  1. responsible play with a lot of pressure on the Opp' first, then offensive weapons to rebound with as the icing. we've had a tradition of just wanting the icing & cream.... Roos, depth is the key he thinks,,, 17th - 22nd players are the advantage after the guns cancel one another out. so great decision making & disposal are keys to not letting the team down. I think Jeremy Howe will benefit enormously from Roos.
  2. You can see it WYL, you do understand. ... so why can't you understand the negative influences of not having a home base outside the 'G'... a grounding place. I think you have to go O/S every year looking for yours?
  3. Isn't it easier to trade a player in contract, otherwise they can walk? 2 years, & we can both decide how things look after 12 - 15 months... If he's still lost out there, we can look for a suitable option for him & us.
  4. No I don't think its that certain... I think all our players have been progressively worried about the Club direction (belief), & how that effects their careers, & therefore it effects their desire, commitment & output.
  5. give him a 2 Yr contract & see what can be done. we give one another 2 seasons to see how things turn. if it doesn't work, we can workout a deal then.
  6. I think its belief in the club, & following that, its commitment. remember Josh hunt, was it last year, when he ducked his head a couple of weeks running? it think that was wavering commitment, causing a mental distraction, focus off ball & onto peripheral things.
  7. Yep 96 - 98 Kegs should do Jack W, imo.. keep his versatile abilities... now with these recent events since last night, I'm back in the keep JW grouping... as I think the new coach scenario will allow the whole group to have a change of attitude. & motivations. this could save JW's career.
  8. its not the attitudes that he has. its the attitudes that he adopts as he grows. if our forces of softness infect him, he's shot. he has to adopt the forces of hardness. we have to get all our players, skilled types or rugged types, to get the hard, rough, mentally tough & ruthless & hard working edge, & drop the pretense of nice...
  9. I think what we're reaping now has been on the brew since Tugga finished, but it wasn't on the surface for a part timer like me to see. I lost interest at that time of tugga going. & pretty much stopped watching tests. this is the result of poor off field leadership creating a vacuum from weak board leadership. they should be on the pulse & quickly fix things years back.. But these modern days 'Spin' has tried to control the public's perception with false media. pulls the wool only for a short time, til the reality becomes obvious to our eyes witness. we should have a cleanout of the ACB at the end of this test series, prior to the boys coming home.
  10. I think we've used it poorly as everyone has said, but this is also a reflection of a struggling playing environment under strain, making off pulse decisions.. a clear head comes from an environment where stress is reduced, & support aplenty. happy souls have healthy minds.
  11. its suggested that Ricciardo is leading the race for seat 2 @ Red Bullsh. don't do it Daniel... you don't want to be trained into being a backup, for others... hold onto your dreams. wait for the merry go round to settle, & try for a seat @ Mclaren or Mercedes...
  12. I've just read an article in the cricket pages... > http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/captain-michael-clarkes-power-games-are-ruining-australian-cricket-writes-paul-kent/story-fndpt0dy-1226703041598
  13. the more difficult the team game, the more important the team cohesive environment needs to be... ... even golfers have to have a great repore with caddy, & their coach, & freinds around, look what happened to the greatest golfer when his world tipped upside down... & he owned Golf, just prior.. you say this game is the hardest to adjust to, & I say all the more reason to have players come into a mature environment, (mature, meaning they all are considerate & supportive & understanding of one another) ..... then the coach can weave his secret spells, whilst the team focuses on the game before them. look at Clark last night, all of a sudden he's becoming more fatherly & supportive.. helping Starc was one I noticed early... Boof is really teaching this Mob, & Clark is all ears... you can see him up on the balcony, many times working with Clark, philosophising to him. & he's learning .... the results are there for all of us to see, the changes happening before our eyes. culture/environment: for those kids... & khawaja, coming into the septic team in the last few years would be impossible... now he has so much doubt after past failures he needs to come in via the back door this next time, or he's finished. he has to bat at 5, or even 6, to find form, before later elevation. the other kids coming in need to arrive to a happy environment were the theme is supportive, & disciplined to cricket & fun. Fun & laughter the complete antidote to stress & fear.
  14. At issue here is development... the environment that will allow young players entering this level to be able to grow to this level of competition.. the supportive environment so they can focus and not overly worry about other issues going on. a harmony with laughter to break any tensions arising that can take a further edge off the players ability to focus on their craft. I don't know how many test greats need to allude to this, before you may be finally able to allow yourself to open up. * talent is a prerequisite, but not all the most talented will be able to cut it... a broad spectrum of skills are required to achieve, especially in a mixed social environment where sharp & precious Ego's are involved. the coach & off field leadership are required to steer this environment towards success. Boof is doing a great job repairing the damage of the past 5 or so years.
