  1. Agreed. If you have to travel just as far as it would be to watch a Swannies game would you not choose the latter?
  2. Well the home and away season has come and gone, very quickly, I might add. Just want to give those who keep this site up and running for very little return a big genuine thank you for all their work. I've had a few health issues this year and often this site has been more than a place of info, venting and knowledge. More often than not it has been a great source of amusement and laughter with not a few some posters having great senses of humor( is that grammatically correct Demonstone?) There have been many times this site has been a huge valve release during a game, keeping me to drinking healthy levels of alcohol intake and less comfort eating. On a more serious note or a lesser one, many posters have given me much free amusement ( aside from my paltry donation to the site) and even more made me laugh out loud even if I didn't feel like it. It also seems we have been less cranky with one another this season with less sniping and more positivity. Maybe a flag after 57 years will do that. So thank you again to those keeping the site going and to those who have shared their unique humor, wit and time over the six months. May we blessed with at least another one of the same fun up until the siren sounds our 14th flag. I wish I had cut and pasted a highlights reel for some of the top posts and we could have handed out some awards, for there have been some posts up there with ... Jesaulenko You Beauty 😃 maybe next year. Cheers fellow Dlandees. Litd.
  3. I'm sure I won't know after that so I'm out.
  4. Howard Hughe's Fig Pig But on a serious note, Isn't that the captain of an afl club somewhat north of ours?
  5. Playsclike he's 10 years younger. Fast for his age and a bag full of experience and footy smarts. Totally flies under the radar.
  6. Edit...and scomos
  7. Manuka sounds like the old Moorabbin ground. I just don't think Sydney can accommodate 2 cubs. It may change but it will most likely take a very long time. If you don't follow nrl you would most likely pick Swans.
  8. Well said. So often after winning a flag, players and clubs get arrogant ( auto spell suggested arrested which is true for some), and complacent. They often lose focus and motivation. But not us. We may not have finished top but we never stopped trying. We had a really frustrating run of defenders injuries from round one compared to last year but we fought on. Although hunted by clubs and the press we held firm. We have a double chance to win back to back flags and I think we will. For the ammount of talent we are still a humble team with a laser like focus on what this game is all about. From great leadership in Max to all our supporters we may be humble but we are proud as well. Not in an arrogant way but in a manner that says we are the best because we do our best. We play the ball and not the man. We play hard but fair. Our supporters are not constant booers and the club doesn't whine about poor umpiring or tough draws.( I may) If you were an immigrant, a young kid or moved interstate and were looking for a code and club, you couldn't go past the mighty MFC. I hope it stays like this and in 10 to 20 years time we have a whole new generation of supporters where we pull 45 to 55k to a game on a regular basis. The club has done a great job sowing the seeds for future success, support and existence.
  9. It still holds true but with an exemption for teams playing us.. they need to be 3 goals up for each min left.
  10. I remember when we recruited Bbb and I thought it was going to be tough to pick a fwd line from the plethora of options. Hhmmm. Now we need a another big and tall forward given Tmac' s injuries and inconsistent form which may be injury related.
  11. Well last year we had an incredible comeback against the cats on their Turf to cement top spot and secure double chance. We didn't finish on top this year but it's similar the way we absolutely demolished the lions on their turf ro secure a double chance. Just like last year 2 wins and we are in the granny. The way we played against the lions, I would not want to have to play us. We have done better than last year imho or at least as well, because of the injuries and protocols one after another to our backline. Salem, Lever, Hibberd, Petty and May have all had issues at various times and so our defence never really got to gel and be consistent. Well it seems to fine now. We are back to having zip injuries barring poor Tmac and peaking at the right time. Even Milkshake has put his hand up and said he's back and showed that the blues game wasn't just a lucky one. He played well against the lions too. Can't wait to beat swans on the Mcg.
  12. It's strange because even though the ladder doesn't show it....Blues are a darn good side who can play like us....win the clearances....dominate the contested balls and score quickly. It must really hurt the last 2 losses. Not too upset for them...I just wanted the filth thumped. Blues have some stars and will be back next year. I hope the Pies go out in straight sets. ...so I think Cats will win. Lions too really went from high to low with us thumping them. Not only did they lose a second chance.....Tigers match up on them well and lions will be mauled even on their home ground. Freo to beat dogs. Can all the South Melbourne supporters please finally accept their team sold them out and refrain from going to the game. .
  13. Yea....Papley, Jenny, Franklin and Warner make me nervous but I'm confident after our recent form. Besides swans just scraped home with a top 4 birth on the line so there's that.
  14. Yesterday with 3 mins to go nothing had changed.
  15. Making me so thirsty.
  16. True but it's just doesn't sit well with me. Freo did well to win.
  17. Rich could knock off the lions up in brisvegas.
  18. Tx Ds. I didn't know that. I think it's too small for a final's game but it depends who you play..gws maybe but I can't imagine cwood going there without protesting or having 90 % of the tiger army locked out.
  19. Plus it's too small to host a final. Is that what the redevelopment is partly about?
  20. In the back ump.
  21. More than happy to play this mob. But we will be lucky if they can hold on.
  22. You know it wasnt touched when the player carries on that much.
  23. So confused...now I'm supporting the Swans.
