked like he couldn't drop a mark even if he wanted to. He was that connection at chf and the middle that we have so desperately needed. So glad Goody didn't heed the screams here to send him back to Casey . But in the end it just revealed another moment of this club to never say die. Cats went to another level in the last quarter but we went above that. At times the game wasn't pretty with its shots at goal but that was just a reflection of the pressure. One of the biggest take aways for me wasn't just our number of tackles but rather how many of them stuck. It seemed that most of our players just couldn't be shaken off. And the moments of just speed and skill like Frittas dribbler, Caleb's two steps and he's on you and Kozzies snap at goal were a reminder of the quality of some of our players. And in the final quarter we saw Oliver as who he really is. Simply the best midfielder in the competition for me. See ball get ball then hit a target. 31 disposals despite being hard done by the umpires. Finally I'd like to give a shout out to two veterans. Max who just goes to another level against the Cats and Tom McDonald who has defied all odds and looks like the great defender he was six years ago. That was probably the best h and a win since the Kardinia park comeback or when we pinched a win against the lions at the MCG. Okay maybe not a big comeback win but in the context of the season and past few games and who we played was most thrilling. Next week is another big test. But I'm sure we will go in choc full of confidence and deservingly so. Win that and we may not be top of the ladder but we would certainly be looking like the strongest contender about.

Agreed. Had a final feel about it for me. Twists and turns. Sub plots. Themes . Mystique. Courage. Battles. What more could you want? Maybe Scott falling out of the coaches box.
-
Hopefully not Woey out. I'm not sure Goody will make any changes after a win like that.
-
No he's not. Why was he subbed off? Ironically he was good in the third before being subbed. Watch his disposals in the first half.
-
These a shot of the crowd after Fritta's goal of a guy with his hands on his head in utter disbelief. I think we all felt the same.
-
As mentioned a few times he was short changed more than a few times with tough htb. But he didn't argue or show poor body language or shake his head once.
-
Just texted my brother in law a mad cats supporter the annual picture of Max.
-
You forgot Billings. Only kidding.
-
I think Max closes his eyes as well. Always looks positively nervous 25 m out. Looks at the goals for a second then the ground for too long . Much better at bombing when there's no self imposed pressure.
-
I'm treating myself with the replay. Gee Oliver was hard done by a lot from umps. And I noticed that Geelong player with the head band was everywhere. Often marking his own kicks.
-
We play so much better as underdogs. As marvellous as that win was, I hope we keep the lid on. Will be hard but we are firm favorites when we are not. I think we got ahead of ourselves perhaps after the Adelaide success. Not sure if this is fact or just seems to be. In any case let's stay mom for a while on the media if we can and do our talking again with the ball come Thursday. Go Dees.
-
I take your point. It's a true statement. I would like to mention how Oliver was a different player in the last quarter and set up a lot of our attack. Without him going and collecting the pill and bringing his tally to a whopping 31 possies we would not have attacked so much. Yes the midfield was symbiotic to our backline but it changed to a more aggressive mode towards the end and hey presto the goals started flowing. It's a fine balance and maybe orchestrated that way.
-
That would be about 4 to 5 m. Hmmm.
-
Is Fritta one of the Afls premier forwards? Both Cameron and Hawkins kept scoreless. Fritta's not far from Coleman leader in Curnow. I think he's very underrated. Is he?
-
How far for d Max kick that goal from. I reckon he was about 3 m from the centre square edge. Ball went though about 4 m high mark.

CASEY: Rd 06 vs Williamstown
leave it to deever replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is it just me or is this ridiculous that any player picked from today has only four days rest? -
Hey Scott You were well and truly beaten by a much better team. Have some humility. Oh yes you were out coached as well.
-
The commentary on Fritta last night.....he's not going to get to it.... Oh wait. What?
-
I thought our midfield did well with the centre clearances but in the first half we're not that imposing. In the second Tracca shook off his tagger, Viney tackled like a machine and Clarry was a first class ball magnet.
-
Full confidence is back When Jvr starts holding all his ( he was ok) we will be even harder to shut down.
-
They really slowed down the cats lightening transition at times. They were scary fast at times with their handballs and run and carry but when electing to kick we often had them covered.
-
I'd say he smashed his way back into supreme form last night.
-
Bravo.