  15. Hayden hits out at Australia's leadership void Matthew Hayden believes the decision to anoint Michael Clarke as the next Australian captain from a young age instead of grooming a group of candidates contributed to a lost generation of leaders, and has implored Cricket Australia to invest heavily in the next group of potential captains. Hayden, the Test great and former CA board member, said he raised concerns about the leadership void when he was a director, between 2009 and 2011. ''If there is one element in my time that has lost its way it's the development of a leadership culture. The fact that Michael Clarke was promoted at 21 to be the next captain was a mistake. Whilst I think he is now a natural choice as captain, I think it needed a lot more behind-the-scenes support and resources into developing a really strong, vibrant community of leaders,'' said the man who shared Australia's most successful opening partnership with Justin Langer. 16. wrong yet again rhino. you have a great history of writing others thoughts before they've thought of them.. your fantasies are almost whimsical in the most vexatious ways... i'm sorry you never felt the love you needed. & you just have the habit of bringing out the best in everyone you sneeze your comments over. I'll go back to ignoring you again, see ya, til next time.
  17. Australia: David Warner Chris Rogers Shane Watson Michael Clarke © Steven Smith Brad Haddin (W) James Faulkner Peter Siddle Mitchell Starc Ryan Harris Nathan Lyon Now for Warner to go to 2, or 3... imo his stature (smaller) allows him to be more nimble on his feet than Watto. so should be stronger against Anderson & Swann... & has more Grit than Watto. so to me would make a very good (3)
  18. never? the only thinkg watto would have got out of clartk net would be to help them recover from their ice wall. Its Boofs doing all this, & the removal of falsehood cultural imports from the afracaan continent.. you only need to change a culture if its become corrupted. not if its tired. Go Boof.
  19. Go Watto...
  20. I think its a good time now to give some kids a go... even at the expense of smith for agar, with lyon, just to give agar another crack before coming home. I think khawaja is too timid in our environment to be played @ 3,,, at least at this moment. I believe he should follow Clark, & come in at 5. Just to allow him the time to adjust to being an australian test batsmen. IMO we need a Real gritty bugger in at 3... before the stylish Clark comes in to flash his wares. I think our current grittiest are Rogers & Warner. ... do we have a young opener in the wings? but let not make more than 3 changes.
  21. DRS Out-law edge tape. The batsmen can afford plenty of bats. DRS works well, but just needs to be fine tuned & taken out of the hands of the teams. it should be the 3rd umpires call to immediately pause the game when a possible BAD decision has been given. & drs should cover all dismissal forms. out of the teams hands.
  22. Allan Border, the man who led the country out of the doldrums in the 1980s, believes England are "vulnerable" and "worried" despite having retained the urn in the shortest possible time. Border said he had a "growing respect" for Michael Clarke's side after their bold performance at Old Trafford and believed the team had "drawn their own line in the sand" in much the same way as Australia had during the 1986-87 series. Border's Australians lost that series 2-1 but won the World Cup in 1987 before starting 16 years of Ashes domination in 1989. "Broken the spell": Border believes Graeme Swann will not trouble Australia's batsmen to the same degree going forward. Border is adamant Australia would have won the third Test had rain not intervened with the hosts in peril at 3-27. "What a difference two weeks can make. In the space of 14 days, my perception and gut-feel about this Australian side has changed," Border wrote in a column for subscribers to the Cricket Australia website. "After copping a hammering at Lord's, the team grew a leg in this Test. "They showed real fight and England are worried. The Poms were playing catch-up cricket from day one, going slow with over rates and doing everything they could to negate our chances of winning. At the end of the day rain saved England – it's a simple as that. "The way this side is going over the next few months, look out. Australia has the momentum." 23. we're winning this game no matter the outcome. we've won back respect from ourselves firstly, & from the opposition, & spectators... this is the pathway back for us... Boof is working miracles already. has the players looking more relaxed & happy. even Clark was laughing out there. & its showing in ther collective outputs... see Lyon looking like he has MOJO. If we lose this test series today, I reckon with this team in the next test, we can push them, & if in that test there is another batsmen failure, then with this momentum, we could bring in a kid for the following test.
  24. magnificently, harris & Siddle... I reckon Siddle is getting better, or is it the duke ball? those bowls angling across the batsmen & straightening were fantastic. & he's looking sharp.
  25. they look to be playing it with almost one dayer tactics. but is Clark fit & able to bat? interesting ploy to get the lefties up front, followed by the righties. this doesn't sound like clark styled thinking. rain apparently on the way... lets hope some luck comes our way to help even things up.
