  1. Good old Mfcss. I'm pretty sure there's not too many gfs were lost with a five six goal lead in the last. But I know where your coming from. The 3aw commentator was the same and would call it either.
  2. I'm sure it will go down in club history and probably AFL legend as the best minute of footy ever.
  3. Yep it obliterates the number of goals past the number of minutes win rule.
  4. Yeah if I'm honest, I probably felt the same. But still blown away from that spree.
  5. Back at it again. Another season soon upon us. I seriously can't wait until it starts. I have never looked forward to a footy season as much as 2022. I have a new found sense of confidence and expectation with this mob. I really believe we will go back to back. We have the talent. We have the motivation...a granny at our home. We have the supporters to encourage them. Bring it on. Ed running down the members wing. Hunt down the middle. Trac busting packs. Fritta flying high. Lever spoiling parties. Gawn roving like a small man. The hot pie gravy trickling down my gullet and let's be honest all over my shirt. The crowd yelling ball. Spending eight bucks for a light beer and enjoying it. Talking about the umpires other half. Oh how I miss it.
  6. I'm sure hes going to win a Brownlow in the next few years. Three years ago I think his disposal of the ball was sloppy at times with those Hollywood handball over the head. He is so much more effective and clever with his ball use and so much more confident. There was a scene in the granny that Daisy pointed out where he was tackled by two dogs players simultaneously and still managed to take a decent kick. He and Trac are worth the price of admission alone.
  7. A shame he didn't get to play in a granny. Such a big part of our previous success.
  8. The last three goals of the quarter still amaze me and I must have watched them over fifty times. Dees of old would so often concede a goal in the last minute of many quarters. From the dogs perspective with the ball moving into our fwd line, dogs fans must have been thinking we need to hold on and not give up a goal. But nobody thought of giving up three and especially the way it happened. Truly spectacular in any game but more so in a granny. I wonder how many people went to get a beer or take a toilet break. I reckon if I was at the ground, I would have snuck off to get a beer before others. I'm pretty sure those goals just crushed the dogs spirits as four goals is not insurmountable. But we scored at will in the last. I was dancing everywhere after those goals and I was sure the flag was ours. Was everyone else convinced?
  9. Yep I think Jaguar would be well pleased with our new flag and extra exposure. It may well fuel the image of well heeled and prosperous supporters but is that really so bad. Is it a crime to have nice cars, be skilled in outdoor winter sports and have a more sophisticated cheese palette? No mergers or relocotions ever for this financially responsible club.
  10. Yeah I think yours is closer. When younger it must have been more evident but its definitely there.( the port Melbourne piers)
  11. Used to always be the case. Like clockwork we were sent there and got pantsed. But now I think it doesn't matter so much even if it would be fair for cwood to go there just once. We smash geelong anywhere.
  12. It's more revealing with the median age. The thread on players peaking seemed to suggest 25 to 26 was about it. We have a lot of players at the age of 25 especially in the middle. Oliver( 24), Trac, Gus. Ed. Plus Fritra, Lever and Salem. We have some key feds and defenders ( our big men) in late 20s which are nicely balanced out by some exciting youngers. The stats can be misleading like Geelong where they have players around thirty and players towards twenty with not as many mid twenty players like us.
  13. They look like iron ones. Ouch. Weekend with burnies.
  14. An older version with a cookie crumble perhaps.
  15. Maybe a view based on his efforts last year where he struggled with about a goal per game. Quite a few goaless and no big bags. I think about 20 for the season. Talk about improvement and I dont believe we have seen his best yet. He must be hard for teams to find an opponent for. Does number 31 proud. He really stepped up after Tmac started to struggle and won a few games close to by himself.
  16. Marks Stupid autocorrect A guy texts his neighbor... A guy sends a text to his next-door neighbor: "Bob, I'm sorry. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess: I have been helping myself to your wife when you're not around, probably more than you. I know it's no excuse but I don't get it at home. I can't live with the guilt any longer. I hope you'll accept my sincerest apology. It won't happen again." Feeling outrage and betrayed, Bob grabs his gun, goes into the bedroom, and without a word, shoots his wife. Moments later the guy gets a second text: "Really should use spell check! That should be "wifi. Technology ha....it will be the end of us.
  17. A gun forward who Mark's above his height and stronger than his size would indicate. Some incredible game winning performances including a stunning effort in the granny that was the catylist of our comeback.
  18. TX Dubdee. I was checking out Ablett Snr stats and he bloomed in his 30s as well. It's clearly different for strong bodies full forwards. They add more bulk and learn more tricks. A look at most Brownlow recipients suggests mid 20s. My interest in the topic is wondering how we will fare in the next few seasons. All signs point to success.
  19. I really hope we win back to back and another one or two this decade. That it brings in a flood of new members and supporters. That we return to being the team of the 50 s and 60 s. Highly relevant, respected and feared. A club where players want to go to. A club that leads the cup count again.
  20. Nup. You dont win a Norm Smith and Brownlow with only one trick in your kit.
  21. I'm a good deal older than you Nasher but I remember thinking how Fletcher was still playing for the Don's past your age. I have no idea how he did it. Its probably easier for a fullback who probably doesnt run as much as other positions but he was still a freak of nature.
  22. The consensus seems to be mid 20s. I was thinking about this because I was thinking how many key players had a great year. Fritta 24 Oliver24 Trac 25 Lever 25 Langdon 25 Gus 25 So I think next year we should go even better. We seem to have the perfect mix of players ages.
