Good to see Mitch finally make his debut for the Dogs. Good luck Mitch.
Good luck to him (except in about 4 week’s time when they play us).

Updated injury list pasted from AFL website, excuse the formatting.
No mention of petty with his shoulder/collarbone?James Harmes Wrist 1 week Marty Hore Knee Season Bailey Laurie Eye 5-7 weeks Aaron Nietschke Knee Season Joel Smith Knee 5-7 weeks If there’s one thing I have learned, it is that you don’t trust these injury lists that the AFL issued, especially if they don’t bear the imprimatur of Mr Burgess. This one omits to mention the likes of Mitch Brown, Jay Lockhart and AVB who were mysteriously missing from the Casey lineup last week as well as Harry Petty as mentioned above. Given that there’s a VFL game on later today and we have yet to hear officially from the club, I’m guessing that there are one or two mystery injuries about to be revealed.

wonder if Casey radio will return this year.
A great addition to the game and they covered a few away games as well.
They are doing VFL but aren’t limited to coverage of Casey games alone.

Here’s a great story about Smith’s sacking from the perspective of player Ray Groom who later became Premier of Tasmania.
Norm Smith was sensationally sacked by Melbourne 50 years ago

Accuracy in front of goal would help too.

Needless to say Ben Brown and Sam Weideman are now available ? but it’s bad luck to Joel Smith who is a constant visitor to the list and Bailey Laurie, a newbie. Both due to be out for a while.
Injury List: Round 6

Steven May (eye socket) — Test
James Harmes (wrist) — 2 Weeks
Bailey Laurie (eye socket) — 6 Weeks
Joel Smith (knee) — 6 to 8 Weeks

Aaron Nietschke (knee) — Season

I don’t quite get the comment about the Weed and BBB getting through the VFL unscathed and then still having their names on the injured list with “1 week” and “1 to 2 weeks” respectively. If that applies, surely you’re not going to play either AFL or VFL?

Jacob Edwards is a young ruck prospect who impressed in the opening round of the NAB League and could be considered in the mid season draft.
Dragons' 202cm ruck prospect stands tall as mid-season draft option
Expect the Suns might be interested mid season.

My understanding is that Collingwood’s salary cap situation is far from resolved and they would have to move a few pieces around to make a huge offer for Trac. Then the question is what do they offer Melbourne? Darcy Moore plus a future first rounder?
From Melbourne’s viewpoint, I think the likely retirements and delistings leave us well placed to make fair and reasonable offers to retain our star players and remain active in trading.

On a side note let’s hope we are better prepared for the cats keeping off style of game they played against us last season otherwise it will result in a loss again.
The way the game is played today with the longer quarters and with the way our team is set up at the moment, if the Cats try keepings out it will come a cropper. We almost beat them as it was last year. We would run over them if they tried it next week.

Hopefully, we can get the kicking yips under control (both for the women and the men) and we’ll enjoy our wins a lot more.
Having said that, it was never in doubt! ?

Rod was fantastic for us that year and if only he had remained fit for the entire season? Perhaps he might have overcome the difficulties of his youth at a new club and in a more caring environment.
It was also a case of one door opens because if my memory serves me well, his injury and departure from the team paved the way for the debut of Allen Jakovich.

Looking much better this week even though M. Brown, J. Smith and Lockhart have nowhere to play and Jay's prognosis got somehow changed from "testicles" to "groin".

Just you wait. The day will come when our goal kicking clicks and we’ll have a real day out.

Amazing the turnover of players. Expect at least half a dozen from that team to be missing next week.
