  1. I suspect you'll feel a little better after a comfortable win tonight and the joy of ending Carlton 's campaign.
  2. Pretty sure your not alone in thinking this. Throw in Spargo whose been out of this team for a while and yea, it's a nervous wait. And Tom McDonald you have been given quite a few chances. But Im hoping Fritta will excel in these dry conditions and Kozzie and Chandler to put on the proverbial clinic. Let's move the ball into our fwd line with speed and precision. No way Viney will have another quiet one. He will dominate tonight. The big factor in this game is motivation. I imagine this close knit bunch are still fuming over poor Gus. Not just the dog act itself but over all the pundits who supported it. The same ones who are delighting in hoping we lose four finals in a row. Aint gunna happen. If Gus does the pregame talk, we will win this on pure adrenaline. This will not be a slow start. The blues caught us napping a few times last game we met, but things have changed. If I can quote that strange orange man, I think this will be a game of "fire and fury" from us. I'm still so pi33ed off, I just want us to play a gf now so we can have some old fashioned justice. And I know it's wrong to advocate violence but I just really don't care. The Afl certainly doesn't.
  3. Let's just all enjoy ending the final aspirations of this pretentious mob.
  4. Our ability to mark inside 50 really concerns me.
  5. I thought Laurie was incredibly lucky with only 5 average games to be named sub in a QF. In fact I thought it was a bad call. Turned out to be too. Pretty sure he hasn't justified a recall. If not Grundy then Hibbo.
  6. Rinse and repeat the other end though. Relying on May to curb Curnow. And Fritta and Kossie to put on a show. Where else will our goals come from. Maybe Tracca?
  7. Does tgis mean maybe Grundy has already checked out? I thought he'd get a look in. One tall down on form with one ruck concerns me a little. Then again it's somthing different. But Laurie not for me. Wasn't sighted last week
  8. On second thoughts probably Schache, in case our one tall doesn't repeat his previous good form. Oh wait.
  9. Seems that way but don't worry we have Sparrow and Anb up there. I'm not even confident when he is there, so there's that. Still can't believe Maynard gets off while Jvr gets a holiday.
  10. There's a big difference bw Salos best and being solid. He is an elite player and your right he came back in such good form he stood out. Lately, not so much.
  11. I really do believe we will win this. Not so confident about the Pf. But it feels like the whole world is against us. Not just the Maynard Incident. But we will coming out breathing fire and jump this mob. Their campaign is finished. They are in for a very rude awakening .
  12. I have always thought the crowds influence umpires but I thought we had a good run v the pies. But you make a good point.
  13. Eddie m a a complete [censored]. Won't put his head on the line and play himself
  14. Well said Shaun Smith. Maynard ran a long time before he jumped. He has form. It was his first act of the game. It's hard not to want a lot more of these smothers so the Afl do something .
  15. I know the club, coach and players have media comittments but sometimes I wish we would just go quiet before big games.
  16. I'm still so angry with Maynard and now the Afl. I reckon the team would be ropeable.
  17. As per usual Layzie you help make DL educational. You would be banned from a pies forum.
  18. As an aside, it's probably worth remembering we have performed well in some big games ie KB and Anzac this year. Both were reasonably large crowds. Having said that, our slow start against the Pies must be attributed to something. We clearly took a long time to get out of first gear. But once we did , we really dominated. I think we will come out hard and strong against the Blues and win quite well. The whole Maynard hit will be a big motivation. The Lions however are a tough gig. Up there tge crowd factor really comes into play and tge lions are in pretty good form. The sad thing is if we met them in a gf at the G , we would most likely win. Oh footy , you break so many hearts. This year with injuries has been an absolute shocker. Not just tge number but the timing. We hardly ever had true cohesion all year. As hard as you train, try and as much as a club does, there's a fair bit of luck involved. Not to mention thuggery. I truly believe in a game determined by about a goal if we haven't of lost Gus , we would have won. Let's just wait three more days and see what happens Hang in there.
  19. I would do almost anything to see us win the next 2 games. We can beat Carlton. Ok beating a red hot Brisbane lions will be super tough at the Gabba but strange things happen in finals. Imagine the Pies horror if we made it through and played them. It would be their worst nightmare. They know they were lucky to beat us. We were a side with a good player down. We missed easy shots at goal. How nervous would Maynard be? In the mean time, I will enjoy watching us beat Carlton.
  20. My true wish is that these Turkies get sued in later years for failing to stop acts like this with non decisions. Where is the deterrent? Talk about precedence. The sad thing is, most of expected this. Shows how flawed it all is. Thanks for the insights guys. Let's just dream of winning 8 more quarters and then..... Good night. Kiss your loved ones.
  21. Jvr should just rock up and play. Would be the ultimate statement about this. A big fu to the Afl that they truly deserve. I'm sorry I thought you threw out all the rules.
  22. Your right, it's pardons a plenty. I'm am piss3d off. Imagine how Gus's family and mates and he feels.
