WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Hitouts v Cats. Blicavs 14, Jackson 12, Stanley 10. Clearances: Blicavs 1 Jackson 4 Stanley 3 Disposals: Blicavs 9 Jackson 10 Stanley 10 I was looking forward to him v Blicavs who is similar type of tall, athletic player who plays ruck and a key position. I thought physically he held his own against him in the stoppage ruck contests and didn't look physically overwhelmed at all. This is a huge step up for a 19 yr old tall. Watched the replay today and I think he did hold his own. I think what I observed on the weekend was that Max dominated compared to Lj in the ruck but yea he was alright. Notwithstanding Max is bigger and been doing it for many years.?

What’s our best 22 ?
Good choice. Maybe for me only swapping Weid and Melk after the cats game. Not like for like but weid is pretty athletic for his size. Great to see Gus playing so well again. Poor Jetta. Nothing would please me more and Im sure you to see him come back like Tmac. Has been one of the clubs best players.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I think this is a fair analysis. He is only 19 and hasnt devrloped fully physically either. Hasnt been great in the ruck but hes nimble at ground level in terms of crumbing, chasing and tackling. As a side note so is Max Gawn....his crumbing has been excellent. Plays like a small for a 208cm man. LJ is doing his job by bringing the ball to ground and stopping intercept marks and run. When he starts holding all his marks...watch out.

My Round 5 Preview and Prediction
Lets me honest. We are Dees supporters. They are ALL danger games. From the top team to the lowest us Dees fans are in constant angst. And while I should have been panicking while geelong were surging in the 3rd though I was a tad worried....for some strange reason I really thought we would win out. What are these strange emotions? I get the feeling the players certainly believed they would. Yes Im worried about his game but not because I think we will take it lightly or the hawks are remotely better. Im now worried because I dont want this ecstasy of winning to stop.

10 Reasons Why This is The Best Forward Squad
I complained about Hunt constantly being played in defence and boy was I wrong about that. Daw would be good but Im hoping there is simply no room for him. Anb has been fantastic. Works very hard.

My 3 word player analysis vs Geelong
Spot on Joeboy. Great team effort.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Looking at the May hawkins incident in slo mo....maybe it was an accident. Can i just ask: How do we know it was? The bloke through his elbow without looking towards Mays face and gee it made contact. How could it not that close in? Just saying maybe it was but one could say maybe it wasnt. Why did he throw his elbow back in the first place? Any player can throw an elbow behind him when being held by his opponent and say I didnt mean to make contact. Was it just reflex? If so its still dangerous. Is this a precedent for future errant elbows. The Afl talks about concussion but maybe even accidents like this need to penalised. At least a suspended sentence. This way players might just have to keep their massive elbows to themselves and stop either accidents...deliberate....or "deliberate accidents " from causing serious injuries.

10 Reasons Why This is The Best Forward Squad
What looked shot a couple of years ago after the exodus of Hogan and a long slump with Tmac is now looking like the exact opposite. Firstly Fritta is asserting his superior athleticism and skills for a so called 3rd tall and is dominating at present. Last week we revealed our super weapon in Kozzie who is an incredible goalsneak. 3rd and 4th, We have new and constant improvement in Anb and Spargo applying great pressure both physical and on the scoreboard. 5, Tmac is almost back to his best. 6 and 7 Jackson is going to get even better and gives us the chance to use Max up fwd. 8 Goodys new found flexibility in moving tagged mids up there. 9 and 10.....Weid and Brown have not yet played. Its a defender's nightmare starting to unfold.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Was actually excited to see him selected but agreed he didnt do much. Really hoping he would embrace his 2nd chance and rip into it, like Tmac has done. First game in a long time but Tmac started on fire. I still remember his silky skills and conditions were not great but then I look at how Fritta played. If he plays again like that then I cant see him staying at he club. Sounds harsh but when I see how all the other players are doing everything to win....TWELVE tackles by Viney, then its hard not to feel that way. Especially given his performance last year. Maybe he will turn it around. I really hope so but I dont think Im alone in saying these things.

Thats a big compliment to Jake, Joeboy. Sean Wight was a hero. One of my favorite all time players. Probably the strongest and bravest. Was well respected by all including opposition. But JL is starting to show the same clothe.

Very strong for his size. Tackles with all his might. Not lazy in applying them. Corners opposition all the time. Melksham take note please. Did a Selwyn on Selwyn. Loved it.
