  1. But, his tackles are so ineffectual. He has no physical presence on the ground, he doesn't tackle, he cuddles.
  2. Well, it hasn't been a great start for Watts tonight
  3. Please post more
  4. I can't see Roos being as patient with a player not prepared to do the basics as our previous coaches
  5. If there ever will be a game when Watts will go out to play for his career you'd think it would be this weekend. I was very critical of him after last week but I still hope he comes good.
  6. We have definitely improved to a point that we can be competitive at the AFL level. Which says more about how bad we were last season than anything else. The really hard work starts from here.
  7. Great news, hope it happens
  8. I'd imagine that they would want Hogan to play at Casey for at least a couple of weeks to build his fitness up which would delay his availability for Melbourne
  9. My biggest fear is that he is trying his hardest
  10. There is no room in modern football for players who avoid physical contact at all costs. Watts is a great kick, he has all the talent in the world, but he can't survive playing like he did yesterday. To anyone who watched any of the Hawks vs Cats game today, did you see anyone consistently avoid physical contact the way Watts does, or anyone as inept at it? We can sit around and sing kumbyyah whilst holding hands all we want, but it won't change the facts that no matter how talented someone is he won't succeed if he can't do the simple acts on a football ground. Hannibal got it right on BF, he'll be ok against poor teams but as soon as the intensity goes up he'll get found out. I want him to succeed, but I've changed my mind, I think he's a liability.
  11. Don't be an ignorant imbecile. The days of players having one set role has well and truly gone in modern footballer, now 'outside' footballers are expected to go in when it's their turn. Give me an example of another player who consistently refuses to attack the ball the way Watts continues to avoid any physical contest, hell even Gibbs is harder that Watts. It's laughable that you could find excuses for the way he is so easily pushed out of a contest. It's one thing to have a bad game, but to show no effort or desire at all is terrible at this level. No more excuses for this club, if we want to play like an AFL team then performances like that are unacceptable. Does anyone think that he would get away with that crap at any other club? This type of attitude of making excuses if exactly why we've been the worst club for more than half a decade.
  12. I suggest we remove Watts from the banner at the top of the page.
  13. And that sums up Jack Watts' career
  14. Watch Watts play today has been embarrassing, I just can't believe that I thought he could ever become an AFL footballer. The guy is just too soft. The only way we can hope to improve is to get rid of these types, I don't care what draft pick they were, get them out of the club.
  15. Had to laugh at the VFL report for Bleasey: Sam Blease: Unfortunately, Bleasey went to tackle a bloke early in the first quarter and he tackled him with his chin and knocked himself out. He didn’t take any further part in the game. It was by the 10-minute mark, so that was his day. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-04-15/vfl-player-review-round-two Bit of humour from Brett Allison
  16. It depresses me that I'm interested in this thread at this time of the year with a likely outcome that we'll probably have a top 2 pick. /sigh
  17. Roos has a good track record with developing kids, if he's dropped guys like Toumpas or Michie you can bet he's doing it for a specific reason. Long term development is more important than short term success so he'll have these guys working on certain areas of their game at Casey.
  18. lol, I know too many barristers and lawyers to travel down that path, I just have to be careful that he doesn't charge me by the minute for his replies
  19. WJ, it's actually pretty cool that you and others on this forum pass on info from nights like these.
  20. And I wanted Melbourne to draft him last year, lucky I'm not in charge of recruiting...
  21. The team we saw on the weekend is completely different to what we've seen over the last three years and even though I'm not happy that we didn't win I'm actually pretty satisfied with what I saw.
  22. I was reminded last night why I stopped watching that tripe several years ago
  23. My best mate changed clubs when he was young, in Primary School. He went from Collingwood to North Melbourne so I can't hold that against him. There's that old saying that Footy is a religion in Melbourne and for me it's kind of accurate. It's like a fundamental belief, it's not something that I can just change my mind over night. Let's take life after death. you either believe in life after death or you don't, something very profound would have to occur for you to change your mind on the subject.
  24. The 2014 phone app is ready to download now
  25. Terrible news
